The Princess of Wales is still MIA from her tennis-watching duties as royal patron of Wimbledon, but guess who turned up to the Royal Box today? Queen Camilla, in all of her horsey glory. Camilla is legitimately a tennis fan and she’s attended Wimbledon matches for years. I remember hearing that she was a big Rafa Nadal fan, but she’s turned out for a lot of Novak Djokovic’s matches over the years. That’s probably what she was expecting today – the quarterfinal between Djokovic and Alex de Minaur was supposed to be played on Centre Court today but de Minaur pulled out at the last minute (he got injured in his fourth round match). So Camilla is watching (as I write this) Elena Rybakina versus Elina Svitolina, and then a mixed doubles match (featuring a British team), then a legends match. What a weird show-court match schedule, right?
Anyway, Camilla looked nice at Wimbledon, I’m not going to lie. They just did her hair – the white-blonde color looks fresh, as does the blowout. Her giraffe-print dress is a repeat – she wore that last year in Kenya. Chanel purse, low heels. She’s ready to enjoy a day of tennis. Her sister Annabel is with her too. Also: Peter Phillips turned out today with his new girlfriend, Harriet Sperling. He’s gone all-in with her really quickly, this is like their sixth public outing in the past month.

I still can’t abide by “Queen” Camilla. It’s still too weird to see her referred to as “queen”, to see her wearing QEII’s jewelry and tiaras. In my mind she will forever be just Camilla Parker-Bowles, mistress to the Prince of Wales.
