By most accounts, Sweden’s Crown Princess Victoria gets along well with her siblings. If there’s drama, it’s kept within the family. Victoria’s sister Madeleine moved out of Sweden for several years, but I think Madeleine and her family are now sort of “half-in” back in Sweden. Meanwhile, Victoria’s younger brother Carl Philip has always lived in Sweden. Carl Philip married Sofia in 2015, and they seem to live quietly and do royal work without any drama. In 2019, the HRH-styling was taken away from Carl Philip and Madeleine’s children, but there wasn’t any huge fallout from it. Well, Carl Philip and Sofia are now expecting their fourth child! The kid won’t have an HRH style but Carl and Sofia don’t seem to care.
Sweden’s Princess Sofia and Prince Carl Philip are about to become parents of four! The royal couple, already parents to three sons, are anticipating the arrival of their fourth child later next year.
A statement shared by the Swedish Royal Household on Sept. 2 read, “Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia are very happy to announce that the Princess is expecting the couple’s fourth child.”
The statement continued that Sofia, 39, “is doing well and the birth is expected in February 2025.” Additionally, the palace confirmed that Princess Sofia’s official schedule for this fall will remain unchanged. The announcement was accompanied by a new photo of the couple in front of a picturesque lake. Carl Philip, 45, beams at the camera while Sofia gently rests her head against his cheek.
Their new arrival will join older siblings Prince Alexander, 8, Prince Gabriel, 6, and Prince Julian, 3.
Carl Philip is fourth in line to the Swedish throne and the only son and second child of King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia. His elder sister, Princess Victoria, 47, is the heir apparent.
The fourth after three boys? Sofia probably has her fingers crossed that she can finally get a daughter. I hope it happens for her! Swedish peeps, what’s the vibe around Sofia and Carl Philip these days? Because from where I sit, while there were early concerns about Sofia being a bit tacky, she’s become a well-liked member of the family and their marriage seems happy and solid. They are, in my opinion, the best-looking European royal couple too.

I will always remember that during the start of Covid she volunteered at a hospital as a janitor. That was what she had to offer and so that’s what she did. I wish them well!

Yes I remember when she volunteered during covid, and Kate did nothing of course. these 2 are the most attractive royal couple in europe, also true. She seems so sweet and he seems to be head over heels for her. Too bad this page only regularly covers the BRF, i’d be in for more royal hotness and hot mess.
Didn’t she also work at a hospital after the initial covid outbreak? I don’t know anything about them except what I read on here, but they seem pretty down to earth (for royals).

While the Swedish Royals seem to fly under the radar, there’s quite a lot of quibbling, sniping behind the scenes.
Sofia has contacts in the press who report unfavourably about Madeleine, her marriage, and her family.
Carl Gustav gave the only dukedom with an income, Södermanland, to CP’s eldest, although it should traditionally have gone to Victoria and Daniel’s son Oscar — the spare. Apparently CG still can’t deal with the fact that the Swedish parliament decided to install Victoria as crown princess/heir apparent — after CP was born.
There’s certainly a lot more, and I’m no expert on Sweden, but a prince, who doesn’t use the title and who’s related to all the nordic royals — and to Lizzie’s cousband — is a colleague, and he’s a bit of a gossip.
The fact that your coworker can be related to almost every royal family is insane. So much inbreeding. At least the current and upcoming generations of Kings and Queens added some fresh DNA by marrying non-royals and foreigners.

I vaguely remember Sophia demanding that Madeline disinvite her best friend from Madeline’s own wedding because her best friend was Carl Philip’s ex and it would bother Sophia, something like that?
This couple mostly keep out of limelight and they have very little royal “work” so there wouldn’t be much to change in Sofia’s schedule. I don’t think people pay much attention to them in general, and there’s hardly a need for them to represent the Royal House. There’s no need for more ribbon cutters in Sweden, so they are more or less like any other wealthy Swedish couple leading a private, comfortable life.
The way Swedish royals handled Madeleine moving to the states for some time should have been the example followed by the BRF, as compared to the mess still going on.
The King’s still pissed off that Carl Philip is not his heir apparent but other than that there doesn’t seem to be much drama in the Swedish family these days. Madeline is back in Sweden on a full time basis. She sold her house in Miami.
