Emma Stone lives in New York, but she was seemingly in town this week just for a quick promotional blitz, and then she jetted off… somewhere? Maybe to London, because the Cruella sequel is in pre-production. (Incidentally, I loved the first Cruella film and I’m so glad a sequel is coming.) Emma appeared on Good Morning America, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and probably several other shows. I’ve never been crazy about Emma’s style, but I really love her sad-beige outfit in these photos. It’s very ‘70s, very Ralph Lauren. The tuxedo dress is meh, and her airport outfit looks like my winter uniform, minus the red loafers.
Emma’s still talking about Poor Things, for which she’s nominated as an actress and producer. This is also Oscar-campaigning for her, by the way. Poor Things made a surge at just the right moment. I don’t know if her late surge will translate into any Oscar statues though. While Emma is beloved by Oscar voters, I think the Best Actress Oscar is Lily Gladstone’s to lose. Now, could I see a situation where Emma gets a surprise win because Lily and Sandra Huller split the vote? Perhaps. But Emma is not “campaigning” like a frontrunner, she’s just hustling to promote the movie in general, which is probably the smartest way to campaign.
Meanwhile, Emma did a cute Jeopardy thing on The Late Show. She talked before about how much she wants to appear on regular Jeopardy.

I would 1000% wear that last outfit with the red shoes. In fact, I have. It would be something I would wear on a day of running errands and shopping. Put together but comfortable. I wouldn’t wear it for a promo tour though.
I’m old, so I don’t look to actresses for fashion at all. Models are for that. But I don’t agree that one outfit should be called “sad” beige-it’s a beautiful brown. It’s my favorite but all her looks are fine. IMO her performance should win for Poor Things. She went through an incredible arc and it would be way more deserved than her Oscar for Lala Land. A consolation prize would be screenplay because the writing was -chef’s kiss. No actresses now unfortunately get to say words like that.
I like all of these. They aren’t setting the world on fire, but they are well put together and luxe. She looks like a grown up. And I am all for sad beige. Also known as camel – one way to instantly make an item look more expensive than it is is to buy it in camel. Instant look upgrade. That camel look is basically what I used to wear to my office all the time during the winter months.
I like the beige one, with the boots – that coat looks so soft…Good outfit, and the unbuttoned skirt gives it a more modern and young twist, it would be a bit severe otherwise. The airport outfit looks comfortable, which personally is the only thing I would want for that occasion, flights are such a miserable experience (hello bloating, cramped space, swollen legs, dry skin…). The tuxedo dress is nothing special and I hate sheer hose, but that’s just me 🙂
I picked up the DVD of Cruella from the library on a whim. Really enjoyed it. I like Emma Stone in movies, but she’s not someone who I really pay attention to in a gossip sense. She is undoubtedly fine with that. Her fashion is hit or miss.
Minus the tuxedo dress, Emma is giving me Diane Keaton/Annie Hall vibes. I’m not sure how I feel about that.
100% my thoughts as well
I like all of these outfits.
Bring back sheer black hose!

LV gives Emma better outfits than Ana de Armas.
