I don’t have a solid plan for how we’ll cover politics from here on out. Obviously, I’m a huge Democrat and the incoming Trump administration is going to drag the country into the pits of hell. I’m sure we’ll have coverage of all of that, but I simply don’t feel the outrage and anger which I felt throughout the first Trump term. I just feel an almost pure nihilism. This is what a plurality of the country wanted, so this is what they’re getting. Over 74 million of the dumbest people you’ve ever met in your life voted for him, voted to end American ideals and the American project entirely. It is what it is. Nothing matters. Take care of yourselves, take care of your loved ones, and beyond that, watch millions of Americans grapple with the biggest FAFO in history.
Now, all that being said, I have some ideas for what should happen next with the Democratic Party. While there are still House races left to be called, I doubt Dems will have even a narrow majority when all is said and done. If Democrats are totally out of power in the federal government, then again, it is what it is. While there’s a lot of soul-searching, analysis and political postmortems already out there, I’d just like to say that I still believe Nancy Pelosi’s summer schemes and public reticence hurt the party longterm. Pelosi publicly shivved President Biden, plotted to sideline Kamala Harris, then went on a book tour trashing both of them before the election. Now, post-election, Pelosi is admitting what was obvious for months: that her plan was always to pass over Kamala Harris and that she was outmaneuvered by President Biden.
Representative Nancy Pelosi, the former House speaker, suggested this week that it would have been better for the Democratic Party if President Biden had abandoned his re-election campaign sooner and the party had then held a competitive primary process to replace him.
In an interview on Thursday with The New York Times, Ms. Pelosi said what was widely reported around the time Mr. Biden dropped out: that she believed it was implicitly understood that his exit would be followed by an internal party competition for a new nominee, instead of an anointment of Vice President Kamala Harris.
“Had the president gotten out sooner, there may have been other candidates in the race,” Ms. Pelosi said during an interview with Lulu Garcia-Navarro, a host of “The Interview,” a Times podcast. She added during the interview, which will be published in full on Saturday, “The anticipation was that, if the president were to step aside, that there would be an open primary.”
Ms. Pelosi went on: “And as I say, Kamala may have, I think she would have done well in that and been stronger going forward. But we don’t know that. That didn’t happen. We live with what happened. And because the president endorsed Kamala Harris immediately, that really made it almost impossible to have a primary at that time. If it had been much earlier, it would have been different.”
Mr. Biden endorsed Ms. Harris within an hour after he ended his campaign in July, a decision he made only after an intense pressure campaign from Democrats that Ms. Pelosi quietly led. His support for the vice president, along with backing from many other Democrats, choked off any avenue for a challenger to emerge. Over two weeks, Ms. Harris swiftly gathered support from delegates to the Democratic National Convention.
It’s exactly what I said it was back in July. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez rang the alarm for it too – it was never simply a pressure campaign (led by Pelosi, George Clooney and Democratic donors) to push out Joe Biden. It was always a fundamental part of their plan to marginalize and pass over the highest-ranking woman in government, the sitting vice president, a Black and Indian-American woman. This was their big intraparty coup attempt, and they are still pissed that Biden and Harris outmaneuvered them. For what it’s worth, while Biden’s endorsement signaled to Democrats that Harris really was his political heir and people should get in line behind her, Kamala Harris also coalesced the party behind her on her own. She was prepared, she met the moment, and people were thrilled to rally behind her. I don’t get why Pelosi still believes her plot was the correct way to go about any of this.

Nancy Pelosi is making me truly angry.
She lead the push to get Joe to step down, now she is trying to deflect with this bc.
I don’t think it was just Nancy, but I think she was the most public of the Dems pushing for this. From what I’ve gathered a number of the Obama alumni were in on it to (not sure about BO himself). Nancy’s greatest strength is her greatest weakness: politics.
A primary would have ensured less time to coalesce around a candidate and, frankly, I can’t think of anyone who could have run a better campaign. The democrats were in array this time out.
