Tina Brown has even more ghastly sh-t to say about the Duchess of Sussex

Tina Brown continues to have a huge problem with the Duchess of Sussex. For Tina Brown, it’s almost exclusively a problem with Meghan too – one of Brown’s biggest complaints is that everything Meghan does is dated, yet Tina also believes that Meghan is the one “in charge” and Prince Harry follows Meghan’s lead in all things. Which is a pretty dated, ill-informed, and evidence-free theory on the Sussex marriage. Last week, Brown had a bug up her ass about With Love, Meghan. Brown said, in part, that WLM “was a cultural fossil…She’s always brilliant behind the curve, Meghan. You know what I mean? This was like flashback to 2013 to the era of The Tig, her blog.” Brown said all of that and more during her appearance on The Ankler podcast. Well, Tina decided to flesh out this hot take in her Fresh Hell substack, devoting two full pages to “Everything Meghan does is wrong, because I said so!” Some lowlights from Fresh Hell:

Meghan’s perfection in Trump’s America: With her unerring instinct for getting it wrong, Meghan has come out with a show about fake perfection just when the zeitgeist has turned raucously against it. Trump’s America is a foulmouthed and disheveled cultural place where podcasters in sweaty T-shirts, crotch-rot jeans, and headphones achieve world domination on YouTube. The real person of the moment is Pamela Anderson with her proudly wan bare face. As early as 2015, the lifestyle OG Martha Stewart understood the tide was turning against over-produced flawlessness when, as she put it, she dug herself out of “a f–ing hole” of Martha hate by trash-talking her own mistakes at a Comedy Central roast of Justin Bieber. Meghan, on the other hand, has never figured out a convincing persona. Masquerading as an influencer, she’s the ultimate follower, which inevitably means she is behind the curve.

This is Tina Brown’s version of Meghan: The series Meghan should have made is the story of what a flaming flop the last five years have been. Candor at last. If she had shown us that truth, with door-slamming scenes of her shrieking “find me an effing project” at the multiple “brand consultants” revolving through her Montecito manse, and Harry conked out on a sofa in his earbuds, the British public would be clamoring to have her back.

Eight years ago: How on point with the era she seemed then, the biracial beauty who, despite bringing out the worst misogyny in the tabloid press, became a feminist influencer the world – and Prince Harry – could rush to defend. To sign on as a royal, she had to close down her successful blog The Tig, a lifestyle/female empowerment mash-up that was a strenuous knockoff of Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop ethos. It presented a Diptyque candle-scented world sprinkled with celebrity girlfriend crushes, humanitarian shout-outs for fashionable liberal causes, and bath products made by women survivors of domestic abuse. Wreathed in social justice umbrage and posing barelegged in daring strapless Ralph & Russo haute couture for Vanity Fair, she was the great youth and diversity connector the House of Windsor sorely needed.

Meghan used to be super-popular: It’s worth remembering that during that blazing year of her courtship and engagement to Harry, she even eclipsed beloved, relentlessly appropriate royal icon Kate Middleton, who had succumbed without a murmur to royal pantyhose and taken five years to appear on the cover of Vogue muffled in a brown suede Burberry coat. To the discomfort of the then Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the New York Times proclaimed the newest royal couple “young, diverse and exuding cool.”

Meghan is impatient: The trouble with Meghan is, she’s just too damn impatient. Who announces a new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, and hounds celebrity friends to talk up her strawberry jam on social media, without doing due diligence on the availability of the trademark?

The Sussexes should have stuck around the UK: It didn’t take a rocket scientist to know that, at age 94, the monarch clearly had only a few years more to live, at which point the family chess pieces would start to move around the royal power board. All Meghan had to do was shut up and wait. Go quiet for a couple of years, start a family, keep her eyes trained on the splendid royal real estate that would soon come up for grabs. (As it is, King Charles is so overhoused, he could sleep in a different palace every night.) The moment William ascended to his role as Prince of Wales, there would have been new global gigs and red carpet roll-outs raining down on the Sussexes’ heads. But no. Offered the Commonwealth or Netflix, the Sussexes, with naïve avarice, chose Netflix— AND a three-book deal, AND a Spotify podcast contract— forgetting the dread obligation to grind out successful “deliverables” they mostly failed to deliver. The commercial blockbusters of the Harry & Meghan documentary and Harry’s explosive memoir Spare were Pyrrhic victories that alienated the House of Windsor for good and burned the Sussexes’ London Bridge to the ground.

