Kevin Costner is apparently dating Jewel after a visit to Necker Island

Every year around this time, Richard Branson hosts a big party and “tennis tournament” at his private island, Necker Island. Some of my favorite tennis stars have ended up on Necker, playing tennis with celebrities and enjoying an all-expenses-paid vacation. Well, this year, Kevin Costner was invited to Necker and he stayed there for something like two full weeks. Page Six had some updates about how Costner – who only settled his bitter divorce in September – was really enjoying himself there. Now TMZ has given the reason why: Kevin Costner was loved up with JEWEL!!

Kevin Costner is apparently rebounding after his split from Christine Baumgartner because he and Jewel are now a thing … sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ.

These pics were shot on Richard Branson’s Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands … where the 2 of them were part of a tennis fundraiser for the Inspiring Children Foundation. Jewel is the founder of the org, and Kevin was a guest.

Here’s what we know. The 2 flew to the Caribbean together and hung out a lot for more than a week. As one source put it, “There was definitely something going on. They were flirty, and when they were together, it was like they both just lit up.”

One source added, “You could tell they were trying to be discreet, but anybody who saw them could tell something was going on.”

Jewel had mentioned Kevin on social media, talking about the event, writing … “it’s an incredible time, and one I use to relax, rest and play w my son! @kevincostnermodernwest was kind enough to mentor our kids this year.”

They played doubles with Sir Richard, who, as she says, “plays a mean game!”

We’re told the 2 also flew back together.

[From TMZ]

I’m consistently surprised by Jewel’s pop culture staying power. Like, she could have been a one-hit wonder in the ‘90s, never heard from again, but she’s stuck around and now she’s banging Kevin Costner?? She’s 49 years old – he’s 68. The age difference is significant, but she’s nearly 50 so I don’t think it’s that bad? They seem like an odd couple but maybe it works. Her son is 12 years old… yeah, I could see it.

Jewel is way too sweet for that horrible man.

    • Ameerah M says:

      She’s a Trump supporter. She’s hardly “sweet”

      • K8erade says:

I didn’t know that. I take back my nice comment.

      • Penguin says:

She isnt. She never supported Trump, she participated in the pardon of a man benefiting from her foundation. She roasted Ann Coulter for supporting Trump and accused her of voting like it’s 1899.

    • Jaded says:

Jewel is an anti-vaxxer. After one of Joe Rogan’s anti-vax rants on Spotify and Instagram, she posted “You’re doing a great job. Keep it up!” She is not, however a Trump supporter.

  2. Jewel comes from a homesteading family from Alaska they have a show about it on discovery I think she has appeared on it once or twice. She left home young some bad things about her father at the time. This is an unusual pairing if true but stranger things happen.

    • Sass says:

I don’t think they’re that dissimilar. He’s always fancied himself a cowboy and she’s definitely outdoorsy. Knowing what I know now about her, their values and interests definitely align.

  3. atorontogal says:

I’m not surprised. Very like minded Trump lovers.

    • NG_76 says:

He is not a Trump supporter and voted for Obama and Biden. He made quite a few interviews disparaging Trump and his policies.

    • Josephine says:

Costner was an outspoken Liz Cheney advocate, specifically because she was so clearly and strongly against Trump. He went to bat for Cheney. And Costner has voted for several prominent Democrats. I do think that he fancies himself an “Independent” but I’m almost positive that he has nothing at all to do with Trump.

  4. Ameerah M says:

Jewel is also a conservative Republican a-hole. Just like Costner! So they have a lot in common.

    • TheVolvesSeidr says:

I’ve been a Jewel fan since her first recordings. I’ve never seen that she is a trump supporter? or a conservative. Do you have any source for this? I can’t find anything, anywhere that she is a repugnant or that she supports/ed trump? I know she was anti Hilary in ’08 & “interested” in Obama, but I don’t know of her saying much about politics at all after that.

  5. Sass says:

Yyyyyyyyyyuck learning a lot about one of my favorite singer songwriters today 🤢

  6. OceanCityGirl says:

I wonder how his ex wife Christine is doing now. She was so screwed over in that divorce. I hope she has peace and happiness in her life now.