The only way a candidate would have won the white gentile woman vote and possibly taken some white men from Trump would be if they ran an inherently racist campaign making the economy a white identity politics issue.
Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer and the rest of DNC leadership have done a lot of damage themselves by waiting until relatively recently to do any succession planning and not busting their asses to implement changes like rules that prevent members of Congress from profiting from stock trading while in office and even pushing for term limits. Even if those things failed because the GOP would shoot them down, it might have gotten some traction with the “both parties are the same” folks (who are plentiful).
Pelosi is saying this publicly because she wants to blame Harris for the loss knowing that most libs were pretty pissed at Pelosi and the DNC for shenanigans during this race. If they thought Biden wasn’t up to the task, they should have started promoting his VP, Harris, as his successor and ensured she was the face of and able to take credit for administration wins that helped consumers
Nancy Pelosi was a capable Speaker of the House but is a lousy team player
And who would have made a better candidate? We saw all of the contenders in 2020 and we chose Biden and Harris. She ran a flawless campaign. Americans are greedy and selfish. No other Democrat was going to overcome that.
I think all this shoulda, woulda, coulda, is a waste of time for everyone. The very simple truth that Pelosi refuses to acknowledge is that people from both parties plus the independents did not want a Democrat president, leave alone a black woman, in the white house. The 70+ million people that voted for Trump were not Republicans only, both parties had people that knew they were voting for Trump but lied during the polls and said they would vote for Madam Vice President and then turned around and voted for Trump. It wouldn’t have mattered who Pelosi had on the Democrat ticket, most people wanted Trump to come back to the white house. That’s why Trump won by a landslide both on popular vote and delegates. It’s that simple. Pelosi can continue to dream that her scheme would have worked but she is just fooling herself.
Another reason why I believe in term limits.
OMG NANCY STFU – seriously – go away – lost all respect for you this summer.
Co-sign.
The Dems would have lost by even more. There was only 100 days and Kamala wiped the floor with Trump. Every commentary I’ve seen on what Kamala could have done better hold her to a higher standard than Trump.
She shouldn’t have talked about identity politics (yet, Trump’s campaign relied heavily on fear mongering about immigrants and trans people).
She wasn’t far enough left. She wasn’t centre enough. When it really just seems like being a woman isn’t enough.
She never talked about identity politics. Not once. That was Trump and his “beautiful white skin”. Also, he sometimes talked about Kamala not having the necessary “quality” to be president while he did. Then he would say, “We all know what that is (🍆)”. His entire campaign was based on his white maleness. It was enough. Even a white male Democrat wouldn’t have overcome blatant racism and misogyny.
Agree. Trump ran a campaign on racism and misogyny.
White straight male is the default identity, so apparently when Kamala spoke about women’s rights it was identity politics. And when Trump makes up lies about legal immigrants or transgender people it isn’t.
This exactly. Anyone with half a brain and not racist/sexist knows Kamala did an amazing job and should be president-elect now. I am in mourning for what could have been, she would have been fantastic, and such an inspiration.
If Biden had made it clear early on, like 2-4 years ago, then I could have understood a primary, but FFS it was like 100 days before the election.
Shoulda, coulda, woulda, The Democratic party completely screwed this all up. Trump just had to sit back and count of misogyny (again). To put him back in the White House.
Now Trump has 4 years to do whatever the hell he wants. Does not have to worry about a re-election. And this will set up a regime well past his second term. With the cronies he is putting in place.
I am more worried about an 8 year (or more) Vance Administration.
This time the Trumps and their ilk are smarter and know what to do in the White House.
Thank you for bringing up Vance. His name hasn’t been brought up much since the election and he did disappear for a while. Probably because he actually WAS hurting the turds campaign. But just like that sushi consumed from a gas station, he’s about to rear his ugly head and come back to haunt us soon enough. Just like his boss, he has shown us who he is and he means what he says. Trump is laughable compared to what Vance has in store for us.