The Sussexes’ life nowadays: Four years later, the Sussexes’ life is now all about pretending: showing up at B-list charity galas that would have been tossed into a palace private secretary’s reject pile, making uninvited disaster tourism appearances, or going on mock royal tours that only serve to remind us they could have done the real ones with more sizzle than anyone else in the depleted House of Windsor.

[From Fresh Hell]

What I’m left with is the sense that Tina Brown is incandescent with rage that Harry and Meghan simply refused to stick around the UK to be punching bags for years in the hope that they would eventually be treated fairly. The way Brown and the British media have completely rewritten the actual history of everything that went down in 2019 and 2020 is astonishing too – it was a life-or-death situation, and the Sussexes managed to escape by the skin of their teeth. The danger they faced was in no small part to the violent and racist jealousy from William and Kate (which Tina seems to be insinuating rather than stating bluntly). Anyway, I don’t think Meghan has a problem with impatience, if anything, I wish she would launch her projects faster. In recent days, I have to keep reminding myself that these awful people are doing all of THIS over a cute little entertaining and cooking show, a show which does not mention the Windsors or “royalty” or anything like that. Meghan is just showcasing her long-time interests and her haters are drowning in their own bile.

Tina is bitter. Meghan and harry love each other and are happy. I know she wants to please the royals but she inflamed hatred of Meghan. No Tina you and royals never welcomed her.

    • Hypocrisy says:

She is truly a horrible human being. Why doesn’t she just stand up and scream what she is truly angry about.. the biracial Duchess is just better at everything than the lazy ones that are left. That is what she is Karening about Waity is never going to compare and that drives TB mad with irrational hatred and jealousy. I love that we are getting a revamped vision of the Tig with Meghan, if that horrible family hadn’t asked her to give up her life and career we may have had this much sooner.. this last week I have found that best motivator to clean is watching Meghan in her beautiful world, for that I’m grateful because a mental health break is a must and With Love, Meghan has no hate in the episodes.. absolutely refreshing in today’s world of hateful people and politics.

    • Asantewaa says:

I disliked Tina Brown when she said to her audience at a book launch in London about three years ago, that Meghan should go and marry Elon Musk, because she heard he was looking for a wife! That is when she lost all credibility with me. The viciousness and the disrespect towards a fellow woman and to her husband! Go away Tina Brown, nobody is taking your stupid advice! For God sake leave Meghan in peace! Poor Doria, how dies she cope?

    • StarWonderful says:

Has-been Tina Brown is bitter…bitter bitter bitter!

  2. Blogger says:

    Hi Tina 👋

Really missing out on the zeitgeist eh? Numbers don’t lie.

Thanks for trying to blame QE2’s death on Meghan again. No, Meghan isn’t a greedy bitch, that’s why she went for Frogmore Cottage instead of something like Bagshot Park.

Lots of projection again. Must be miserable living life as a bitter hag when the people you write hate on don’t even know who you are. Your days of influence are over. You can join Tom Bower in the corner.

  3. BlueSky says:

Pam Anderson needs to send them flowers for the free promo because, no shade, I didn’t know she had a show.

Again the racist dog whistles of basically telling her to keep her mouth shut and be grateful she was allowed in that space.

Like you said, all this over a cozy cooking show. Maybe that’s it. They are mad because she is not mentioning the royals and despite everything they have tried they haven’t broken her. I have two episodes left. I’m pacing myself because it’s such a nice comfort show.

    • Blogger says:

Yeah, keep quiet until QE2 died and you’d have gotten a grand estate and worn stolen jewels 🤣

That really worked for Lazy good thinning in her gilded cage.

As is, Meghan has her grand estate with absolutely no leaks and guaranteed privacy from the tabloids and people like Tina. Living life peacefully underneath an tree. And Meghan buys the jewels that she likes and doesn’t have to beg from Chuck.

Like a good philanthropist that she is, she prefers to uplift female-owned businesses by buying their jewellery, and as a result, promoting them.

Why would she swap her life in Cali for misery in Windsor?

