Angelina Jolie was mobbed by hundreds of fans in Paris last night

Angelina Jolie has fans around the world – she is truly a global icon, beloved everywhere. But I don’t think anyone loves her harder than the French. Whenever Angelina is in Paris especially, she’s mobbed by French fans. Last year, in Paris, when she simply exited a small event for Guerlain, she was swarmed by a crowd of hundreds of fans who had gathered for a glimpse of La Jolie. Well, Angelina is currently in Paris, working on a film called Stitches. Her kids are with her too – in recent days, she’s been seen with Zahara and Pax. Well, last night, Angelina merely exited her Paris hotel and she was absolutely mobbed. She even stopped to sign some autographs and take some photos.

There aren’t many celebrities left with this kind of glamour, let’s be honest. It’s also sort of perfect that Angelina was mobbed in Paris on the same day Netflix began streaming Maria, the bulk of which is set in Paris. The film is gorgeous, and it absolutely felt like a love letter to Paris in certain places. I watched Maria last night and Angelina is fantastic in it. I agreed with some of the critics who said that the “Angelina singing opera poorly” parts kind of fell flat because the general audience isn’t knowledgeable enough to understand what the song is supposed to sound like. But all of the non-singing parts were beautifully done and well-acted – she did this Katherine Hepburn-esque transatlantic accent and she only speaks in these bizarre pronouncements as she’s downing handfuls of pills. The clothes, the set design, the wig work… perfection. Also: Valeria Golino’s cameo was incredible.

I just read an (unauthorized) biography of her and wow, I had nearly forgotten how she used to be, especially before and during the Billy Bob years, as I had gotten so used to elegant, mindful and shy Angelina. It’s so beautiful to see how far she has come!

Her last ex-husband may have gotten Hollywood in the divorce, but Angelina definitely got Paris.

    • Freya says:

He didn’t even stay with Hollywood, because he expected Hollywood to snub Angelina, but they are praising her for Maria, giving her ovations and nominating her for awards.

    • Alwyn says:

Angelina Jolie is living and loving her own life. For once and for all, please stop mentioning her former husband. She doesn’t need the constant reminders and neither do we.

I like Angelina and I hope Maria is well-received. But this is hardly what I’d call being mobbed. She looks chic as always.

We absolutely adore her in france. Some of our biggest TV show hosts here run into her at a restaurant recently in Paris and they talked about it on TV and on the radio they were startruck, said they always thought her beauty was overrated until they saw in person and she was spectacular in real life everyone was staring at her and she was so beautiful and kind, wearing very little make up and looking incredible.

She’s beautiful. Classique. Iconique. I love her arc. I love that she was this beautiful weirdo bad girl in her wild 20s and Gia days, then the cultivated all her star power and worldliness and eleganza into this chic ambassador of what real celebrity looks like. She seems so lovely. She’s royalty.

Thanks Kaiser for always writing so positively about Angelina. I’ve been reading this blog for a long time and I truly appreciate that you’re always rooting and hyping up our girl!
