I wish I could forget this entire Cyrus family saga, but it is truly the hillbilly soap opera of the year. To recap, Tish Cyrus married Dominic Purcell last summer, with only a few of her children present at the wedding. There was drama behind the scenes, but everyone talked around it at the time. Then, a month ago, we learned that Dominic Purcell was actually dating/sleeping with Noah Cyrus (Tish’s daughter) back in 2022 and into 2023. Sources claimed that Tish knew her daughter was seeing Dominic and Tish went out and “stole” Dominic because Tish believed she saw him first or whatever. Enter into this mix Noah’s older sister Miley, who apparently lied about knowing anything about the Noah-Dominic relationship and Miley also took Tish’s side in the drama. We also heard that Tish is apparently refusing to speak to Noah about all of this and Noah is refusing to speak to Miley. Well, here’s an update:
Tish Cyrus and her husband, Dominic Purcell, have been working on their marriage following the fallout from drama with her daughter Noah Cyrus.
“They’re working on communication and sought therapy together,” a source exclusively shares in the latest issue of Us Weekly.
Us broke the news in March that Noah, 24, had been “seeing” Purcell, 54, when Tish, 56, also started “pursuing” him. Noah, the youngest daughter of Tish and ex-husband Billy Ray Cyrus, had allegedly been involved with Purcell for around eight or nine months. Neither Tish, Purcell nor Noah have publicly addressed the relationship overlap, but previous sources claimed to Us that the mother-daughter duo hadn’t spoken since.
The scandal also affected Tish’s marriage to Purcell, whom she’s been with since 2022.
“It pushed them away from one another [and it’s] going to take time to heal,” a second insider tells Us. Late last month, Tish admitted that there were “definitely issues” in their relationship.
“I was so scared when I first met Dom, my husband, which was not that long ago,” Tish said on the March 28 episode of her and daughter Brandi Cyrus’ “Sorry We’re Stoned” podcast. “But it is crazy because I am a Taurus and he is an Aquarius, and every single thing that I read said, ‘Don’t even do it. This is the absolute worst pairing.’”
According to Tish, she “takes things so personally” while Purcell is “just very blunt.”
“And that could be a problem,” the talent manager explained. “But you know what, this is where I’ve grown, is like, I just feel like instead now of me getting so offended, because I respect and love him, that we have conversations.” She continued, “And instead [of] getting so upset and heated about it, and me not taking it personally, just letting him have an opinion. I’ve never been good at that. These are definitely issues. But issues also, because I love him, that I’m dealing with.”
Tish married Purcell in August 2023 at her daughter Miley Cyrus’ Malibu, California, mansion five months after publicly announcing their engagement. Brandi, Miley and their brother Trace Cyrus attended the wedding ceremony, while Noah and Braison Cyrus notably skipped the occasion. Us even confirmed that Miley, 31, hired armed guards to be posted outside her home in case Noah crashed the wedding.
Going into therapy with your husband of eight months because you stole him from your then-23-year-old daughter… well, yes, therapy is probably needed. For everybody, especially Tish and Noah. If anything, I bet Tish is more worried about “losing” Dominic than she worries about what she’s done to her family. And what the hell is going on with Dominic Purcell? Before this mess, people always talked about how he was a good guy and super-solid. Why is he balls-deep in this hillbilly soap opera? Also: “Us even confirmed that Miley, 31, hired armed guards to be posted outside her home in case Noah crashed the wedding.” You guys. What if they make a movie out of this?

Not in this situation but just in general, that he was a good guy.

I’m so disgusted with this entire situation. Shame on both of them for the hurt & drama & abuse they’ve inflicted.