  4. somebody says:

Meghan was “bringing out the worst misogyny in the tabloid press”. With the phrasing sounding like it was Meghan’s fault. She also should consider that no decent person wants to live in “Trump’s America”. If he keeps hitting their pocketbooks even his fans will wish to live somewhere else. She needs to give over trying to make it sound like H&M would have been promoted to more/larger living quarters when QE died. Instead they would have just been doing all the work W&K were too shiftless to do.

  5. Me at home says:

Tina paying her bills by jumping on the hate money train. Agree she’s rewriting history, but the money must be good, no? What a hideous person.

  6. Jan says:

Poor Tina is old and bitter, no more marriages to break up.
Why does it always comes down to the Sussexes should’ve stayed in England, maybe their are happier attending B-list charity events, where the people are genuine and their tours are better than any one the the present day royal family.

    • Blogger says:

That was a Tina projection. She thinks she’s still on the B list but she’s way down in the D list.

  7. Tessa says:

Tina is upset that her last book did not sell nearly as well as spare. Her book about Diana was biased since tina wants to be in with the royals. Isn’t Kate the anachronism getting the degree in Mrs and pursuing a prince for 10 years and having no career.

  8. Beth says:

Not sure how anyone could possibly perceive the past 5 years for the Sussexes as a ‘flaming flop’. When it’s more like rising phoenix-like from the ashes. Financial independence, a great marriage with 2 adorable kids, lovely family and friends nearby, gorgeous home, meaningful work, the Archewell Foundation, able to do their own thing. So they’re happy with their lives, but Tina Brown isn’t 🤣🤣🤣

    • Jais says:

Yeah, their “flaming flop” in Montecito is looking pretty gorgeous and fulfilling from where I’m sitting. It’s giving psychosis to say otherwise. That they should’ve waited it out…till William is in charge. That would’ve been even worse.

      • Blogger says:

She (and the RR) know the monarchy will implode under Willie, and Harry would have been useful as his stooge.

Their Royal Lazinesses don’t want to work for the billions of public funding they get.

      • Jais says:

It could be that a lot of it goes back to the fact that Harry left with her. Despite TB characterizing Harry as not that smart, he obviously is very smart and charismatic and they miss him .oh well.

      • Cali says:

I know someone who holds a significant Management role in an organization where Harry and Megan participated in a major event.
I asked him if Megan was this beautiful in real life as she photographs. His response was yes she’s very good looking and Harry is just the coolest guy ever. Like just the absolute best dude of all time.
Harry’s Charisma is off the charts and he has extremely high levels of emotional intelligence. The royal family really really needed Harry and so did the British public. Their loss….

    • Bum says:

Yeah whenever they say this I wonder what exactly were they supposed to be doing? Like staying financially independent, safe and secure, birthing a new princess and raising their kids, establishing their foundation, extending Invictus, conducting highly successful tours and writing a best selling memoir wasn’t pretty productive and successful? Not to mention all their other initiatives and awards that they have both given and received, Meghan’s podcast and their Netflix documentaries. Good grief. Name five things WanK with every support and advantage have done in the same time frame.

  9. HeatherC says:

One, Pamela Anderson is Canadian and her show is shown on Canadian TV. She’s luckily not in Trump’s America.

Two, how can I, an American, grasp the danger of being in that family when you’re not the heir? Sure, here’s a royal estate, but we’re not going to give you money to upkeep it or anything else! Harry was told before he even got married there was no money for Meghan. They paid for all their renovations!

Anything to try and stay famous, right?

  10. Bronco says:

I genuinely don’t understand what that pool of vomit meant. So many bizarre comments and contradictions. She’s such a weirdo. I hope for her sake it’s not a form of mental illness or dementia. But most of these people seem to have an illness of some sort.. So sad

  11. Dee(2) says:

For all their vitriol and hatred, all of these ” experts” seem to fall back on Harry and Meghan should have just stayed. And I’m not going to denigrate any charities in the UK to boost Harry and Meghan, but I really need to understand why William and Kate going to Wales to make bakery products is somehow more A-list, than Harry and Meghan serving food for wildfire victims in Altadena?

She knows like they all know that the Sussexes are doing just fine in the U.S. Just as she knows and says the depleted Windsor’s need them more than the reverse. These type of events like Commonwealth day used to get articles written about them in the US press for days 2018-2020. Tina is just sad for her pockets. No one cares about the rest of those people, that’s why she’s on a podcast and not Good Morning America. And she will never be asked to cover the Sussexes in the US, which is why she hates Meghan.

