You guys, what the hell is happening at Kensington Palace? I’m a broken record at this point, but the clownery is out of control and it’s absolutely bonkers to watch this unfold in real time. Not only that, it’s f–kup after f–kup, shambles on top of shambles. Last night, four major media/photo outlets “killed” the Mother’s Day photo of the Princess of Wales. Meaning, the photo was removed from Getty, Associated Press, AFP and Reuters’ sites and archives, all because Kensington Palace would not provide them a clean copy, and there were strong suspicions that the photo had been heavily manipulated. This morning, the Press Association also pulled the image too. Prince William and his staff spent roughly fourteen hours in a blind, likely drunken panic. Then they came up with a solution – blame the whole thing on Kate. Behold, the Kensington Palace Brain Trust:

The “C” means this message came “from Kate,” which is debatable, given all of the shenanigans we’ve already seen. Their argument was that Prince William TOOK the photo, a photo of Kate wearing jeggings and sitting up after serious abdominal surgery, and now the argument is that Kate decided to edit the photo William took of her? @pinkasaurus, I’ve been wondering that for awhile! At some point, the rank incompetence distracts from Charles in a bad way. Problem is, I don’t think he can rein in KP or put them under his control. He let them do nothing but put out their own competing media strategy for more than a decade, then loaded them up with titles and money. Before the queen died, Charles could assert some control with the purse strings. Now? TOB does what he wants.
Pinkosaurus, Jay, I’ve been wondering the same. Charles must be in a frenzy by now. He kept giving Peg enough rope to hang himself, but that was dancing on thin ice. Now the ice broke and KC is left powerless. As Jay says, he loaded them up with titles, money, and coddling domestic press. I truly can’t see how he can seize control of this situation now. However, he is obviously somewhat smarter than Peg plus he has the rottweiler and probably the men in gray on his side. I can’t look away from this trainwreck. I even started checking the Fail for updates and to see their reactions (hangs head in shame).
IMHO the incompetence is a result of being unwilling to tell the truth. The central idea to hold on to is less about the clown show per se but what the clown show is covering up. KP has decided that being seen as incompetent worldwide is an acceptable price to pay.
4 agencies don’t do a kill notice for “minor editing” Nice try KP. Actual photographers are saying this is WAY bigger than that. This is something that rarely ( if ever) happens.
It is so heavily edited to hide it is a pic from last year when they went to the baby bank together. It is not proof of life! Where is kate?

Remember BP /Charles demanded that they would have the ability to edit BBC footage (!!) of the Queen’s funeral and iirc the coronation, so I wouldn’t think anyone in the RF are clutching their pearls about media integrity and the monarchy. However, it’s clear they’re also not stepping in to shut down this KP fiasco and are happy to let William keep screwing up…
I think no press is bad press in their view. Despite it being Oscar Sunday, Kate, William, and Louis were trending all day yesterday and are trending again this morning.

Now the world is getting a glimpse of what King William will be like and they hate it. Charles has to be enjoying that to a certain degree. I imagine he will let William get banged up a bit before getting things back on an even keel.
Many have been saying that Charles and BP must be thrilled to see KP get its comeuppance and looks foolish after all the “Let’s skip over Charles’ reign and go straight to William” stories but, let’s face it, since Charles is king now the fact that they allow this incompetence to fester does not look good for BP at all either. It shows they have no control over William at the very least, and having worked in government at the state level, I know that the first rule is to never do anything to bring shame, scandal or notoriety on the principals.

With all the other inconsistencies, Charlotte’s footwear doesn’t match.

I know, it’s so unfair. I don’t even think he took the photo any longer; it’s just been cut and pasted by some absolute amateur. I accepted it as mostly real – apart from huge layers of photoshop to her face to make her look better. I thought the clothing was an offence to those who have had to wear comfortable fabrics to get over similar surgery. But I sensed a hunched up-ness in her, as if she were protective of her abdomen. Tick. The garden also looks absolutely done in, like mine at the moment. But people are now saying William was actually in the photo and cut out, standing behind her? I don’t think that any roll out of Kate is necessary. They can just write a statement in her “voice” as in, “Don’t blame me too much. I’m just a mother who photoshops — oops, who edits.” Then, they sign Kate’s name to it, just like they did to Harry.

