Two Fridays ago, Kim Kardashian went to family court for an emergency hearing about Kanye West. Kanye still has joint custody of their four kids, but he seems to only really care about North, their oldest, and North is absolutely the only kid who regularly sees her father. Well, the family court hearing apparently covered a lot of ground: Kanye’s recent manic episode which has seen him go back to Nazism; Kanye’s new song, which features North West and Sean Combs; Kanye’s associations with alleged human traffickers Andrew Tate and Tristan Tate, whom Kanye invited over while North was there; and Kanye’s recent social media meltdowns, which included some vile comments about the Kardashians, Beyonce and Jay-Z.

Sources close to Kim told Page Six that she’s terrified of Kanye and she’s especially worried about North, who is ride-or-die for her father. Sources also said that Kanye is “obviously not taking his meds, if he was we wouldn’t be here. It’s not getting any better, he’s not a well person, he’s sinking further down and he’s not acting rationally. There’s so much negativity – I don’t think he can come out of this.” Kanye has also been mostly LA-based this year, and sources say that he’s been abusing nitrous oxide this year. Huh. Kim Kardashian is feeling frustrated as she deals with the fallout of Kanye West’s social media rantings. A source tells PEOPLE that the SKIMS co-founder, 44, has been feeling stressed and overwhelmed as she’s dealt with her ex-husband’s recent public outbursts — especially when it affects their kids.

The insider says that Kardashian, who shares daughters Chicago, 7, and North, 11, and sons Psalm, 5, and Saint, 9, with West, “can’t stand when he acts irrational” and just wants him to be able to spend time with their kids in a safe way.

“When Kanye’s not around, it’s very sad for the kids. North especially asks to see him,” the source says. “But when he is around, many times it causes frustration and stress for Kim.”

“She can’t stand when he acts irrational. She wants the kids to spend time with him in a safe environment. She finds it ridiculous that she needs her lawyer on speed dial.”

Earlier this week, reports surfaced that Kardashian called for an emergency custody hearing after learning that Andrew Tate and Tristan Tate would be present during West’s visit with daughter North West.

She abruptly ended North’s visit with West last week after security guards told her the Tate brothers, who returned to the U.S. last month after facing sex crimes charges overseas, would soon be arriving at North and West’s meeting place, according to TMZ.

“She can’t stand when he acts irrational” – here’s the thing. You can argue that when Kim and Kanye started up, she absolutely didn’t know how bad it would get and I believe that. But Kim had a much better idea from 2017 until the end of their marriage. She saw him through some really bad times in those years, and we don’t know the half of it, I’m sure. It’s not “Kanye isn’t behaving rationally,” it’s “Kanye is profoundly mentally ill and he’s harming a lot of people too.” I absolutely believe that Kim is concerned about North’s relationship with Kanye too – North adores her father, North is a real daddy’s girl. “She finds it ridiculous that she needs her lawyer on speed dial.” It sucks but yeah, and it’s not going to end any time soon. So keep the lawyer on speed dial.