    • Eurydice says:

It’s really beyond that. I don’t know what the psychological pathology is here, but it’s something diagnosable. Obsession, narcissism, some kind of hysterical delusion and a rage that the world isn’t the way Tina insists it should be. I really don’t know, but a few bucks made from a podcast doesn’t explain this.

      • Dee(2) says:

I mean it’s the racism. They all to some degree have it, but the money is more of a motivating factor for some who will occasionally say nice things about Meghan and defend her because they realize being contrarian on the UK press actually gets them booked more. I’m thinking about people like Jennie Bond. But Tina, Tom Bower, Kinsley Schofield?? I’m sure there are other complex psychological factors which explains the refusal to consider information that conflicts with their viewpoint, but it’s all built on a foundation of racism.

      • Eurydice says:

@Dee(2) – There’s most definitely racism, but I think there’s even more. Like Meghan poses an existential threat to a pro-monarchy worldview. It’s not just that she’s biracial; it’s that she left. It’s like when someone escapes a narcissistic abuser – the only way the abuser can maintain their world view is if they destroy the victim.

      • Jais says:

Yeah I agree, there’s money sure but as you said @eurydice, money doesn’t explain this, the hysterical delusion and rage. Definitely racism too. And yes that she left. That she left and she pays them dust. She is showing them that she is not going to let them abuse her and hurt her and they really really want to hurt her. If Harry and Meghan had stayed it would be endless hurt coming from William and Kate against them and their children. Tina keeps lamenting that they should have stayed or they can still go back bc I think she wanted to watch that abuse. To see Harry and Meghan constantly sleighted by the Wales out of jealousy. And to have sources coming from the Wales to chronicle all of it.

      • Mairzy Doats says:

I think it’s because her identity, like others, is tied into being “monarchy adjacent” so that any rejection of that is felt as a personal diminishment of her own status and value system. Not dissimilar to intolerance of other religions.

    • Angelica+Schuyler says:

Tina is also angry that Meghan didn’t ‘stay in her place’. Meghan was supposed to be content groveling to the royals for acceptance and basic life necessities such as a roof over her head and clothes on her back. The fact that she and Harry have valued their own happiness over being part of the royal sh-t show just infuriates Tina and the bigoted royalists that follow her.

Meghan has not played the role they wanted to cast her in as Angry Black Woman and uncouth American shrew. At some point the Tina Browns and Bethenny Frankels of the world are going to wake up and realize that Meghan Sussex has moved on and is living the soft life in her Era of Joy. Her true fans are here for it, watching the show into ratings success, replicating the ideas she has inspired, and will be buying her products in droves once they are released. (Just ask Le Crueset.)

      • Jais says:

Good point, that they wanted her to stay in her place. And the fact that she’s living a soft life and saying that she is in an era of joy is driving them mad. It’s like they have to redefine her own words and life. TB is really out there saying oh you think it’s an era of joy? Nope it’s a flaming flop era bc I say it is!!! TB is trying to drive a narrative that we can all witness is untrue. Meghan is hanging with her dogs and bees and kids and husband in beautiful Montecito. It ain’t flopping. There’s a big ol’ red floppy bow out there somewhere but it ain’t on Meghan just saying.

  12. Shoegirl77 says:

Wow, the bitterness exudes from every single word she writes. Must be horrendous to live in these people’s heads. That level of bitterness, hatred and envy would surely eat a person up from the inside out. Especially when they see Meghan going through life showing that she’s in her era of joy and utterly unaffected by their poison.

    • Hypocrisy says:

That is it exactly, if they spew that much hatred out of their mouths or fingers(written) imagine what is actually being held back in their heads.. this isn’t normal behavior for any sane human being. Evil walks among us people like her are proof imo. I will never understand why people choose to embrace hate so deeply and spend what time they have on earth hurting others. What a sad existence.

