Us Weekly: Travis Kelce ’embraced’ Taylor Swift’s fame & she fell for him even more

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s one-year anniversary is happening either right now or soon. We don’t know exactly when they met for the first time, but it was last summer at some point. The longer this goes on, the more I believe that Taylor is going to have to marry this one. While she likes to portray herself as unlucky in love and always being screwed over by boyfriends, I hope her fans can acknowledge that Taylor sabotages herself in some of her relationships. She won’t get away with that sh-t with Travis though – we can all see that he’s different, that he suits her and that he’s the “marrying kind.” So will it happen and when? I don’t know. I was going to say that they’ll wait until her Eras tour is over, but who knows. Anyway, Us Weekly devoted their cover this week to Traylor and “what’s next.” Some highlights:

One great year together: “This has been the best year of both of their lives,” a source exclusively shares in the latest issue of Us Weekly. “[Between] the Super Bowl and their families meeting and traveling the world together, it’s been quite a ride for Taylor and Travis.”

Travis can handle Taylor’s fame: “His life has changed significantly with the increased public attention,” says a second source. “Taylor was worried that bringing Travis into her world would scare him away, but he embraced it and handled it so well.” The source says Travis’ attitude “made her fall in love with him even more.”

Travis bought a new house in Kansas City: A third source says there were some growing pains for Travis, who moved into a $6 million Kansas City mansion shortly after they went public. “People would show up at his house and leave things on his doorstep,” says the source. “It kind of freaked him out at first. He didn’t feel safe.”

He was famous before Taylor: “Travis was a star before Taylor, but this has catapulted him to a household name,” says a fourth source. “He has been handling it the best he can. He’s always had good people around him.”

They’ve mellowed out: “Taylor and Travis are very confident in their relationship, so they don’t have to bend over backwards and travel to see each other for less than a day,” says the first source. Adds the second source: “They’re in an easy era. They have daily FaceTimes when they’re apart and send cute texts to each other. They are wildly in love.”

Hectic schedules. “Taylor and Travis both have a lot of demands in their careers, which allows them the time and space to miss each other,” says the third source. The second source says they also stay connected with “little gestures and gifts to keep the romance alive.” Sources say Swift has never been happier. “Nobody has ever made Taylor feel this way,” reveals the third source. “Taylor and Travis bring out the best in each other and lift each other up. She absolutely sees this going the distance.” Adds the first source: “A year in there is such an ease between them. It seems like they’ve been together longer because they are so in tune.”

Taylor plans to spend more time in Kansas City: Swift will get a three-month break from her Eras Tour between August and November. The first source says she plans on staying at Travis’ home in Kansas City while he plays in the NFL season. “Taylor’s been having fun decorating his Kansas City [place],” says the second source, “and she’s looking forward to the simple joys of being together.” Friends think Swift and Travis are in it for the long haul, but neither one is rushing anything. “They are taking things one step at a time,” says the second source, “and enjoying their journey together.”

I hope they’re in it for the long haul too, just for something different. I know she was with Joe for seven years or so, but they were so quiet and squirrelly about their relationship. Post-Alwyn, Taylor has really made it sound like she was all-in for years and he wouldn’t marry her and so that’s why she moved on to Matt Healy, etc. What I’ve always liked about Travis is his willingness to play the fame game and, not only that, find enjoyment from being attached to such a famous woman. I hope Taylor really does spend her “tour break” in Kansas City. But we’ll see.

For something different I wish she would change her look. I’m in no way a fan, but I’m tired of seeing her bangs/red lipstick/ and sparkly leotards. Don’t her fans get tired of it too?

    • Abby says:

That is the look of The Eras Tour. The sparkly leotard is the Lover era costume (one of like 24 costume changes in one concert). I bet she’ll change her look when the tour is done in December.

    • Lisa says:

I am sure she is as it is her Era’s tour custom. I bet she is super sick of wearing it and counting down the days to not having to.

  2. wolfmamma says:

Well let’s see what’s next in her music now with this big Shift. Looking forward to what’s next honestly.