Yeah… If Trump was to accidentally fall off some stairs on Jan 23, 2027, Vance could technically be POTUS for 10 years without having to modify the constitution. I’m pretty sure it’s part of the plan
Please. She and Clooney don’t want to own it. Nancy was saying two weeks ago that she should be thanked for what she did.
And no, Biden wouldn’t have lost and I’m over it. We know it. She lost major endorsements. And tons of white people hated her and how this was done. An open primary was even more stupid and more would have sat home.
I can’t disagree with Nancy because the democratic way (and I don’t mean Democratic Party way, just democratic as a concept) would be to hold a primary and select from there who would be the one to represent. I just don’t like how they pushed an ultimatum on Biden, especially with the quality of work he’s done. I also hate how Nancy is the messenger, and how everyone basically strong-armed him. Kamala is the most capable, of course, but this isn’t a monarchy where it’s hereditary.
I think these people wanted a white man on top of the ticket come hell or high water and to be honest, while we can do all the post-mortems about “economic anxiety” and lack of understanding of working class needs, racism and sexism did play a significant role. I agree that Kamala managed to meet the momentum and coalescing the party but I also think that a proper primary a year ago would have gotten her more time to strategise against the incumbency curse.
Someone help me out with a civics lesson please. If things had gone according to Pelosi’s plan, would that mean the Kamala would have automatically lost her position of VP? Is there was a mini primary, does that mean both the presidential and VP ticket would be up for grabs with Harris only staying VP off the new presidential nominee chose to keep her?
The new nominee would have chosen their own VP pick. If it was Newsom as some speculated, then e would not have had Kamala as VP – they would not have 2 Californians on the ticket.
The tradition has been that presidential candidates choose their own VPs. We often forget, though, that political parties are private entities, that make their own rules — and change their own rules, along with making deals behind the scenes.
If there had been a mini-primary, the expectation would be that VP Harris would have been included as a potential candidate— although that would not have been a requirement. The winner of the primary would then chose their VP — like Harris interviewed several possibilities and then chose Tim Walz. With a primary, then, Harris could have ended up as the nominee, could have been chosen as a VP by a new nominee, or could have been left off the ticket altogether.
Kamala Harris was quite simply sabotaged by stooges like Jen O’Malley Dillon and Rob Flaherty. VP Harris was fighting an uphill battle with campaign managers that don’t know the first thing about actually managing a winning campaign. They torpedoed Beto in 2019, they torpedoed Biden in 2024, and now they’ve torpedoed Harris as well. Jen and Rob should be completely ostracized from the party and polite society going forward.
They’re playing the blame game on a political corpse in order to justify for their lack of beforehand vision. Which Dem would have accomplished what Kamala didn’t? Sanders? Too old… Buttitieg? Let’s not even think the chance he stood with an electorate that picked Trump over Harris.
Seriously, the problem is there was no Dem candidate able to raise a movement remotely close to Trump’s fan base in terms of voting. They should have been working on it for the whole of 2023. Joe and Kamala did their best, and this tiny bish knows it.
Sanders makes me crazy. He acts like he’s not a year older than Biden. He just got re-elected at 83. Apparently, some of his constituents are sick of him too since he underperformed Kamala in Vermont.
None of this matters.
Our country is filled with racist garbage.
Its over.
We deserve the corruption we get. We’re too stupid to deserve better- as a whole.
I wholeheartedly agree. I HATE the ‘what if’ game but admit to doing it myself. What if VP Harris had done and said everything the same, ran the same flawless campaign, but been a white man? Would the outcome had been different? Would millions of more people gotten off their asses to vote? Maybe, but it doesn’t matter. That just proves how much racism and sexism are alive and well, even on the left. It still doesn’t negate the fact that half of this country is literally TRASH that thrives on hate with a thirst for blood. They are all nazis, full stop, and they are never going away. I would welcome being abducted by space aliens at this point.
You are absolutely correct. It’s over. There will be no more free elections so none of this matters. It’s done.