  13. Maxine Branch says:

Brown is bitter partly because Meghan has completely ignored her. Pretty sure she approached Meghan’s people at some point when she wrote that nonsense a little while ago that flopped and was ignored. Her poison pen does not carry the weight it once did because her time to shine has passed. She is more suited for the greatest generation, not the generation of today. Millennials and generation z do not even know who this woman is. And they are driving the markets not 70+ years old haters. Her audience is the dying generation of forever monarchist. Unfortunately for her and her ilk, Meghan does not have to prove herself to anyone. She loves cooking, hosting and building community as well as championing for women issues. Meghan is a multifaceted women in tune to herself, society and the needs of her family.nat this stage is Brown’s life, she is desperately trying to hold on to relevance at a time when people are trying to find comfort and joy I. The little things. Ostentatiousness displayed by the U.K. monarchy comes across as gauche.

    • Amy Bee says:

I think you’re right that Meghan probably rejected Tina’s approach for her book. It’s the only explanation for her extreme anger towards Meghan. Getting an exclusive from Meghan would have made her book a huge bestseller. I’m sure she even tried to get to Meghan through Oprah.

    • Islandgirl says:

I totally agree that Meghan refused to work with Tina on her book.
But this is more…there is such bitterness here…why?
They know now that they have lost this fight.
They have failed to bring Meghan down and Harry back to the UK alone.

The last hooray…the smear before the show has failed and they know it.
Some reporters are now trying to pull back but some like Tina are going down with the ship. … and it is going down.
Too many ordinary people who never followed the royals are wondering about the vitriol about a lifestyle show.
Poor Tina what’s a girl supposed to do now?

  14. Libra says:

If Harry and Meghan had stayed in the U.K. they’d be begging for money for basic support. Charles, and soon William, will use a monthly handout as a way to keep them under control. Beg and grovel is not Meghans ‘ style, sorry U.K.

    • Elizabeth K. Mahon says:

Right? Tina Brown makes many assumptions about KCIII and the future King William V and how they would have handled the Sussexes. Was Meghan supposed to sit tight in Frogmore Cottage, have babies, and do nothing like Kate? That is not Meghan’s personality. Years before she met Harry, she said that she didn’t want to be a ‘lady who lunches’; she wanted to have an impact.

  15. GMH says:

Wow! I had no idea Tina had fallen into irrelevance. She is so out of touch that she really thinks her obvious misreads on the Sussexes and the left behind royals are spot on. Her problem is all her old sources from her days at Tattler and VF are either dead or senile and she is desperate to make new ones. The closest she came was the Middletons a few years ago. Very sad for her to be so far from the pikse of the action these days. She should just go quietly off stage.

  16. Chantale says:

Of course she is! We are paying attention to her by mentioning her.

    • Jais says:

Fair point. But I keep it confined to here. I’m not clicking on anything she writes or any appearances she makes. I’m not posting on SM about her anywhere. It would almost be funny if it wasn’t so racist and ick.

  17. ThatGirlThere says:

Tina’s just jealous of Meghan – her brains, beauty, and youth. Meghan’s killed it in everything she’s done, and Tina knows it. She thinks if she trash-talks Meghan enough, it’ll somehow make it true. And, she’s found an audience for her negativity.

Honestly, if Meghan hadn’t married Harry, she’d have had her own lifestyle show years ago.

  18. Kathgal says:

The one good thing about all of this is the general population are “Tina…who?”

  19. Miracles says:

All the American publications with hit pieces about Meghan; have ties to Tina Brown!!! Total smear campaign

  20. Over it says:

Tina, go f yourself you dried up dried out racist B. Meghan doesn’t need you or your lack of good advice. If you had any real talents you won’t be pimping out yourself to pay those bills . Talk about an f lister .

  21. Snuffles says:

Wow, that was like watching a car wreck of a car full of clowns. Her brain was doing so many mental gymnastics that even Cirque du Soleil would be like, “Girl, sit down. You’re gonna hurt yourself!”

We are watching a psychotic break in real time. Meghan has really broke these people’s brains y’all.

    • Blogger says:

She can join the list of casualties of Meghan haters: Piers, Jeremy, Cameltoe, Dickie and daughter…

      • Maxine Branch says:

@Blogger says. Love your response, join the list of casualties Meghan has😂😂😂😂😂😂

  22. bisynaptic says:

WTF is a “B-list” charity, Tina?

  23. Amy Bee says:

If Meghan is so terrible, why is Tina Brown clamouring for her to return to the royal life? Tina Brown is deluding herself if she thinks Harry and Meghan were going to get anymore than what they got when the Queen was alive. In fact the things the Queen gave them made Charles, Camilla, William and Kate jealous and they worked with the press to bring Harry and Meghan down.

