Nicole Kidman is 57 years old. Salma Hayek is 58 years old. It’s insane to think that they’re the same generation and they came up in Hollywood around the same time. They’ve probably known each other socially and professionally for decades and have similar stories about how the industry has changed. Well, Nicole and Salma both attended the Balenciaga show a few weeks ago, and a TikTok of an awkward moment between the two women has gone viral. Here’s the video:

Katy Perry is there too, being sort of blocked out by Nicole. My reaction was that Salma was trying to position Nicole for photos and Nicole wasn’t paying close attention, possibly because of all of the photographers jostling her too. Well, there are now dozens of stories analyzing what happened and whether Nicole and Salma have beef. Page Six got a lip reader, the interaction is being called “frosty” and “tense,” and basically the tabloids are howling “CATFIGHT!!” The truth, according to People Magazine’s insider sources, is that Nicole and Salma just had a weird moment because of the photographers and it’s all good:
Nicole Kidman and Salma Hayek went viral this week for what appeared to be tension captured on video, but a source tells PEOPLE exclusively that the incident has been misconstrued. After a resurfaced video of the pair at the Balenciaga show on Sept. 30 sparked debate online, a source who was there tells PEOPLE “nothing happened.”
“They were being bombarded by cameras at the end of the show while in the middle of a conversation,” the insider adds. “People are looking at clips and making a story out of nothing.”
In the video, the actresses and Katy Perry, can be seen posing for photos. Hayek, 58, puts an arm across Kidman’s body to seemingly position her so she’s facing the photographers. That’s when Kidman, 57, removes Hayek’s hand from her arm, turns away from her to hug Perry and then exchanges a few words with Hayek. Eventually, Kidman walks out of the frame as Hayek and Perry continue to take photos. Another clip shows the two stars smiling together and Kidman rubbing Hayek’s shoulder.
A source close to the women tells PEOPLE, “This whole situation is silly. Salma and Nicole love and respect each other.”
Yeah, of all the would-be beefs in Hollywood, I would never put Salma and Nicole at odds. Plus, this was Nicole’s first public event since her mother passed away in September. Nicole was probably still grief-stricken and Salma understands. That’s what I believe – Salma and Nicole are fine. Check on the pop girls, because I think there’s a mountain of beef between those ladies.

Lights flashing in her face and in a crowd and someone moving her while she’s in a skintight dress and heels at 57. I’m sure Salma meant no harm but I’d panic and snap a little.

I’ve mentioned here before that a good friend of mine’s daughter is friends with Nicole’s older daughter. She’s truly awful in real life. To me, this is a small glimpse of how she is normally but I don’t think there is any beef bc Salma’s husband is way too powerful for her to mess with. Sunday is also insufferable. Faith seems to have taken more after Keith and has a sense of humor and is a sweet girl.
I want to hear more about this and what truly awful means. My mom had a friend who worked with TC & NK in the 1990s and said TC was fairly laid back and NK was more “I don’t talk to the help” vibe
Remember the Balenciaga child bondage photo shoots? Why are any of these people supporting this brand? As far as I’m concerned this needs just as much exposure / investigation as p diddy – none of that happened by accident.
I can’t make out what happened here, and I didn’t hear anything. Now if NIcole removed Salma’s hand and didn’t speak to her, that would be a different matter. Salma has a sweet face. Nicole looks amazing.
Maybe Salma Hayek wanted them to take a picture with Katy Perry and it was just too much for Nicole Kidman lol.