I am implementing a plan step by step everything from setting up a Canadian bank account (don’t let the nazis steal your money and belongings) to getting my dog his rabies certificate so he can come with me. I really wish I were 20 years younger right now, but these are the cards dealt. I never saw this coming before 2016. That year (2016) was the first year I started to take steps to get my son his Canadian citizenship. Thank God I did this. It took 8 months for it to arrive. Now I just have to get my head down and move quickly and quietly.
It’s overwhelming and there are 9000 things to do before I can leave. It will all get done. I hope everyone is putting together some sort of plan. Don’t let people gaslight you into thinking it will be safe here. It will not. Remember when people were saying Trump was just being racist to get into the WH and he wasn’t really racist (cause Mexicans are rapists isn’t racist sure Jan he’s just joking around) and now look, mass deportations. And I promise you they will be carried out in the most violent way possible. Another thing being thrown around de-naturalization. There’s even going to be a number people can call to report suspected “illegals” who do you think is going to get called on? We’re headed towards South Africa’s apartheid where anyone can stop you to ask for your papers.
Tune out the gaslighting and get your plan in place. Vance is far, far more dangerous than Trump.
Careful out there CBers. It’s about to get real dangerous here for marginalized groups and for ALL women. I will never forgive anyone who voted Trump or didn’t vote. I’m done. As soon as I suspect you’re a Trumpster I walk away leaving you hanging in mid sentence.
@Side Eye….you are absolutely correct. Posted here under another topic today that I was lucky speaking with my sister yesterday who reminded of a conversation she had last February with one of our cousins who lives in NY. He told her of his plans to visit/move abroad. When I texted him yesterday he informed me he would be moving next month and suggested I come to his location, then, the two of us could fly to my destination. Speeding up process to get house ready for showings. Be safe and peace to everyone.
I and others on this site, were shouted down when we warned people about the potential disaster Pelosi’s very public attempt to oust Biden and by extension Harris.
She and the Podbros are desperately trying to throw everyone else under the bus but it won’t work.
Pelosi has ruined her legacy in the eyes of the base of party and the grassroots activists. She did wonderful things and stood between Trump and the apocalypse on many, many times for which we are all grateful.
But she needs to sit down and shut up and retire before the 2026 mid-terms (if we ever have them)
Reagonnomics destroyed the economy and put too much wealth and power into monopolies and special interest groups. The current booming economy really isn’t working for the majority of citizens. We really, really need term limits and campaign finance reform. Pelosi, like Moscow Mitch, has a huge personal fortune that is suspicious. She needs to retire and let others have a place. She represents the wealthy California elite and that is it. She has no broadbase of appeal that can reclaim the former democratic voters who have bled into the magats. She has done good deeds in the past, but those days are long gone she is hurting the party and helping the elite she actually represents at this point.
Yes, Reaganomics truly changed the US with its notion of trickle down economics, or more appropriately “trickle on” economics. Tax cuts for the wealthy, running up the deficit, creating the blueprint for the Bushes and Trump. Those elections were nauseating. But Trump takes everything to the nth degree, he brings more treason and a serious death toll to the mix. Nancy isn’t part of any solution here so she should bless us with her silence.
Nancy Pelosi is totally delusional if she thinks there would have been a different outcome with a different candidate. Yes, Kamala’s race and gender worked against her. But a different candidate would have had other problems to contend with and probably would have had more trouble exciting the base. The American electorate wanted the convicted felon who promised to punish the people they hated. That’s what they got. And Pelosi and other Democrats should stop excusing the evil which was committed with speculation that Dems could have gotten a better outcome if they had “an open primary” somehow, someway.
Agreed. As I am seeing more vote counts come in, Kamala Harris is looking to exceed Donald Trump’s 2020 vote count — it’s just that unfortunately, Trump himself got more votes and is moving closer to Joe Biden’s 2020 vote count. The percentage breakdown seems to indicate that it was a tight race in terms of the popular vote.