    • Jais says:

Bingo. Why is she saying Meghan should come back if she didn’t think Meghan has something to be mined for exploitation. She just wants the monarchy to be the one doing it. So messed up. And the idea that it would’ve all worked out once Charles passed is ludicrous and delulu. Willam and Kate would’ve made their lives and their children’s lives hell. And they knew that and got out.

  24. GMH says:

BTW, the irony is that Tina lives in NYC, not London. So it was okay for her to leave the UK but not for Meghan, an American.. Strange times indeed.

    • aquarius64 says:

This witch is mad that she lost her prominence in royal reporting. Brown has her audience of Meghan haters but she hopes the wider population believes her false accounts. Unfortunately for her the internet has receipts and people make up their own minds. Brown doesn’t have the guts to repeat her mess on US TV because she risks being challenged by a presenter on live air.

      • Blogger says:

“Now Tina, why do you really, really hate Meghan?”

        Pause.

        “Where do I begin?”

And if she diatribes like Angela Levin, that would be TV gold.

  25. Lizzie says:

Oh good, poor old Tina Brown is back. I was hoping to ask her how ‘relatable’ and ‘authentic’ Waity was at the CW service yesterday? Also, is Tina still ‘feeling sorry for Meghan who always gets it wrong’ and her renewed for season 2 top 10 Netflix series? Hmmm?

    • Lizzie says:

Also, remind me what kind of views Earthshot and Waity Christmas pageant got on UK tv? Were they in the top 10 in their time slots? LOL, more likely the bottom 10.

  26. Ann Latta says:

Tina Brown lives on hate and disparagement. It pays the bills. Few of us live like the Sussexes, but many of us enjoy and often find pleasure in seeing the good they do and the grace they bring to friendships, raising a family, and entertaining. She is an object of my pity.

  27. Harla says:

I have to ask, would Tina have stuck it out if she had to endure the same treatment as Meghan? Would Tina expect her daughter, niece, friend to put up with 1/10th of the racism, classism and sexism that she expects Meghan to tolerate? In the year of our Lord Beyonce, we should be completely pushing back against such expectations!

  28. Lizzie says:

Sounds crazy but it’s almost like that lunch Tina had with Diana 30 years ago doesn’t give her any insight into Harry or Meghan. IKR?

    • Tessa says:

Diana passed on so she could not refute Tina running around saying she was Diana’s “friend.” What a farce.

  29. Lady Digby says:

Meg and Harry are free to live their lives as they see fit. Why should they dance to the tune of the Firm or whack jobs like Tina? Anyone not deranged can see they are better off in the US in the sunshine being happy together. They and their children do not have to live in the royal strait jacket. Why are they not shown the grace that their cousins are ? Eugene, Bea, Zara and Philip are invited to royal events but entitled to have their own careers, so why not Harry and Meghan? After all papa laughable told Harry he couldn’t afford to pay for Meghan. Why wasn’t he more frank and just gave Harry an ultimatum: marry Meghan and live with her in the US on your own income or remain a working royal and we choose a dull, white nonentity like Sophie for you to marry?

  30. paintybox says:

This woman is projecting like mad, she’s basically projecting her own feelings about her own irrelevance and failures onto Meghan. So much second-hand embarassment reading her words, like watching someone walking around with a long trail of USED toilet paper stuck to their shoe.

  31. Is That So? says:

“All Meghan had to do was shut up and wait.”

The refrain from w-power system to Black, Brown, and non-whites complaints since they came across each other.

This article smacks of WW opprobrium, colonial presumption, and slave mistress ire.

Tina’s belief system that sees no value in integrity and self determination. Instead she values hierarchy and the way others see you over how you see yourself.

Tina is the voice of a much diminished colonial power braying because the Black and Brown ones won’t do as they are told, won’t come when they are called, and will show their lashes to the public and ruin a carefully manicured public persona.

She represents people who believe drafty palaces, hundred year-old threadbare sheets held together by generational darning, and servitude to the correct hierarchy is infinitely better than freedom, self-determination, and joy

Tina is the remnants of a time when white-wealth made frumpy frocks admirable and ill-filling trousers a sign of class.

She gives off benign (in her mind) slave mistress vibes.

Thank goodness no one has to lived to her standards.

