“Touch my Muscles,” Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez propositioned during an interview with fiery supermodel Naomi Campbell. Obviously not realizing the term “Military Strongman” was not a literal phrase, Chavez bragged to Campbell about his strength and former job as a paratrooper. When Campbell asked Chavez if he would strip off his shirt for her and pose for photographs sometime, the OPEC member enthusiastically agreed, “why not?”
The colorful South American leader dished with Campbell on George Bush- “he’s crazy, on his way out” and Camilla Parker Bowles -“not as attractive” as princess Di. Chavez expressed admiration though, for Prince Charles and more predictably praised Cuban dictator Fidel Castro. Chavez seemed strangely fixated on Castro’s facial hair, referring to Castro’s “elegant beard.”
The elected leader of Venezuela, one of the top oil producing nations, Chavez produced an outcry when he famously held his nose and motioned as if something smelled foul at The United Nations after a speech by US president George Bush.
Naomi Campbell, most known for her modeling work in the early nineties, has also appeared in videos by Puff Daddy, Madonna, Jay-Z, and Prince and has had minor roles in a number of Hollywood films, most notably Ready to Wear and Girl 6. The Chavez interview was commissioned by the British edition of GQ Magazine. No word from the magazine about the possibility of a future photo shoot of Chavez topless, or the possibility of Campell getting other national figures (Nicolas Sarkozy?, US presidential candidate Barak Obama?) to agree to pose semi-naked.
