At the end of the day, Barbie only won one Oscar, for Best Song. Margot Robbie wasn’t nominated in Best Actress and Greta Gerwig wasn’t nominated in Best Director. Ryan Gosling and America Ferrera lost in the supporting categories, and Robbie and Gerwig lost in the categories in which they were nominated – Adapted Screenplay and executive producer (for Margot). It felt like they were all choosing to simply celebrate the film and their achievements and they didn’t go into the show thinking that they would win anything. I’m sad about that, because Barbie really was a massive achievement.
Fashion notes: both Margot Robbie and America Ferrera wore Versace. I like that Margot passed the Barbie-pink baton to America, and Margot finally wore something which was not some big Barbie look. I like America’s dress a lot, and Margot’s dress is fine (it’s better from the waist up). Greta Gerwig has been wearing some offbeat looks throughout the awards season, so I like that she went very clean and straight-forward for the Oscars. This gown is Gucci – it’s a bit pale for her coloring, but she looks good. Her jewelry is Boucheron.

This is the best America Ferrara has ever looked. Wow! I loved every bit of this …especially when she was on stage. What a knockout!
America FTW! No question.
Best look of the night IMO!
She is perfection 🔥🔥🔥
Wow! America is a smokeshow in that dress.
This dress was everything.
America’s dress was the B.O.G for me with Zendaya coming in second.
Margot & America looked amazing. Loved their dresses. Greta surprised me with her look. So used to the offbeat stuff.
I thought the three of them looked particularly good together. Slightly bummed that the dresses as a whole were pretty conservative. Not too many chances out there but really nice to see these three women in dresses that fit them so well. America was stunning.
Wow, America looks absolutely drop-dead gorgeous in this dress! It fits her so beautifully and enhances her curves in the best way possible! I also enjoy her shorter hair.
Margot’s hair looks a bit too undone and casual for my liking in the pictures. It would’ve been nicer if they had combed the side back from her face? Don’t know how to explain properly what I mean.
I can’t deal with Margot’s undone hair with every single look.
America looks SPECTACULAR. (Also taking her pic to my hairdresser!)
I agree about Margot’s hair. Her face is so stunning. It should be swept back.
I love imperfect hair. When someone asks beautiful as Margot does perfect hair it can look very Legally Blonde. I like the contrast.
All 3 look so good. America looks phenomenal in that pink dress.
They all look good.
Margot channels Angelina jolie in that dress. Again she can’t model an outfit although she is a pretty woman and the dress is pretty too.
America’s dress was made of chain mail. Christian Siriano was in awe of how well it was fitted to her because it’s not an easy material to work with or wear. She looks amazing
America Ferrera is a total smoke show in her dress. It’s gorgeous and fits like a dream. It’s up there as one of my best of the evening.
I was a bit surprised Barbie didn’t win set design. but then again, if I found any of this surprising I’d have missed the entire point of the movie. it was an amazing success irl. #OscarsSoMale
LOVE America’s hair so much. Love Greta’s look. Margot looks tired and like she didn’t try hair-wise. Nice dress though. I love how the three of them look coordinated.
All 3 of them look gorgeous.
I thought Zendaya was going to be my favourite of the night – but now I’ve seen America she definitely wins. Everything is so on point. Stylistically America and Margot’s dresses look like they belong to the same family and I think Greta’s does too. They complement each other but support America
All 3 looked amazing! And although I really loved Margot’s dress, I noticed during the broadcast that the poor woman couldn’t sit in it! She had to sit tilted back the whole night. Torture!
Greta was her own Oscar statue – love it!
I love their coordinated bling!
America looked FANTASTIC
Hers was one of my favorite looks of the night.
Simply fabulous – love the fabric of these dresses.
America looks 1,000x amazing. I just wish the necklace had been a diamonds-only waterfall pointing to the plunging neckline of the dress.
All three look gorgeous. But I love love love America’s look.
Ryan Gosling was robbed, sorry he gave the performance of the year as Ken.
Also the fact that Barbie didn’t win SETS and Costume is a joke. Like at minimum they should have gotten sets.
I really need Hollywood to move on from all things World War Two. Like I know other stuff won but they really give to much time and awards to that topic.
