People were curious to see if Kendrick Lamar’s discography would get a “Super Bowl bump,” given he was the first solo hip-hop act to ever perform at a Halftime show. Kendrick didn’t even have to do any deep cuts from his early albums for his entire discography to make their way back on to the charts. Older songs are recharting too. The Halftime Show was global, and Kendrick has been trending and charting in South Korea, Japan and across Asia. I saw a TikTok analysis which was basically like… the Asian interest in Kendrick is unprecedented and he needs to add some Asian tour dates ASAP. People are still meme-ing the f–k out of his Halftime performance too.
In any case, Drake had some idea of how bad it was going to be for him, which is why Drake not only fled the country, he fled the continent of North America. Drake has been in Australia for the past month, doing his Anita Max Win Tour and dropping a poorly-received album on Valentine’s Day. The album briefly went to #1, then quickly dropped in sales, streams and interest as people continued to listen to Kendrick. Well, now something curious is happening… Drake is canceling/postponing the rest of his tour. Hm.
Drake’s Anita Max Win Tour is ending earlier than expected. The “God’s Plan” rapper, 38, has canceled his remaining tour dates for his Australia and New Zealand concerts due to “a scheduling conflict.”
“We are actively working on rescheduling these dates along with adding some additional shows,” the statement, first obtained by Rolling Stone, reads. “All tickets for the affected shows will remain valid for the new dates. Refunds will be available for those who prefer, but please note that as these shows are sold out, any refunded tickets will be released for sale.”
The statement continues, “We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience. Drake and the entire team have had an incredible time doing these shows and are excited to return soon.”
“We look forward to sharing the rescheduled dates with you as soon as possible,” the statement concludes.
PEOPLE reached out to Drake for comment and did not receive an immediate response.
Drake kicked off his Anita Max Win Tour on Feb. 4 at RAC Arena in Perth, Australia. He made stops in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, along with a couple of surprise sets for fans at two Melbourne hotspots. The remaining shows that have now been canceled were one in Brisbane, one in Sydney and two in Auckland, New Zealand.
How can you have a scheduling conflict within a tour which you organized and scheduled? Artists have to clear their schedule and time everything precisely to maximize their time/energy for tours because there are so many moving parts and so many staffers involved. It sounds like “scheduling conflict” is code for “Drake just wanted to be on the other side of the world for the Super Bowl and now he’s bored with being in Australia.”
An OVHoe source spoke to the Breakfast Club:
Hey guys — we (@breakfastclubam ) exclusively spoke to a source who’d know on Drake’s “scheduling conflicts” that resulted in tour date cancellations.
We asked .. what the conflicts actually were ..and here’s what the source told us … pic.twitter.com/DcJLpbjp6X

“Anita Max Wynn”…is so …CORNY
Is that supposed to be “I need a max win”? Because, yes, Drake, you do. Right now, you’re taking Ls left and right.
Yes. That’s exactly what he was going for. CORNY.
I have to ask. Are any of you fans? If so, why?
One look at his duck face selfies…I could NEVER.
I was never a fan, per se, but I felt like a lot of the hate he got was undeserved, just because he was an actor and also sang (in addition to rapping). But now, I see “why” everyone was hating on him.
Don’t @me, I kind of feel sorry for Drake. Kendrik completely eviscerated him and “took” Drake’s success. I will wait for other comments to say what the OVHoe source said, because I refuse to click on any links from that nazi platform.
He’s just doing the we canceled because the artist was ” exhausted” from the 90s. I find it hard to believe that when they were planning out the logistics of the tour and setting dates and booking arenas, no one, not drake, his management, the tour provider, his bodyguards, the dancers, none of them realize that they had a 12-day break in between shows? That just logistically does not make sense. The people that are setting up the shows to transfer the stage equipment from place to place have to have something in place already before they get down there they can’t do that on a daily basis which means that they know what time everything has to be packed up and what time it has to arrive at the next stop to be unloaded and set up in time.
That’s why during the Renaissance tour Beyoncé literally had three different stages that she sent ahead to the next two stops each time. The real issue is that the tour wasn’t selling well. They were documenting it online that they were selling tickets for $19 the day before the first tour date. I don’t feel a lick of sympathy for him though. Plenty of incredibly successful rappers have lost beefs and gone on to continue to be successful, it’s his actions after the beef that is making him so disgusting to everyone else and causing the loss of interest.
$19 for a ticket the day before the concert? Ouch.
That makes no sense.
Once again, Kaiser’s choice of pictures is HILARIOUS. Tell us the full story without telling us.
I didn’t have the chance to fact-check myself, but I read that especially expensive seats weren’t selling well. So, if the sold tickets didn’t justify the cost, it is understandable why they were cancelled. It sucks for the fans who bought a ticket though. That is how you lose support from your own audience.
For a long time all Drake bragged about was charts. I noticed after the beef, his features with other small artists didn’t chart anywhere near top 3. In the past, the artists knew that if they get Drake on their song, it would go to number 1. It seems, this isn’t the case anymore. He lost a lot of power in the industry. Jay-Z also lost a rap beef, but he didn’t act like Drake, so it didn’t affect his career much. His decline is the result of his own behavior.
