Sentebale’s former trustees ‘fully expected’ Sophie Chandauka’s ‘publicity stunt’

Sentebale chairwoman Sophie Chandauka gave several interviews in recent days, following the abrupt resignations of Sentebale’s entire board of trustees and Sentebale’s two royal patrons and co-founders, Prince Seeiso and Prince Harry. Chandauka’s Financial Times interview was one of the ugliest pieces I’ve read in the years-long history of this unhinged campaign to harm the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. But honestly, the FT piece pales in comparison to Chandauka’s on-camera interview with Sky News over the weekend. In that interview, she expanded her completely bonkers royalist talking points that Harry’s falling out from the Windsors somehow “hurt” Sentebale, but Sentebale in its current form had outlived its usefulness because she wanted Sentebale to tackle environmental concerns and wealth inequality. Many of us have wondered what the hell Harry and Seeiso plan to do about this woman’s hostile takeover attempt. According to People Magazine’s sources, Harry and Seeiso’s plan is to watch Chandauka punch herself out, I guess.

In an interview with the Financial Times on Saturday, March 29, Sentebale chair Dr. Sophie Chandauka, who took on the role in July 2023, claimed that Harry and his co-founder Prince Seeiso — who resigned as patrons of the organization earlier this week — wanted “to force a failure and then come to the rescue.”

However, a source close to the patrons and trustees tells PEOPLE that their decision to exit the charity was based on Chandauka’s handling of the charity’s finances. (In response, a representative for Chandauka previously told PEOPLE: “First and foremost, like much of the content circulated yesterday, a lot of information being shared is untrue and defamatory in nature.”)

The source adds: “The trustees tried to negotiate this privately and requested she consider her position due to their lack of trust and confidence in her as a leader, as demonstrated by the financial position she put the charity in.”

“They fully expected this publicity stunt and reached their collective decision with this in mind,” the source adds. “They remain firm in their resignation for the good of the charity and look forward to the adjudication of the truth.”

[From People]

I understand that they’re taking the longer view and sure, maybe it’s a good idea to just sit back and watch her make a horse’s ass out of herself so that everyone can see what they’ve been dealing with. But I also wish they would be a tad more proactive? I think a few on-the-record statements from both Seeiso and Harry would be more than welcome right now. Because holy sh-t, this woman is throwing around some really wild accusations. Her story makes no sense at any point – the stuff about Harry announcing that he was bringing Netflix cameras to a polo match is bizarre, she’s mad about Serena Williams coming to see Meghan AND she’s mad that Meghan came to support her husband’s charity polo match?? She also had this message to Harry: “The team is resolved that Sentebale will live on, with or without you.” The white man beside her is Iain Rawlinson, a longtime ally of Prince William. Rawlinson has been “advising” Chandauka and she appointed him as a new trustee.

  1. Amy Bee says:

I’d be surprised if Harry and Seeiso say anything on the record before the Charity Commission’s findings. Has anybody asked Madam Chair why she refuses to step down? I don’t think I’ve heard a proper explanation. She’s just thrown red meat to distract from the fact the trustees had lost confidence in her and asked her to step down.

    • Blogger says:

Do we know for a fact if there’s an ongoing inquiry or is this all speculation? I haven’t seen any statement yet from the Charities Commission over any investigation into Sentebale.

If there’s not a formal investigation one now, there should be soon. Having a whole board quit because of a volunteer Chair is bonkers. This is messy and it’s a high profile charity. I remember when the whole of the HSBC board quit and there was a mad scramble for succession. This looks like a madwoman in charge with Palace support.

      • Amy Bee says:

It was reported that the Charity Commission was investigating the matter. I’m not sure the Palace is involved in this. What would be the reason for them to be involved?

    • AR says:

      Is the palace involved?
      What would be the reason?
      What are you talking about?
This is all the palace’s doing and Chanukah is their Trojan horse.
And the reason is that William will not rest until he destroys his brother. He will definitely try until the end of his days! He has wanted everything Harry has all his life – even Diana said so – and if he can’t have it, he will do everything to make sure Harry doesn’t have it either. He can no longer promote himself on Harry’s work, and Harry is thriving, so William tries to destroy Harry and everything about him.

      • Sussexreign_new says:

Thank you. Exactly. This is happening because of the royals. I hate when people want to play like they don’t see this.

      • Christine says:

Bingo, and it’s not even kind of subtle.

