18 years ago, Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, and Lindsay Lohan made headlines when they were photographed in a car together after a night of clubbing. It was November 2006. I cannot believe it’s been that long, yet it feels like another lifetime ago. That was a completely different age in gossip back then. To me, that picture really sums up the frenetic, paparazzi feeding frenzy at the pinnacle of a chaotic era of celebrity that I hope is in the past. What a time.
We all know what happened next with all three women. Paris and Lindsay, were not getting along when the picture was taken thanks to the infamous “Firecrotch-gate” that had happened the previous May. Paris and Britney, however, have stayed friends all of these years. They even claim to have created the selfie! During an appearance on a livestream with Talk Shop Live last week, Paris shared that she’s still good friends with Britney, who “loves” to visit with Paris and her two babies, Phoenix, 19 months, and London, nine months.
“She loves visiting the babies, especially little baby Phoenix,” Paris shared. “It’s just so cute seeing her with the babies. She just loves kids so much.”
Hilton said that Spears last visited “a couple weeks ago” and danced along with Phoenix to songs from Hilton’s upcoming album Infinite Icon.
As a fixture of Y2K culture, Hilton couldn’t help but reminisce on her 365 party girl days with Spears. She said that blasting her own songs with the singer on a recent playdate reminded her of how they would play Hilton’s 2006 song “Stars Are Blind” on repeat.
“That was all we listened to in the car. Going into the club,” she said. “It was just, like, our anthems for going out at night. It was so much fun.”
While Hilton has remained friends with Spears throughout the years, she previously had a falling out with the third member of her clubbing crew: Lindsay Lohan. On Thursday, she shared that they had “reconnected” during the Vanity Fair Oscars party this year.
Hilton said the pair “just talk[ed] about being moms.”
“[It was] so good to see her,” she said. “She looks so beautiful. [I’m] so happy for her.”
I’m rolling my eyes so hard at the detail that they’d blast “Stars Are Blind” in the car on the way to the club. LOL, that’s such a Paris thing to do, and it fits with the story about Britney coming over to dance around to her new album while playing with her babies. I do believe that they’re still friends who keep in touch, though. Paris was one of the guests at Britney’s and Sam Asghari’s wedding. In Britney’s memoir, The Woman in Me, she wrote about how nice Paris has always been to her, saying, “One of the people who was kindest to me when I really needed kindness was Paris Hilton.”
I’m not sure how frequently Britney is visiting Phoenix and London, but it’s still a very sweet visual. And, I am by no means suggesting “picture or it didn’t happen” here, but I would love to see a video of Auntie Britney dancing with Paris’s kids. I have no doubt that she loves children and would try to connect with them through dancing. Maybe we’ll get a Brit Brit appearance on Paris and Nicole Richie’s upcoming show. I’m not sure if that would make me watch it but I’d absolutely watch the promo clips and whatever scenes showed up on social media.

The gossip era at that time was explosive. What a fun time. I like the idea of these 2 together. Happy they are friends and kind to each other.
I didn’t know Paris was at Britney’s wedding.

I always had the impression that any female celebrity that got in with Paris inevitably fell down a doom spiral afterwards. Like it was part of the protocol to befriend Paris Hilton if you were about to implode your personal and professional life. Interesting to learn now that she is.. actually a kind person???