Meanwhile she has a tour to finish with 43 dates left !! and costumes already prepared so changes not happening yet.

    • LBB says:

Well, I don’t think that tour break is correct as I am seeing her in October in New Orleans.

      • Lisa says:

Have so much fun!! I saw her in LA and it is amazing. I am jealous you get to see the new songs. But I got more Evermore so I am ok.

I wonder if she really does want marriage and the proverbial picket fence or would be happy doing the long term thing like Kurt and Goldie, maybe having a kid, or not, along the way.

    • Lucy says:

I think she wants a Blake Lively/Ryan Reynolds life, or what they’re doing right now. They have kids, their work is more low key and scheduled around them. Blake does a project every year or so, Ryan maybe a little more. They have business interests and can be low key with the kids, but have a New York apartment they can go out at when they want. I can honestly see her being in KC most of the time and then popping out to NY or LA or anywhere else when she wants some attention or excitement. Travis hasn’t been in KC more than a few days this whole off season, I think they can be a good fit there too.

    • Leigh says:

Taylor strikes me as intense and strong-willed, so finding the right person is definitely tough, but she also strikes me as very traditional, and I definitely see her marrying Travis and having kids!

  4. Steph says:

I suspect he’ll cheat. She’s not his type.

  5. JoanCallamezzo says:

They are a fantastic match for each other. He’s a giant green flag. If anyone calls him Mr. Taylor Swift he will be proud not angry. Btw if he had been rude to Huevo everyone would have criticized that, he rocked his USA hat for a reason but was respectful. Who cares about Taylor’s hair and lipstick it’s her signature look and her music is incredible.

    • KASalvy says:

He’s drunk multiple times in speeches and on national television and he’s a “giant green flag”?

      Yikes.

      • JoanCallamezzo says:

He doesn’t drink and drive, so if he wants to drink when he’s not working who are you to judge? Maybe he could curb his drinking and swearing, but he is a giant green flag because of his emotional intelligence, sensitivity, work ethic, accomplishments, dedication to his charities, to his family, I could go on. He’s a good dude and a great match for Taylor. He admires her, respects her and makes her happy.

  6. Constance says:

If she wants kids etc…she can’t wait too long…although the rules aren’t the same for billionaires even in this area lol…anyway they both seem to love the limelight more than anything else

    • mary mary says:

I recently had my annual Pap and told my gynecologist that we miiiiight be starting to think about children, and wether or not we have to hurry (we’re both 35, just like Taylor) and she said absolutely not, not in this day and age. So I guess she’s in no hurry, either.

  7. VilleRose says:

They’ve been a fun ride and if Taylor sabotages this relationship, she’ll only have herself to blame. Travis is clearly all in, he’s been all in since he tried to give her a friendship bracelet with his number. I don’t think a guy has ever embraced her fame and the massive attention she gets wherever she goes (though Tom Hiddleston gets props for his PDA and his I love TS t-shirt even if it didn’t last lol). Travis is also clearly setting himself up for a career post football so I don’t think he’ll be any less busy once he retires from the NFL. And given his brother retired at 36 and Travis is 34, I don’t think he’ll play much longer than his brother did. He’s not just going to sit around at home and watch Taylor create songs. He’s content being known as Mr. Taylor Swift but I think Taylor likes he’s got his own thing going on and is very successful at it.

I think it’s cool that an absolute global superstar is spending her summer in…Kansas City.

    • H says:

It is actually an amazing town! I spent some time visiting a friend there and was completely charmed and suprised by what it has to offer

  9. Jais says:

They seem cute together. It’s cool that he appreciates the uniqueness that her fame brings.

  10. Cass says:

Can we call them TNT instead of Traylor? It’s what they call themselves

  11. julie jules says:

What I like about these two is each seems able to move between the star and the support roles. Generally, even in non celebrity matches, there is often one star and one support system. But Taylor and Travis appear to exchange the baton comfortably and seamlessly.