      • Lilly (with the double-L) says:

I believe what set their rage/hate off, yet again, is that Prince Harry got an apology for his mother. Princess Diana is yet beloved and I still get choked up remembering the apology. No one holds Chuck or W or the rest so dear. No one is inspired to ever take huge risks for them, based on love, respect or protecting their honor. People claim admiration, but it looks more like they represent their wyt supremacy, which garners no depth of feeling, it’s just a convenient way to spew their agenda. Ephemeral and no true loyalty.

      • Where'sMyTiara says:

Huevo made a BIG mistake then, in going after Sentebale. The Ancestors, their late mothers are not going to be happy and they will get Prince Harry and Prince Seesio justice for the charity and those kids.

Huevo needs to be taught a lesson, imo. “Don’t start none, won’t be none.”
Here’s hoping the Charities Commission exhonerates H, Seesio & the Board, snatches Rawlinson & Chandauka’s wigs, and then starts an investigation into Huevo’s charity organization.

Make a Wish for Huevo what he wishes for others…

      • Teddy says:

Bill can’t take Invictus away from Harry so he tries to steal Sentebale.

    • GMH says:

I agree. When someone is punching herself in the nose repeatedly just step back and let her take herself out of the game. Any additional comments from the princes will only lead to a tit for tat in the British tabs. When she goes, and she will, the board will reassemble the princes will raise some additional money to paych the shortfalls she created and they will get back to the business of supporting kids.

      • Lawrenceville says:

And there is absolutely no way a charity of this magnitude has no lawyers or legal advisers. And if I have learnt anything from Prince Harry’s past business, this man covers his ass very well. There is a reason why the 2 princes only gave one statement and that’s it. IMO, there is so much being said without them actually saying anything.
The attempts by Chandauka to involve madame in her shit failed miserably because everyone chose not to give Chandauka any undeserved attention. The princes are choosing to not give this issue any undeserved oxygen, and that’s a smart move. When your enemy is making every effort to hand themselves, please don’t interfere. If anything, the 2 Princes are handing Chandauka more rope and to me that’s wise. She will soon FO.

      • Where'sMyTiara says:

        Yuuuup

Chandauka and her palace Svengalis *want* H to attempt to fight them in the press. Harry learned long ago that the British media are terrorists, and he doesn’t negotiate with terrorists, full stop, end of.

What @Lawrenceville offers is correct. It reminds me that H is a Virgo. They do NOT play. They keep receipts, they’re organized, methodical, and if you get on the wrong side of one they will grind you down to dust.

What’s hilarious about Workshy’s repeatedly steeped-in-failure attempts to scupper his brother is, Workshy is simultaneously high on his own supply (of tabloid nonsense) – he thinks H is “not very bright”. H is absolutely the smarter of the two and these last 10yrs have more than proved it. Workshy hasn’t the mental or emotional stamina to out-think his brother.

I have to believe Hazza and his Lesotho brother Prince Seesio seem to be living according to the old quote:

“Never interfere with an enemy while he’s in the process of destroying himself.”

    • Hypocrisy says:

Usually when there is an open investigation it is always best to keep quiet until the investigation is over. Everything she is spewing will be reviewed also, I don’t see this ending well for her at all.

    • A says:

Sadly, I don’t think their waiting for the charity commission findings at this point, but rather for the inevitable financial collapse to happen under her watch! What I do find notable is that the guy sitting next to her during the interview was willingly agreeing to things and co-sign information that he actually should have no realtime knowledge of. (Side note: It just occurred to me that his title is consultant and bored member….so is he getting paid a consultant fee and by whom?)

      • Lady Digby says:

Exactly Ian Rowlinson was only appointed last Tuesday so when she refers to him as her witness as to what happened at past board meetings? He was not present at board meetings prior to 25 March 2025 when he was appointed.

    • MMRB says:

….. THE OTHER THING I just thought about – coming from a commonwealth nation I assume my counterparts have the same sort of attestations when a Board Member is nominated/appointed. There are forms to fill out – you know conflict of interests, and address to serve etc .. but one of them is the confidentiality attestation, where they agree they do not speak about board matters outside of the board/organization, so i’m wondering if they’ll be able to hold her liable for breaking such an agreement.

  2. Becks1 says:

Having Rawlinson so public in this just gives away the whole game, doesn’t it? Maybe this woman, despite prior involvement, wasn’t a good fit to lead Sentebale at this moment in time and things would have gone south anyway. but she certainly has the british press machine working for her in a way that would only happen if she also had the BRF on her side.