This is absolutely insane. 1) William is the one literally credited with taking the photograph — they went out of their way to credit him — but Kate is the one taking the fall. If anyone doubted the insane lies that the RF has told to protect that idiot, those doubts can be put to rest. 2) KP is so stupid they think they can spin this as the photo getting killed for a bit of light, amateur photoshop. Kill orders don’t get issued for that! There are journalists on Twitter with decades in the industry saying that they have literally never seen a kill order of this scale issued. Absolute insanity.

Louis’s hand was the first thing that drew my attention after a sense that the photo seemed “off”. People also found an obvious mismatched line and blurring between Kate’s head and body. What stands out is that they’re always being secretive and sneaky and extremely competitive with H & M, while pretending to be nonchalant and above it all. I’m sorry something happened to Kate but on the other hand (PUN, lol) it’s about time people started calling out the Wailses and KP for their constant BS.

Exactly, Ariel – that was the first thing that came to mind. I made the mistake of reading the comments on the People Magazine instagram page, and it was all “Why shouldn’t you touch it up if you want to!” and “Women apologize for everything.” and “Everyone tweaks photos before posting.”
I was like: Leave aside for a moment the content of the statement. You have no proof she even SAID this! And given Willy’s history of attaching other people’s names to statements, I highly doubt she did.
Some people die hard, it takes a long time for them to realize the truth. They are still out there trying to pretend that the international kill notices are about bad photoshopping, just like whoever issued the KP post from “C” is still pretending that the picture (or compilation of pictures) was about wishing everyone a happy Mother’s Day.

Nubia. I don’t know too much, either. I was always under the impression that her favoured photographer, Jackson, takes the pictures and also does the huge amount of editing she gets. This has gone rogue. There are people on here much better than I am on editing. Elvira on other posts etc.
People tend to edit their own photos to get the effect they want, or give it to professional photoshop artists.
I saw someone on TikTok who had a great observation- it looks like they photoshopped a picture that may have been taken in November 2023 when they visited a baby bank.
They’re wearing the same outfits, basically, just different colors, and they photoshopped a sweater on Charlotte.
I saw that TikTok too. Kate is wearing the same jeans and boots and sweater from the baby bank video and Charlotte the same red top with the scalloped neckline. They had a camera crew with them that day so it’s likely they posed together before heading out. Louis has a different sweater on but I assume Louis can’t stand still and always is photoshopped in. The colors on Kate and George’s sweaters/shirts were changed and Kate most likely swapped her head in. What a mess.
I don’t think that this is photoshop I think it’s AI possibly based on an old picture. The detail that convinced me of that is Charlotte’s shoes. There is absolutely no way that you would add (or remove) a heel on one boot but not the other if you are “just” photoshopping. One shoe is flat and the one that she has in the air has a fairly high heel if you zoom in on it.
Could it be that the bottom of the jumper that Louis is wearing has s9mehow magically moved between Charlottes wrist and bottom of her jumper? Or is it William being completely edited out? It certainly isn’t a part of Charlotte’s outfit (looks greyish green)?
@DARK, l thought it was a tassel on the boot, not a heel on her crossed leg. You can see the decorative piece where it’s dangling from.
Charlotte is wearing the same tights and boots that she wore in the video from the baby bank. I lightened the photo in Photoshop and the boots are much easier to see–they are both the same. So much detail in that original photo was obscured because it was so dark.
The baby bank day makes sense b/c she and all 3 kids were camera ready.
The majority of photographers I’ve worked with photoshop/edit their own images. Occasionally a graphic designer will edit an image while a design is being worked on for, say, a piece of printed collateral that will be mailed. But the professional photogs I’ve worked with who do portraits all edit their images.
This isn’t just cleaning up an image or smoothing out a few wrinkles though. It’s well beyond that for those news agencies to have pulled it, it’s been manipulated to such a degree that they question the authenticity of it.

Last week everyone (including me) was like “why don’t they just release normal statements, that would solve everything.” Now everyone is like “why can’t they just stop talking they’re making everything worse by the minute.” If they had been boring and normal about this from the beginning, we wouldn’t be here. Not only are they gleefully fully-bodied heaving Kate under a bus (which is a deliberate choice, as they could have either blamed an intern, or simply released a statement saying that minor cosmetic photoshopping is normal and not blamed anyone), they’re also chucking Carole under a bus.
Because it’s clear Kate in this photo and Kate in the car photo look nothing alike. You don’t go from looking like the car photo (massively swollen face) to looking like this in a manner of days, regardless how much glam squad you have access to.
They are trying to insinuate that the car photo was fake/a lookalike, and that Carole knowingly participated in a hoax.