Re: being a predator – also extremely manipulative , obviously, but her statements about it are telling –
So he is “blunt” when speaking to her (but not honest). while she categorizes herself as “too sensitive”
Which is one way to say “he’s an a-hole but I’ve been conditioned to think its love” but with extra steps.
“He makes me unhappy, but I’m trying to ignore that,” is what I’m hearing.
I’m not sure the issues are solely because of their horoscope signs. Just saying.
I love how she obviously is deep into astrology but didn’t like the warning so decided to ignore it. Like “oops!” I do’t like that answer so I’m going to pretend it doesn’t matter.
Believe in it if you want, but don’t tell me how insightful it is when you are disregarding what it’s telling you.
This, like take some accountability for your actions that you’re both just assholes. One who is a crappy parent who chose a man over her daughter. The other one is a crappy person who used a young woman and then went after her mother.
As a mom of an adult daughter, no, just no! Sleeping with, then marrying someone who slept with my daughter is all kinds of f@cked up! This just makes my skin crawl with how incredibly icky and gross it is. I’m side-eyeing Dom here too, it’s just as gross that he slept with the daughter, then the mom And let their relationship blow up because of him, what a scumbag. Between this family and “that family” over across the pond, medical schools could use them as psychiatric case studies for years to come.
The entire family is so damn messy. Tish and Billy Ray had a weird marriage too.

As for Miley, I don’t think it has anything to do with her, other than them being her (embarrassing) family. Clearly she is closest to her mother so she probably ‘listened to her’, and Noah has some issues with her too ( something about ‘growing up in her shadow’), so she probably is just feeding into those too now.
Hoo boy, between him targeting a 30-years younger 23 year old, and then marrying her mother (after a whirlwind marriage) who’s saying she is “too sensitive” to his “bluntness” but has learned not to “get offended/take things personally” … I’m getting DV heebie jeebies. Fucking RUN to every woman involved.

I’ll stick by my comments the first time this came out, and repeat – Tish is a terrible mother, Domenic is a cad (I have other words that I’m self censoring) – I’m going to hold thoughts on Miley because of complicated relationships and terrible parents. The whole situation is just GROSS.
I’ve seen this about others, but I think it applies here – Tish takes the O and R out of Country!☺
It’s bizarre that the mother refuses to speak to the daughter.
Miley is closest to her mother right now, but I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s closer to the sister a decade from now.
Miley and her mother look so much alike I also wouldn’t be surprised if the guy tries to make a play for her 5 years from now. The saga could get weirder since nothing about what has transpired so far is normal. I’m a little startled by how similar they look. And, of course, he has no problem trying to date younger women.
I think 5 years is quite generous, he moves fast they got together and married in a little more than a year. I can definitely see him going after one of her daughters, if not Miley, then another one. She had already given him the green light that she would choose him over her one of her kids. It’s only a matter of time before he sticks again.

Yikes! The astrological incompatibility is the source of the issues between you?!!!! Come on, you pursued your daughter’s manfriend! What kind of competition must a mother feel to do that?!!!! There is no justification that makes this not gross.
As for those saying that her ignoring his bluntness is toxic or DV, I don’t know? I think it’s a thing that men tend to be direct and some women overanalyze their words (speaking from my own experience with my husband). I also was told in marriage therapy that I was hearing things that he wasn’t saying and had to take a step back before reacting to it. It doesn’t mean you don’t react to anything, just take a pause to make sure he’s saying what you’re hearing. So I think this may be advice from the therapist on their dynamic. Not to say they are not gross and toxic, just saying that I don’t think THIS necessarily is a toxic dynamic.
This is so so so trashy. Tish Cyrus sounds like the worst example of a mom, her husband sounds like he needs to be on a watchlist. If these weren’t people we all knew existed I’d swear this was one of the infamous Reddit stories.
there definitely should be a movie about this saga. but wait 18 months or so for the fallout when he leaves Tish, maybe to go back to the 90210 actress he was with before both of them
I can’t wait for a movie to be made about this whole mess and at the same time I want them to wait to make it because I feel like there are still so many details that we don’t have yet. But also I’m cringing everytime I read an article about that mess, it’s so conflicting.
So crazy. Back in the early 2000s I worked on Billy Ray’s TV series, and Tish would accompany Miley when she appeared on the show. Little Noah had a small role as well and she was just such a cute little button. Seeing all this is so bizarre to me!