    • Angelica+Schuyler says:

You have laid this all out so eloquently. This is completely true. Tina is downright angry at Meghan’s desire for self determination and refusal to accept abuse to remain in the hierarchy of the BRF. How dare she reject the constructs the colonialists hold so dear! All Meghan had to do was shut up and wait!

      Tina can keep waiting.

    • StarWonderful says:

      This! Well said!

    • Lover says:

      Excellent analysis!

  32. QuiteContrary says:

“All Meghan had to do was shut up and wait.”

That is just pure, unadulterated racism. WTF is wrong with that demented crone, telling a Black woman to shut up and wait?

Just call Meghan “uppity,” Tina — we all know you’re dying to.

And what kind of sicko ranks charities — charities!! — according to the scale used for celebrities??

    • Lover says:

Exactly right about the racism. “Defer your dreams!” Pffft.

The kind of sicko who ranks charities like celebrities is the same sicko who thinks dressing up in designer duds to have your photo taken at a charity event equals “service” and merits palaces and privileges in return.

  33. ❤️❤️❤️❤️SCAR says:

These bitter saltines have a whole KING, who has announced some playlist he likes that they could be commenting on. Yet a rogue princess, who has returned to her home country gets all the attention. This doesn’t speak well of the King, nor his boring heir; nor the lying princess left behind.

  34. Jaded says:

Jealousy thy name is Tina Brown. She’s now totally irrelevant but still seems to think she’s the media “it” girl she was decades ago. I’m reminded of the great Nina Simone song “feelin’ Good”…

    It’s a new dawn, it’s a new day
It’s a new life for me
    And I’m feeling good

Listen to it Tina and you’ll understand.

More and more I understand why Anna Wintour has been the only one of the 90s publishing industry queens to maintain her spot.

  35. AC says:

She lives in the UK and WLM is more of a California lifestyle which she knows Nothing about. Yeah Trumps America is maddening but it’s not the Hell that HM were experiencing living in the UK. And CA is still pretty progressive even with Trumps America. The thing is these people write for Brits and some Brits believe the BS that these people write. There was a post on SM who didn’t like M based on what she read over there but after she watched WLM, she admitted that M isn’t really what she thought would be.
I have a hunch these people are scared they’re going to start losing their only base that actually believes their BS.

  36. North of Boston says:

“…Meghan is the one “in charge” and Prince Harry follows Meghan’s lead in all things.”

I noticed this is the headline in The Star and other Murdoch trash tabloids when I was in line at the grocery store yesterday. It’s just one more garbage talking point they all got orders to use… do these people realize they all sound exactly like deranged fans posting from their closets about fake babies, narc/dragon ladies who have enslaved their men with their bossy personalities/ drugs/blackmail/ mind manipulations? Like this is the same playbook run on the SOs/GFs/wives of Hiddleston/ Pattinson/ Cumberbatch/ one D’s/Supernatural cast, etc etc etc. Only now with more misogynoir.

Shame on Brown and company, along with the readers, members of the public who lap this stuff up and pile on.

Such a waste of air and space, TB and the rest of the mean, deranged, destructive “royal pundits” and their minions are.

  37. Betsy says:

I love that, amid all the racist kvetching, Brown still essentially admits that Harry and Meghan would have been the best at the royal work and that instead they’re left with Sad Beard and Jazz Hands. They enjoyed punching Harry and then Meghan, but they understood they were It, and now they’re sad. Lol.

  38. Angied says:

The sad thing is that this lady doesn’t see how racist she is. All the organizations that Meghan and Harry support through their Archewell Foundation are not deemed worthy in her eyes. Nothing over here matters only charities in the U.K. What a colonialist view of the world. To tell a mixed race American to shut up and accept the abuse is beyond reasoning. Meghan tried to offer her help and they told her no. We don’t like how you do it and you are showing up the others so please be quiet down and just disappear for awhile. They told her to go and she did. What the hell else do they want from her and Harry.

  39. L4Frimaire says:

This woman sounds completely bonkers, like she’s just cooking with rage daily because Meghan isn’t giving her a reality show where she’s screaming at staffers. Does she know how insane she sounds? Does she think ranting and insulting her more will get her a meeting? She’s so mad the Sussexes aren’t putting up with constant leaks and humiliation in service to the Crown, most of which consists of showing up somewhere to be photographed. When they actually did impact driven work, they were excoriated for it, accused of supporting terrorism, being too woke and uppity, and preaching to the public. Brown thinks we all have short memories.