I was skimming posts from over the weekend and I think its obvious now that Sophie was behind the whole “Meghan asked her to move!!!” ‘scandal’ from last spring. That’s why she couldn’t correct the issue on the record (whether or not she was actually asked to.) kind of like Kate and the crying story – she could never correct it because she put it out there.

It just is mindblowing to me that one woman has the power to destroy a charity like this, despite a board of trustees etc.

    • Magdalena says:

I’ve seen people over the weekend questioning whether she actually had the authority to unilaterally appoint new trustees, as a quorum is usually required to do this – the chair of the board cannot just appoint other board members on her own. But yes, it does seem that this hostile takeover and new phase in the public harassment of Prince Harry (she completely ignores the fact that there are TWO founders and royal patrons, one of whom is from Lesotho, so knows way more about the charity’s operations than she does) has been in the works for some time. They aren’t subtle at all. May it come back to bite them all with the vengeance of a thousand burning suns.

The poor children, but I’m confident that both Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso will find a way to support them outside of the charity while this farce continues.

I think they are doing the right thing: letting her talk (and letting the trustees talk) – it shows current and would-be collaborators exactly who and what she is: a vindictive, selfish, opportunistic liar and public bully who mishandled / misappropriated the finances of a charity which supports children with HIV/Aids then launched a vicious, slanderous publicity campaign to cover this up. If either of the princes says anything it will put the focus on THEM, not on her. She really seems to want a public slanging match, and is spiralling, like all the other haters, precisely because they are currently paying her DUST. She will never get any support from the sort of people she wants to court in charitable circles in the future. She may as well hitch her wagon to the MAGAs at this point – if they will have her.

Commenters on Bluesky pointed out yesterday that Sentebale and her proximity to Harry was apparently supposed to be her ticket to the big time, because in her external self-promoting endeavours she repeatedly highlighted her involvement with “Prince Harry’s Sentebale”, etc.

      • Blogger says:

Good observation that the haters tend to spiral when they get little or no reaction from the Sussexes.

    • Nic919 says:

Rawlinson sitting next to her during that Sky News interview was a little too obvious in terms of the tentacles of KP being involved.

      • Jais says:

KP really has no chill. From Flybe with Simon Case to Jason Knauf and the DM case to this guy sitting next to Sophie. No chill and obvious af. It’s embarrassing.

      • PrincessK says:

Very odd. He seemed like a creepy character from a Charles Dickens novel. Why did she need him by her side like a prop?

      • sunnyside up says:

        That sounds like a mistake.

  3. Maxine Branch says:

I had hoped both the Prince’s would have done a joint camera response for their reasons for resigning while allowing this unhinged woman to continue to hang herself. The very last thing those who receive this vital aid needs is a back and forth. But a joint one time statement would have been nice to have for the record.

    • Steph says:

I feel like they did that with their statement. Do you think them saying it on camera would have made a difference?

      • SURE says:

She’s not the victim so I wouldn’t do anything that she could use to claim victimhood.

      • Maxine Branch says:

        Good point.

      • Christine says:

Excellent point. The fact that this woman is bleating about moving Sentabale away from HIV/AIDS is bonkers. It’s the reason the foundation was formed, and we aren’t talking about something like scurvy, it is still a real and present danger to children in Lesotho.

Let her wail herself out, like a toddler.

      • HeatherC says:

While I think sometimes charities have to evolve and sometimes leave behind their original mission (March of Dimes was created in 1938 to combat polio, now it works to improve the health of mothers and babies….because polio, thankfully so far, isn’t a huge thing anymore) that’s not the case for Sentabale. Its original mission is still very very current and necessary.

    • sevenblue says:

It was already reported what she did wrong and both patrons followed the board by resigning. They don’t need to justify it more until the investigation is completed.

  4. Steph says:

I can’t find a single person who is with her after the sky News interview. She just sounds like a hater. And none of her accusations had any meat and some where proven to be completely false.

    • Smart&Messy says:

She sounds like a hater; her accusations make no sense or have been proven false. So what? None of these are factors that bother the average royalist reader, or stop the rota from repeating it for years to come, unfortunately. It’s really sad.

  5. FancyPants says:

I still don’t understand why all the good people had to quit instead of just firing the one incompetent person. The longer they wait for her to wreck herself, the more time she has to wreck everything else, too.

    • sevenblue says:

It seems like they don’t have the power to fire her? I am not an expert, but it was reported that the board asked her resignation, she refused and she reported them accusing them of mismanagement and bullying. If they had the power, they would fire her instead of all of them resigning.