I work with photoshop daily. AP et al did not pull a pic over amateur adjustments. And you can bet your ass they did a deep validation with sources too before doing that. I call BS. Editing software – in addition to the built-in features in iPhones – has so much AI enablement now, you can erase a background and adjust everything with two clicks. Also: compare the length of Charlotte’s legs to the pre holidays black and white pic. That kid reverse-grew?

There is a call to release the “original” photo and KP won’t, they can’t, because either there is no original photo and its pieces of different photos blended together, or stuff is changed from the original like colors of clothing (see the tiktok theory) like changing kate’s white baby bank sweater to a dark color- and that would show the photo is from December and the palace would be caught in yet another lie on top of a lie on top of a lie.

Nope, this is William and KP throwing Kate under the bus and issuing a statement on “X” to try and dampen things down and protect him. Kate has dabbled with photography for several years and is probably fairly proficient in how to use photoshop to improve clarity, brightness and edit out shadows etc., whereas this is a complete mess of cutting out, inserting and overlaying in order to cobble together something “wholesome”. It’s been so manipulated that 4 of the most prominent picture agencies killed it after full scrutiny. There’s something very wrong with that picture and it’s not amateurish editing.
No, a woman with a years long keen interest in photography would not have thought that photo looked ok to release. Kate wouldn’t have approved this public representation of herself, unless she’s somehow impaired. Maybe they just showed her a thumbnail and she didn’t have the energy to look closely. Yes but in actuality, the photo was released by “Kate”. Allegedly (lol), William took the photo but the photo was released on Twitter by “C” which means they are saying Kate wrote that tweet and added the photo.

Which brings us to the latest WHAT IS GOING ON WITH WILLIAM episode: this picture. William supposedly took this Mother’s Day photo, put it on there SM and allowed it to be distributed to the media. It didn’t pass the legal smell test, is being recalled, and now William is letting his wife take the blame for the photo HE supposedly took and posted of her? KP refused to provide the press with the original picture—again, as Kate recovers, presumably William is n charge of KP messaging?!

That’s what I was wondering. AP must know all of Kate’s photos are ‘shopped to make her look younger/better and that’s never been a problem before. So for AP to refuse this photo, the palace must have taken the fakery to a whole new level.

The fact that KP refused to provide original tells us so much – most likely that there wasn’t an “original” to provide because this picture has been so doctored. If Kate had just been fooling around with editing and overdid Charlotte’s sleeve or whatever, KP could have provided that photo with no issues – AP wouldn’t have distributed it, just compared it. And all of this would have been avoided.
And yet…..here we are.
I think the real reason they refused to provide the original (or originals if it’s a composite of a few shots stitched together so all the kids are looking at the camera) isn’t because of AI – it’s because the data encoded into the original image would show it was taken last fall and NOT in Windsor this week. Providing the original to the news agencies would reveal the lie that Will didn’t take it and it isn’t a recent photo.
If the news sites sort of looked the other way before, I think because of the back story they could not do that here. First off, when someone explains how the picture was photoshopped, you can’t unsee how much work has been done on it.
Then, due to last week’s car photo, Kate looks completely different from the possible last time she was seen. Hoe do you explain that?
And finally, abdominal surgery requiring 3-6 months recovery away from the public eye is serious. It doesn’t work with her clothing, with last week’s picture or the healthy image in this picture. Ergo totally not realistic.
Indeed. That clothing and the implication – just off for a hike/back from a hike – is offensive I imagine to people who’ve had potentially similar surgery.
I think the other photos got a pass because they could probably tell that all subjects were in the original photo but just enhanced. I strongly suspect that AP knows certain parts of this more recent photo were just added. I saw a few tweets saying if you test the photo it is 75% AI.

I had assumed that the original Mother’s Day post was written by someone at KP with William’s approval. At the end of the day, he’s the boss right? But alternately, could someone from “Kate’s team,” whoever that is now, have included the part about William taking the photo. William has been pretty MIA. I just can’t think he wouldn’t have seen the statement before it was put out but who knows at this point.