  40. Nerd says:

The language she used is so racist and misogynistic. Everything she said was reminiscent of something a closeted racist would say thinking that their racism isn’t obvious to normal decent people. She sees Meghan, and her children, as people of color who shouldn’t be allowed to have agency over their own bodies or voices. She thinks she should have remained in a racist space where she and her family were being abused, threatened and not protected because the alternative, which is what they have now, isn’t theirs to have. She thinks that she should have remained silent and allowed racists to control hers and her family’s lives. It’s reminiscent of the “shut up and dribble” directed at LeBron when he fulfilled his rights as an American to have an opinion and voice it. To her people of color should never be heard from or protected. They definitely shouldn’t have the exceptional life that Harry and Meghan have created for their family all because they left hell five years ago.

  41. AR says:

It is outrageous that people like Tina can simply lie as much as they want, slander, incite and people see nothing wrong with it. Right now, Meghan is the most persecuted person in the world. And the law allows this??!! How many young people commit suicide because of online harassment by their peers? HM publicizes this problem, tries to fight it, supports parents who have lost children in this way… and yet the attempt to destroy HM, and recently especially focused on Meghan, is still ongoing. More than one person, after something like this, could already take their own life. Is this what they want? Is this what they are striving for? Do they imagine that then the broken Harry will return to the bosom of his “family”? Never in their life! They are unlucky because they found a strong woman who knows her worth and can fight for herself and her loved ones, and on top of that she has a supportive and loving husband who stands by her like a knight, defending his beloved family.
If anything happened to Meghan, from the royal family not a stone will be left on a stone.

Nothing will stop Harry then and I am sure that if something happened to him too, he would secure the materials and someone would do it on his behalf.

If anything happened to Meghan, from the royal family not a stone will be left on a stone.

If they want to survive, they better not provoke the wolf.

  42. Lover says:

For two cultures that share so much in common, it baffles me how British folk truly do not understand Americans at any level.

Tina is clueless that American culture is sharply divided. No, Tina, Meghan in fact should NOT emulate Trumpist incels, nor would it make her more relevant to do so. Elon is powerful, but he’s culturally cringe. M’s show offers a welcome alternative to disgusting Trumpworld, one that is very timely for at least half of America, and especially to women. An actually insightful cultural commentator, Cory Doctorow, is out there saying that living with Trumpism is about living in constant anxiety. Other prominent anti-autocrats are telling us that resisting Trumpism includes maintaining the small rituals of personal kindness, friendship and self-care that keep us grounded and internally strong. THAT is our current zeitgeist—and WLM is a small oasis of relief from that anxiety. But no, what’s relevant to Tina is a (scripted) reality show like Real Housewives or the Kardashians. Rich folks screaming at each other, acting like jerks, talking s**t, real cutting-edge stuff from 20+ years ago.

Thank goodness H&M are not in the UK publicly cozying up to Trump like Charles and William are, in the name of “neutrality” while legitimizing and normalizing him. How is palling around with a literal nazi relevant? Yet Tina advises M to abandon all of her principles and sacrifice herself to tabloid lies in order to … obtain an antique house on the public dime? How is that “authentic,” Tina? Meanwhile M’s Montecito home is more beautiful and better situated than any royal property—and it’s all hers and H’s. No one to tell her what to do, and she’s close to her hometown, mother and lifelong friends. British folks are the only ones who want to live like the Windsors.

Finally, her hilariously bad assessment of H&M’s huge successes of the last five years is just pure dripping jealousy and lies, especially compared to the pathetic ribbon-cutting busywork, long hiatuses, gross shenanigans, and petty backstabbing that the UK royals engage in on a regular basis. No one can take Tina Brown seriously; she’s delusional.

  43. sdb says:

The bile on display there is quite unnerving. Her, Clarkson, Moir, Plattell, Morgan…I may be poor, and over the hill, and alone, but I still give thanks that I am not like any of these people.

  44. J McGraw says:

“despite bringing out the worst misogyny in the British press”

    I CANNOT.

Tina is a writer. She chose these words deliberately and is subtextually blaming Meghan for “bringing out the worst” in the tabloids (conveniently skipping the flagrant racism)

    What an a-hole