      • Wesley says:

The Board do have the power to fire her, that’s why she sought an injunction to prevent them from doing that. She hoped that there’d be a highly public Court Case where she could make all kinds of noise. The Board instead resigned, saying that they couldn’t waste the Charity’s money on fighting her in Court when it’s needed to fulfil the Charity’s purpose. She says she referred to the Charity Commission, but Princes Harry & Seeiso’s statement said they had spoken to the Charity Commission.

      • sevenblue says:

@Wesley, ok that makes more sense, thank you. That is just sad, but it shows that the board’s priority is the charity and its funds not being used for this mess.

    • sunnyside up says:

And spend all the charity’s money so the children can’t be helped.

  6. Beth says:

She lied about the injunction. She lied about the finances/donors after Harry left the UK, neglecting to mention Covid. She lied about being blindsided last week as she was informed the patrons were going as well on March 10th. She lied about polo venue arrangements and too many people on stage. She lied about Harry discouraging donors. And more will come out. This is not an honest person. And seeing William’s man alongside her (made trustee last week, lol!) Is disturbing to say the least.

    • Nanea says:

      She lied about her degree.

She’s got an honorary doctorate, which is like an Oscar. That means she’s not allowed to use it outside of the institution that bestowed it on her — and especially not IRL.

For the sake of comparing: have we ever seen Hillary Clinton or Justin Trudeau using their honorary doctorates in any way?

I’m sure there are more points in her CV that won’t check out either.

As to the money — the Sussex fan account Sussex Events was approached by “Sentebale” about creating another collection drive. The organizers replied we were all busy donating to IG Vancouver Whistler. Just imagine what would have happened had we all donated to them back then. How sad to have to approach a fan account when we all donate to various causes like Camfed, IG, and yes, Sentebale too voluntarily.

Many Squaddies said they’ve stopped their regular donations to Sentebale for now, until Sophie Chandauka and the new board are gone.

      • Blogger says:

Wow 😮 she had the begging bowl during Invictus? Ick.

      • Wesley says:

That’s an interesting point that Sentebale contacted the Sussex Fan Account asking for money considering what she said about being part of Sussex PR. I wonder if being told that the account was donating to IG informed part of her vituperative rant against Prince Harry.

    • Hypocrisy says:

There will be more coming, because this all sure sounds like this is all a huge cya media blitz so the real question is just how much is she hiding… I agree she probably has the BRF/firm backing this 💩 🎪.

  7. Dee(2) says:

I think they should hold back a little. They made their initial statement, and they had other people who were part of the organization speak on the record. It just seems loud because she gave two back-to-back bonkers interviews during a weekend news cycle, however from what I’ve seen the general British public doesn’t seem to be buying what she’s selling, and more information is coming out each day that makes her look like mismanagement is probably her only contribution to organizations.

She clearly wants Harry to react because she knows that gets her more attention, because it’s pretty telling that she hasn’t seen to lob any accusations at Prince Sessio. A lot of her frustration seems to be in the fact that she thought that she was going to have a closer relationship with Harry and Megan then she got and wasn’t able to parlay that into more influence and money for herself. Harry reacting also gets more column inches for the newspaper like the Sun, who not at all suspiciously is where she started her interview parade, and who this very year has to pay a substantial sum to Harry.

    • Maxine Branch says:

@Dee2. I suspect the same re a deeper relationship with Harry and Meghan to further her goals.

    • Magdalena says:

“A lot of her frustration seems to be in the fact that she thought that she was going to have a closer relationship with Harry and Meghan than she got and wasn’t able to parlay that into more influence and money for herself.”

I agree Dee(2). You’ve summed it up much better than I could have done! The above stuck out to me as well – the bitterness. She’s lashing out and deliberately hitching her wagon to the haters as a result. But she’s lost track of all the lies and contradictions in her series of interviews and as you say, there’s more information coming out about her every day, which paints an increasingly unflattering picture of her and her shenanigans.

      • Jais says:

Yes, the level of bitterness is what’s leaving me wide-eyed. She was privately asked to leave and I’m sure it never would have been publicized as to why. But here we are.

      • Where'sMyTiara says:

Going after H&M via the Palaces’ favourite tabloids is going to result in Chandauka’s becoming persona non grata in the world of charity work. She’s showing her entire ass to the entire planet. “Bold strategy Cotton, let’s see how that works out for her!”

She’s digging her own professional tomb in the public sphere, and it’s right and proper that those that resigned just sit back for now and let her.

        H&M & Seesio’s ancestors, they’ll do the work.