“Minor adjustments” don’t get a kill notification first of all. Second, WOW throwing K under the bus is one thing but this explanation? Do they seriously expect us to believe Kate was laid up in bed playing with photoshop?! On an image that was sent to major photo agencies around the world? C’mon KP. COME ON. This is beyond amateur hour. Providing the original picture would kill this but I guess they can’t for….reasons.

I’ll just add there’s no way in hell Keen Photographer Kate would EVER willingly associate her reputation as a photographer, such as it is, with that chop shop job. I’ve only ever seen her issue very run of the mill but competent family photos where everyone has their digits and nobody is sprouting ghost sleeves or weird lines.

There was a lot of speculation that Louis was photoshopped into the pic of QEII sitting on a green sofa surrounded by grandkids. Kate took that pic. The light source on Louis was different than anyone else and there was some color bleed from blending him in.
Last night I was wondering if Kate was the one who informed AP et al that she was Not in the photo, possibly because negotiations weren’t going well but now I’m wondering if falling on the sword got her another 10mil?
@Harla A Brazen Hussy, I don’t think so. Why wouldn’t photo agencies say that they got feedback from Kate. They said it was because it failed their post publication analysis. After people on social media started figuring out all the photoshops, I think all the agencies looked at the photo and its metadata more closely and if they couldn’t get further info from KP, they concluded that it didn’t meet their standards of journalism.
All we need now is for one or more of the int’l photo agencies to give a detailed report of all the elements tht rendered this photo a fraud.

There were many but the meaningful one is her entire face was replaced with another image. I can put your face on someone else’s body in photoshop and that is what she did here. That is the issue. The deception and intent to deceive!
@Elvira would you say that visible crop line that cuts across the sweater which also brings an abrupt end to the coat zipper would be the smoking gun that the image was manipulated past the point of trustworthiness–i.e. Kate’s face was transposed on top of the original? It’s a fact William releases joint statements without permission from the other person. Eg: William released a statement, signed by Harry, saying that William doesn’t bully Harry.
He has no ethics surrounding falsifying a narrative to suit his needs.

We have to give it up one comment from yesterday that kids wear the same dress as dec outing. Because when you see kate and rest wear the same dress and the photo was manipulated with color of the dress etc. For examples last time char wore some jean skirt thats why there is a weird thing with her skirt in new photo , same as louis sweater same weirdness and if you look closely George caller of the shirt is artificially painted blue and kate wear same boots and her thighs area intentionally looks darker and her face is from 2017 Christmas photo where everyone wore blue before louis born. Check yourself she has the same face because in recent year no way her face comes near where near this. Also char boots one has heels and other doesnt. No way any reputable agency will take this much doctored image.
Again, they always use the W and C for their “personal” social media messages. the use of C is not about plausible deniability or anything. That’s pretty par for the course for them.
There is some serious sh!t going down at KP between the Wails – while she has previous for photoshopping her photo’s she is usually given a pass on it, even when it’s blatantly obvious whats been done. For this to get pulled means there are concerns that it’s not even a real photo to begin with esp as KP are refusing to release the original.
They clearly don’t want to release a recent photo of her, begs the question why? They don’t want to show just how ill she is or was and whatever ailed her has had a big impact on her appearance. I’m really starting to buy into the rumours that it was a stroke, maybe post op.
But then again if she’s well enough for a pap stroll then she’s well enough to do very bad photoshop. Remember the drama last week about her going to Trooping – someone is clearly trying to shove her into the background. He’s clearly done with her and her family – just announce it and be done with it.
I’m in and out of the Oscars stuff so don’t know what’s going on in the press too much, other than looking at this photo. Have any of W&K’s press hounds rallied round to protect them? They are becoming more and more isolated. It must be a sobering experience to be left adrift like this.

If I look at the two of them, they don’t seem really close when you see them in public. K gains a title and certain lifestyle privileges by staying married presuming it’s no longer a love match. W doesn’t really need to change much about his lifestyle if he stays married: it’s easy to have separate lives except for some public events. Plus, he has someone to take his blame for as long as they’re publicly together. If she wants better treatment or if he has someone else in mind, that’s when this set up starts to fail.

