Meryl is seemingly doing this for fun, because she enjoys the people involved. Specifically, she seems to be doing this for her old friend Martin Short. Ever since Meryl joined the cast, there have been rumors that Meryl and Short are quietly dating. We’ve been talking about it all year! The hand-holding, the coy looks, the general romantic vibes… oh, yes. They’re happening. Meryl’s marriage to Don Gummer crashed at some point but I think she’s still technically married? And Short is a widower. I hope they’re having a nice time together, truly. PS… Selena’s LBD is cute!

I’m into it!!!!!
I’m in a similar situation to Meryl’s, actually. My spouse and I went kaput almost 3 years ago. We’re great friends and coparents, but we’re staying legally married for the foreseeable future because of things like health insurance and other things re: our children.
I’m currently dating a great person who, for similar reasons is separated from but still married to his ex, too. We’re not in a hurry to screw over our former partners by divorcing before neither of us want to remarry. So we see each other and remain married on paper. Seems to be becoming more common in my circle.
I love this show and I did not expect to. I’m not a huge fan of any of the individuals or New York or musicals, however, this show is so charming, the sets are so gorgeous, the acting so superb, the comedy so spot-on that I am waiting impatiently for the next season. And if these two are lovebirds it seems quite lovely and I hope they’re happy.
Now this does cheer me up and I love these happy videos : friendship or late flowering love, it’s all good!
Either they are dating, or they are really great friends. Love it for them, doesn’t matter which.