We can do one million post mortems here, but we really need to understand that at the end of the day, more voters really were for the racism and misogyny + so many of them were just so selfishly focused on the price of eggs and gas. If we had the ability to look into alternative timelines where Josh Shapiro or Gavin Newsom were the nominee, I am doubtful the outcome would have been all the different. Given the circumstances, Kamala Harris did really, really well. It’s just that our country has taken an extreme right wing lurch and it was something that the most perfect Democratic campaign could not overcome.
Korra << "many of them were just so selfishly focused on the price of eggs and gas"
OR is it perhaps YOU that is selfish? Suggesting its selfish for others to worry about their finances. Ppl are living paycheck to paycheck and u sound like an elitist snob
I come from a working class background, so miss me with labeling everyone who does not agree with you as an elitist. I just happen to understand that while inflation was a difficult pill to swallow, it was starting to level out — the price of gas is under $3/gallon in a lot of places across the country. And explain to me how people are shopping and enjoying restaurants at an all-time high. I know someone in the travel industry who said expect an overwhelming and possibly record-breaking holiday season. There are Americans are absolutely living paycheck to paycheck, but let’s not pretend that people weren’t being selfish either, especially because consumerism is baked into our culture. And interesting how you conveniently overlooked my comments about bigotry too. Since you are disingenuously extrapolating from my initial comment, guess it’s cool that I can do the same and come to the conclusion that you think racism, misogyny and the chipping away of human rights that will happen under this upcoming administration is a perfectly valid reason for voters to vote the way they did?
Shut up Nancy. You have nothing to offer for the future. Bye girl.
The Democrats love to talk about the efforts of Black women to rescue the party from its missteps and BS. All this finger pointing and recriminations and suggestion that Harris wasn’t IT will do little except destroy vibrant coalitions her run energized. She brought out folks who gave up on voting because they thought the system wasn’t for them. This finger pointing in the post loss autopsy will lead to cynicism.
The GOP aren’t the only ones uncomfortable with Black leadership. I’m hearing a few white Democrats claiming that Democrats didn’t do enough to activate poor whites’ support. Why did they expect the Black woman to do everything? Why aren’t they calling out white democrats for not holding up their parts, if they believe that was an issue. I assure you Black women and men were busy working theirs and adjacent demographics.
This was a coalition campaign . It was an American quilt of support starting with BLACK WOMEN FOR KAMALA, followed by every variation (including Republicans!?!) “———“ FOR KAMALA. Black women started and everyone showed up to the picnic with their own contributions. I’ve rarely seen so much public inclusivity and mindful joy in a political movement.
The approach was exciting, fresh and innovative. It had the best use of non-legacy media.
I know tons of Black folks were PISSED about Pelosi’s move against Biden. If Pelosi thinks she could have shiv a Black woman, and that Black folks would have continued to work that hard for a party that use them as disposable donkeys, then she is mistaken. She would have proved there is no difference between the two parties.
It’s possible that it was the very inclusivity of the coalition that scared some voters into voting for the shell of a man with 1700s sensibility. Some white politicians are happily dragging the US Back into the antebellum period with the state sponsored execution of innocent Back men with state and federal supreme courts’ blessing.
Stacy Abrams in Georgia, and Kamala Harris’s loss on the federal level NEEDED extensive, systemic, unethical voter suppression and electoral interference to pull off. Yes the US is hella sexist and racist but it’s closer to enlightenment than a bunch of white billionaires want the population to believe.
.
Also, I’m really tired of being told that a bunch of people who drive $60,000 gas guzzling pick up trucks had no choice except to vote for Trump because of the high price of eggs. SMDH.
Before the Biden coup was executed, when the media started the “Biden is old” attacks, with nary a mention of Trump’s age or mental acuity, members of the Black community were saying the quiet part out loud, “IT’S NOT BIDEN’S AGE, IT’S KAMALA RACE.”
The Democratic party leadership was afraid that if Biden couldn’t finish his term, then Kamala would rise to the presidency and that made the leadership uncomfortable. So of course they didn’t just wanted Biden out, they wanted Kamala to get to the back of the line, or fight for HER position AGAIN.
