Pink can’t stop talking

Pink visited a Toronto area private high school on Friday to spread her mixed message of sexy female rebellion. It’s nice that she’s trying to reach the youth, but she didn’t say anything we haven’t heard before, and her visit seemed more like another photo op to promote her album:

  • “My definition (of a stupid girl) is any girl who wastes her opportunity trying to be like somebody else, because we’re all pretty awesome.”
  • “You always look at the TV and always see these girls that are really skinny and really pretty — not everyone looks like that.”
  • “Every image we see is you have to be a size zero. you have to have a certain handbag . . . don’t contribute anything to the world just shop all day,” she said.
  • On the topic of boys, Pink told the students to force them “to deal with our minds before our bodies.”

“Guys are going to like us anyway. We don’t have to take our clothes off for them to like us and chase us around. It’s gonna happen,” she said.

  • Pink, there’s a big difference between being 26 and being 16. There’s a lot of pressure on young girls to look and act a certain way, and your comments seem simplistic and dismissive. Then again, maybe we’re just sick of reading about everything you say.

Pink also performed at the Much Music studios that same day.

Here are pictures from Pink’s high school talk and her arrival at Much Music. The Much Music pictures are after the jump.