My personal theory is that she’s very unwell and her illness (which may have involved some kind of abdominal surgery) has a mental health and/or eating disorder element.
I believe that she’s fled to her mother’s house (or somewhere abroad with her mother) and that William/KP can’t get in touch with her, and they’re freaking out because they don’t know when or if she’ll be back.
I think Carole and Kate staged the car shot to show that she’s not dead, and now William/KP is trying to pretend that she’s alive and well and at home, and also imply that Carole staged the car shot with a lookalike.

Look at the clothes worn by Kate and the kids on their Maidenhead baby bank visit last Nov. They’re wearing the same clothes, which have been digitally altered in this photo including recolouring Kate’s turtleneck jumper from white to blue, adding a tartan skirt print over Charlotte’s dark blue skirt and recolouring George and Louis’ sweaters.
I would put money on a photo being taken last year of all of them like this and it’s been manipulated to seemingly look like a new, never before published photo.
Which tells me that Kate is really not around anymore.

I’ve been saying major plastic surgery from the get go. I do not believe they would be so squirrelly about anything else. If it was a true illness/medical ailment, I think we’d get a little bit of info on what she is recovering from. The silence they are maintaining means it’s super shameful to them. Maybe they initially thought the procedure would be minor and then there were complications. Whatever it is, they are super embarrassed by it and the covering they’re doing is just making it worse.
I agree. A facelift takes a while until you fully look right.
I really don’t think so. A) she would have done it in the summer when she can easily disappear for 3 months. B) any decently done face lift makes you look refreshed not completely different C) recovery time is about 6 weeks max, after which, again if done right, it should be hard to tell.
I think the most likely combo is Crohns and a pending divorce. Charle’s cancer was probably already known in the winter via blood tests and the idea that William can’t divorce an ill queen sent him over the deep end. Team children.

They’re only answering a select group of the KKKhate fans, who I’m sure love this statement. It’s “proof” to defend their English rose, a term we all know the meaning of. On the kind side, cute kids! I hope they’re doing well.
As a mom and photographer, I freely admit to frankensteining a family portrait to get the best pose or smile from each kid because it’s really hard to get young kids to all have a coordinated genuine smile and pose in a single image. A lot of these look like photoshop masking errors from trying to place a better shot into the main image. There are also major issues with scale, depth of field and light/shadows that show this goes beyond trying to merge photos from the same session.
How young are these kids? 2,3, 4? How do other parents do it? Before photoshopping capabilities? This excuse that kids are too squirmy is throwing them under the bus alongside Kate.
We have school and sports teams photos taken by parents and they turned out splendid. These parents have no time to photoshop the photos. With all the tech that comes with smart phone these days, it’s much easier to get good photos.
That’s not the issue here because if it were, they’d have provided the originals when asked.

Billy idol doesn’t like gardening in the rose bushes anymore, apparently green fly and mould set in, BUT he’s OK because he’s decided gardening isn’t his thing any more. He likes country persuits and loves taking his chopper cross country. Screaming around the Palace demanding that there are NO appointments Royal or otherwise for days at a time, because he needs to unwind, it’s all so hard for him, and only ONE person understands him and listens to him.

The more William screws this up, the more convinced I am that he did something terrible to Kate. I’m guessing Carole caught wind of the Mother’s Day photo and staged the car photo of Kate to undercut William’s message that all is well. The palaces photoshop all the time, but would these news outlets have looked so closely at this photo if we hadn’t just seen Kate not looking so great?
Furthermore, William not accepting responsibility for a photo he supposedly took, and that was posted from his official account, says everything about who he is as a person.

I do believe this is a photo from the fall that has been manipulated to extreme to try and make it look recent. The news services killed it because they believe something more sinister is at play. My cousin had abdominal surgery and couldn’t wear anything even slightly clinging around her midsection for months and yet Kate is wearing tight clingy jeans. If she’s well enough to sit for hours photoshopping she’s well enough to be seen. Also if you believe that pap photo of Kate and ma was real (albeit obscured) where Kate looks puffy and unwell then how can she look hale and hearty just days later. The dark photo with Will and Kate in the car with her head turned away is another ruse.
I hope this doesn’t get my comment booted but I think she was hospitalized for and eating related issue. It would explain why they won’t even release photos of her face if she is looking more gaunt. She seems to have the personality type and she has been shrinking for years.