The efforts Black women put in for the Democratic Party far outweigh their numbers in the population. While they have begun to get some recognition for their work, it isn’t commensurate with their efforts. [Im not saying they are the only ones that do the work, but they have been consistent despite repeated disappointments. Black women trained in the Black church are used to working for the cause and not getting the “glory”. But working for God and working for the Dems are two different things. One is way easier to leave.
I agree that Biden should have abandoned his re-election ampaign full stop. However, I dislike that word, “sooner.” Since Biden chose to run again, he should have gone through a proper, rigorous primary. I rely on the top brass of the Democratic party for that…Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, et al…they should have set up THAT primary last year. They did not.
Complaining that Biden didn’t step down earlier so there could br a mini primary is ridiculous! First off, Kamala Harris ran a great campaign and actually won voters back. Horrifically, this could have been much, much worse. Next, legally she had a right to Biden’s war chest of donor money. Otherwise each and every donation (and the Democrats were behind Trump’s money machine at the time) had to be okayed from the donor for someone else or returned. That is a nightmare. Legally (Trump failed to make this stick) there was a question IF Biden could even be replaced, and Biden needed to step down himself or be 25th Amendmented. Imagine a Democratic coming in after a mini primary where Trump et al go after the legality of the opposition for months? Answer that.
” Take care of yourselves, take care of your loved ones, and beyond that, watch millions of Americans grapple with the biggest FAFO in history.”
This is my entire plan for the next four years. Cocoon and keep safe. xoxo
It feels like Nancy couldn’t resist a chance to say “I told you so.” I think she needs to take a seat. Kamala is the VP and is next in line, period. I doubt any of Nancy’s choices would have faired better (Newsom? Maybe in 2028 if he successfully blocks Trump’s antics).
Anyway, someone to google is Curtis Yarvin. Apparently, his “neo-monarchy” idea is a big hit with Trump & co. He claims democracy is a failed experiment and it needs to be replaced with a “CEO/king” who answers only to a ruling billionaire class (the 1 percenters). It also includes the buyout of American media by tech companies and billionaires to control the weak-minded masses. I mention this only because it seems to be how things have played out so far with the Supreme Court presidential immunity ruling and mainstream media being overtaken by Bezos and Murdochs, etc. I think it’s important to understand the far-right’s specific motivations in order to deal with and block their bullshit.
Trump and Vance want an American Oligarchy.
I think we HAVE an American oligarchy with Trump. We saw horrifically biased reporting from the NYT, Wash Post, CNN. A Scotus marked by dark money delayed Trump’s trials and gave him greater immunity than previously. Those trials should’ve happened. With Musk, Peter Thiel, Silicon Valley tech guys and Putin contributing, I don’t trust that the outcome was on the up and up.
I began to dislike everyone who went after Biden and dismissed Harris.
Looking at you too Clooney
Did Biden not say that he would only serve one term? If they didn’t want Harris to be the “successor” either Joe or the Dems should have made moves to deal with that. It seems to me that the Dems did not take care of grooming someone to take Biden’s place.
Harris was an excellent candidate and ran a great campaign. She was supremely qualified. Can anyone else have done a better job being thrown in like that?
Also, I heard rumblings about problems with voting machines and vote count again. How come there is not talk about that from the Democrats? I’m wondering if there is any substance to that? Some of us north of the border are as devastated as you. When will the universe rebalance?
Nancy’s machinations could have been even worse if Harris wasn’t solid candidate. What was Pelosi thinking, pushing for such change so close to election? I wondered if she was deliberately sabotaging – with so little time, infighting to select a new candidate could have been a total disaster. Showing such a lack of faith in Democrat leadership so late in the game was surely damaging- did it cause voters to lose confidence, signify big problems w/in the party?
And if age is a disqualifier, then step down, Nancy. They all knew Bidens age for 4 f*cken years. Why attempt a last minute substitution, when there was ample time to promote and prepare alternate candidates for FOUR F*CKEN YEARS?