  7. Jayna says:

Untrue that Kevin is a Trump lover. He was a Republican early on because he grew up in a Republican household. He is a registered Independent since the mid ’90s. So he isn’t some far-right Republican. Does he agree with everything regarding the Democratic Party? Does he always vote Democrat? Mostly, but not always. But he was a huge critic of Trump regarding everything from the post office and the pandemic.

He voted for Obama. He endorsed Pete Buttigieg during the Democratic Primary. “During the Democratic presidential primaries, he came forward as a big supporter of Mayor Pete Buttigieg, saying, “I felt that Pete, among two or three others—I won’t name them—but I thought that he had the best vision for how we move forward, and had the best energy.” A Trump lover would hardly have picked Pete Buttigieg as the person he wanted for president. He voted for Joe Biden once he was the nominee feeling he could bring the country together. He supported Liz Cheney against a Trump-backed opponent because of her stance on the January 6 insurrection and Trump’s involvement. That’s his right. “I was clear that (Cheney) probably wasn’t going to win her election. But I wanted to let her know, as a citizen, how much I appreciated her brave, clear-headed stance.”

“Costner, who voted for Barack Obama in 2008, was also asked about former first lady Michelle Obama running for president (something she’s said won’t be happening). “Michelle’s incredibly bright and articulate and has possessed good judgment and experience as a result. Why couldn’t she be [president]?” he replied, adding, “She’d have a level of interest from me.” “His sentiments riled up Trump supporters who took to social media to say they aren’t interested in his opinions — or the opinions of anyone else in the entertainment business for that matter. He was called “brain-dead,” a “has-been” and “stupid” for expressing his personal beliefs.”

He said he doesn’t care if where he stands pisses people off.

    • Ameerah M says:

Fun fact: nearly 10 million people who voted for Obama voted for Trump in 2016. One has literally nothing to do with other. And he doesn’t get a pass because he voted for Obama. It’s not a magical card.

      • Josephine says:

I think the backing of Liz Cheney speaks pretty directly to his thoughts about Trump. There is plenty of reason to dislike him, no need to pretend he’s a huge Trump booster although I’d be interested if there is any evidence of that.

  8. Roan Inish says:

I don’t know who to believe about Kevin’s political leanings. It was easy for me to believe he was a maga dude, but if he’s not I would like to know.

    • Jayna says:

Well, he voted for Biden. How is he MAGA?

His words. I don’t know the year:

“It would take a lot for me to vote for a Republican these days. My views don’t line up with what they believe. I believe in civil rights, gun control, protecting the environment, affordable education, not fighting in all these wars, fair taxation and the Republicans take stances opposite of my views on almost all those issues.

“I grew up in Orange County, a very Republican area at the time. My parents were Republicans. I participated in Young Republicans in college. I voted for Reagan and Bush Sr. However, I looked more and more at my own beliefs and they just didn’t line up with Republican ideology. I changed my affiliation to independent after I voted for Bill Clinton in 1992. These days, I would call myself a moderate Democrat, but I’m still registered as an independent.”

  9. Pinkosaurus says:

Kevin needs a woman that is his equal that he cannot dominate and control, who he has to treat respectfully and not as the unpaid help. Jewel might be a very good fit.

    • Flower says:

I think the issue is that he married ‘the one’ the first time around and then fucked around and found out when fame got to his head, which is why he is now keeps engaging in these transactional relationships.

See this situation play out with a number of male friends and even the transactional relationships never work out well as we’ve seen with his most recent ex wife, whom he effectively treated like live-in paid help.

  10. Carolnr says:

She sort of resembles Beth Dutton when she has her make-up done in the one pic I saw of her in a black & white suit, lol!
He obviously likes blondes & likes music
( he has his own band), so maybe this isn’t such a strange pairing?
I doubt that Kevin will every marry again but she may also not be interested in getting married…time will tell

    • Josephine says:

Right? Neither needs to get married. idk, I definitely would not date him after everything that happened in that divorce, but hopefully she’s just looking for some fun. although he doesn’t seem like he’d be fun.

  11. Dani says:

I’m actually surprised that he appears to have moved on so quickly. I guess we have to wait for more info to come out to know what is really going on.

  12. The Old Chick says:

I do know that KC isn’t a trump Republican so this isn’t about politics. However Jewel strikes me as more hippy and he seems more traditional, especially in roles. Maybe they’re having fun, maybe it’s more. If I were jewel, I wouldn’t be dating a nearly 70 year old but all power to her.