What I think they did was they use an original photo as the base and used it in the prompt. With using different colors for the clothing, spring background/season
Then they made a ton of generations until they got close to what they wanted.
Then they spliced parts of images and used Photoshop (badly) with the original photo or just used AI
The window frames, floor tiles is absolutely AI, Louis hand if you look at the index finger, it’s dented and distorted with the middle finger, that a AI mistake.
Kate’s zipper could either be a bad Photoshop blend or AI
And Charlotte’s arm has been cut and moved to put the Kate hand image under it, and they didn’t align the wrist with the sleeve.
Also they tried to superimpose the arm sleeve on top of the original photo they were using.
It’s a ton of amateur Photoshop and AI
This is stuff I noticed in a second because I’m used to looking for weird crap in images.
The Photoshop skill level is medium, they could do some things but not the harder things like hair.
Kate’s head, the side of her head in the Louis side has been altered, it’s been pushed in to narrow her head but they screwed up the hair, so it’s a obviously blurred mess. There are so many better ways they could have chosen to do that.
The other side of her jaw /head is odd, that could be a PS screw up but i think the head/ face is a AI splice.
People on Twitter were checking the photo and it always came back machine made.
So my professional opinion is multiple crappy AI images of the original, and a WHOLE BUNCH of really bad Photoshop on top 😂

The most egregious one to my mind was where they totally photoshopped Louis into the last photo of Queen Elizabeth with her grandkids and great-grandkids! And, what about all of the major photoshopping on most of Kate’s photos by jackson? Were the prior photos only issued by the palaces? Were AP and other large photo agencies not a distributor thereof? Given what I’ve read of AP”s editing standards, those should not have flown as well. I am wondering if the new Press officer for KP just made a mistake on how the photo was distributed to the Press.

I think Chris Jackson is the name of Kate’s favorite photographer. He does photoshop her face, but I would guess he draws the line at massive manipulation. I think that’s why either Kate or Will did this and not a professional. They are breathtakingly arrogant.
@Khadi, I think, Kate prefers taking her family pics herself because the copyright of the photos then belongs to her. It seems to me, that gives more control to them for their family pics. I am not sure if she profits from that as well, but she can authorize or unauthorize the usage of the photo if they belong to her or Will.

I wonder if that’s another issue that made the news services reject it, that the individual parts were not necessarily KP property. Who took the baby bank photos? Who shot the Vogue cover? Does the copyright belong to KP or the individual photographers? Not just that is was purported to be Kate in 2024 and it wasn’t but that the image mish mash was built from multiple photographers who wouldn’t want there work utilized for a scam. When they couldn’t get clarification from the palace they had no choice.

I don’t think that the original photographer(s) would be brave enough to come forward in order to claim their work (their livelihood would be destroyed by the palace & tabloids), but from the agencies’ point, they would be giving cover for both fake date and fake owner. Anyone with a little experience in photography can tell this is a professional photoshoot, looking at the image as a whole. Editing is the bad part, but maybe they didn’t think, the agencies would take a stand against the most famous family in the world.
The photo situation seemed sort of tit for tat there for a moment. Team K knew Team W+KP would do a Mothers Day photo post. Carole pulled a power move with the car pap shot, then KP answered with the doctored photo of K w/o her rings. Then they blame her for the scandal. Then they put her in a car w/W today b/c she is now officially a Spare pawn. The wheels, at least for K, have come off. I hope she takes the payout and leaves to enjoy her children and the rest of her days out of this meat grinder of a family.

She didn’t just have some wrinkles smoothed out, she has been missing for over 2 months and the photo in question, showing a healthy happy Kate and kiddos, was compiled from several older photos so it’s an utter fake. She isn’t healthy and happy, she is missing and this was a clear violation of editorial rules and regulations that must be followed by global news organizations, to which they are legally bound to fact-check all visual material and claims posted on their media.

I don’t think so. This particular photo was editorial and issued by KP to the international press to quell the rumours and conspiracy theories. It is supposed to tell the truth about her state. Heavy photoshopping for a Christmas card, magazine cover or even Instagram would be expected and accepted.

If this is the case, then this photo, which was attributed to William, could cause a legal problem for them, if portions of this picture came from work/photos taken by professional photographers and this work is being attributed to Willy.