Nancy is 3 years older than Joe. When there was pressure for her to retire around 2022 by younger members of the House, she was supported, defended. Nancy questioning Bidens ability due to age puts her under scrutiny as well. With this kind of move, I’m questioning her cognitive abilities and loyalty to the country.
She is a strong fighter, but not without her controversies. Shes lately coasted on peoples protective feelings for being a focus of the insurrectionists and the intended target of the attack on her husband.
Shes hit peak hubris …will reap the sh*show she helped create along with the rest of us

Can I use this post to ask the American Celebitchies two questions: 1) why does it take some districts so long to count? Especially in California it has been almost a week now and in some districts they are at 70% of votes counted. How is that possible? 2) if I look at the numbers, Trump only had one million votes more than last time, while Harris had nine million less than Biden? Do you know why so many Biden voters stayed home? For me as a foreigner it is baffling, out of a population of 335 million (with 244 million having a right to vote) 75 million vote for Trump and now the entire country has to suffer? Because 90 million did not care? Or are the barriers that high?
The barriers are very low, the states that turned blue have no id required or no photo id. only 2 blue states require ID. and they are not big.
its very easy to vote. when ppl dont do it, its bec they dont wish to.
also maybe dont go here for political advice. these are EXTREME leftists. and hateful of any dissent.
America pretty much consistently has low voter turnout. It’s even worse for local elections and midterms. The issue in 2024 was always going to be turnout and there were huge red flags and warning signs that the establishment ignored – thinking that calling Trump a facist was enough to get people to vote against him.
The Party needs to start listening to folks on the ground and in the trenches; like Latino Dems in the SW have been saying for years that the Dems don’t grasp how culturally conservative a lot of Latinos are.
There are a lot of reasons why the Dems got clobbered, turnout made the biggest difference. But the Dems can be real dumb and just based on what’s being leaked, they are already taking all the wrong lessons from defeat. SMH.
The time to have pushed Biden out was after the 2022 mid-terms. This would have given other Democratic politicians the green light to declare their candidacy and then we could have an open primary. But once Biden decided to run again, no self-respecting Democratic politician who had real aspirations was going to challenge him.
The Dems never learn. They need to stop this very public finger pointing NOW. It only makes them look worse; they come across as incompetent and amateur.
The election is over. They lost and instead of this very public fighting and chaos they should be reorganizing and coming up with a strategic and coherent plan for the next two years in hopes of making gains at midterms…..
They just never learn. Never.
Thank you for simply saying it. Nihilism. Pure homegrown nihilism. All the reading and research into how’s and why’s is fine for study, sure. But that’s not it for me. Was it stolen? Sure, many layers, and we’ve dissected these layers for years. Our country let us down. No wait. We haven’t been let down, we’ve destroyed ourselves. And repulsive despots will be in charge. I have no hope. I have hate and anger. He won. In so many ways, the antichrist won. And the ONLY way out is through, and we know exactly what that means. So I’m taking defense classes, being seen by my doctor, adding my maiden name to my ss (why? I don’t fucking know), buying a gun. I’m scared shitless. I hate white people but I’m going to have to stomach them (every time I look in the mirror).
Sorry, lol, Pelosi’s the least of our concerns. 😁
I say that’s it’s not done until it’s done. So many irregularities have happened that I think investigations are ongoing. Did you see that Alfie Oats’ house and business was searched? The agencies involved make me wonder if this has to do with the elections. Let’s wait and see what comes next.
“I don’t get why Pelosi still believes her plot was the correct way to go about any of this.” Uh, because the Dems lost?
The biggest error isn’t what Pelosi proposed, it’s the timing. That phrase “never change a horse mid-stream” comes to mind. Biden should’ve known if he was gonna run or not way earlier, not change his mind after his poor debate performance. There should’ve been a primary well before that so whoever was picked had enough time to introduce themselves to the country. Harris only having 100 days was much, much, much too short of a span to gain the trust of undecideds.