    • Amyb says:

Oh she has gone after Prince Senso- basically he was lazy and didn’t show up for meetings. She is a one woman bomb of hate obviously being supported by a very angry Bulliam

      • Blogger says:

Well that won’t make her popular in Lesotho. I mean, Willie hardly turns up to anything at all.

      • Dee(2) says:

Oh my goodness yikes. Yeah she clearly is just flinging crap at the walls hoping something, anything sticks so people don’t follow the money trail.

    • Blogger says:

Yup. She thought being Sentebale Chair would make her besties with Harry and Meghan and they were like: Noooooooooo

That woman has a total lack of boundaries. She really is spiralling…really, stalker, obsession like: Pay attention to me Harry!!!

      • Where'sMyTiara says:

Chandauka’s behaviour towards H&M is really giving Stalker Kate vibes, innit? She was even jealous of Serena, I mean…how? why? Serena’s lovely.

Chandauka seems like a raging narcissist who wants to be connected to the wealthy and powerful. Narcissistic injury: H&M not wanting to be her besties and *gasp* treating her like an employee of the charity. Narcissistic rage: pooping in every tabloid she can. Am I surprised she’s the tool of The Firm? Nope. They’re all narcissists, so for them, game recognize game. She made herself into a useful tool and they will discard her whether or not she achieves their aims. Meanwhile she’s annihilated her future career prospects.

  8. somebody says:

She doesn’t make good sense. She wants to use funds donated and earmarked for one purpose to do something else. Is that legal? Could donors take some action if the money they donated wasn’t used for the stated purpose?

    • Magdalena says:

Yes, I suppose they could. It’s similar, I think, to how Meghan ensured that the funds from the Hubb Community Kitchen’s Together cookbook were ringfenced so that William could not get his grubby mitts on the money. Instead, the income from the sales could only go to fund the Grenfell ladies and their activities or to recipients designated by her.

    • Jais says:

I’m taking a guess here but charities with a very specific focus can make fundraising clear. As in, people know what they’re donating to. The way she’s talking about broadening the scope to climate change and wealth inequality is vague. They’re all worthy issues but I have no idea what sentebale would even do with those issues. Maybe that’s one reason she struggled with funding. She lacks clarity and evidence and talks in jargon.

      • sunnyside up says:

Wealth inequality is very much a political issue and Harry, as a member of the royal family is not allowed to get involved in politics.

      • Steph says:

@sunnyside up: does that still apply to him? Vaccine inequity a political issue. He publicly directly appealed to various governments about it.

S/N I think his passion for vaccine (and probably all medical) equity is a direct result of his his work watch Sentebale.

      • Kit says:

People are giving her too much credit. She used to work for vampires like Sach-Goldman and later Meta.— hardly the champions of wealth equity here. So yeah, it’s all poor grade BS.

I hope she latches onto Willy ‘s proverbial teats forever.

      • Jais says:

No, for me the bigger issue is that hiv/aids in Lesotho is still an issue to raise money on from what I can tell? Maybe I’m wrong. But it leaves a bad taste in my mouth how she’s just changing the focus. What about the kids that have, still do and will at some point need the funding from the original focus of hiv/aids?

    • Blogger says:

If there was a big enough donor who would…maybe the Squad if they wanted to pool their resources but I’d follow the patrons’ lead and move on. Not worth spending the energy on something which has a clear Willie agenda. They have other causes and charities – nobody wants to donate to charities led by psycho Chairs.

      • somebody says:

Would you have to have money to make a complaint and have the charity investigated?

      • Blogger says:

@Somebody I’m sure they can receive complaints from anyone but having skin in the game is always helpful – justified outrage that money to Sentebale is going to some consultants (Rawlinson?) instead.

  9. Lynwall says:

I am now fairly sure that the BRF and/or specifically William are involved. I am not sure if this was a years’ long plan or recent due to an opportunity presenting itself.
Prince William ‘s commitment to ensuring Harry’s downfall will be his own downfall.
It is clear that this lady is the bringer of chaos and the appointment of someone connected to William so early in the game is very shortsighted. He should have continued to advise her behind the scenes.
This will not end well for her, and William’s paws are all over it given the proximity of his former aid.
The tabloids will get lots of clicks, but what will be the end game.
Maybe the ultimate goal for William is to destroy the charity?
Harry needs to be very careful with the Invictus games.

    • Jaded says:

William clearly has Iain Rawlinson whispering in his ear. Sophie “Call Me Doctor” is dragging him around to boost her credibility but in actuality it belies the fact that she’s hitched her wagon to the FK and KP to increase her status in philanthropic circles as well as money-making opportunities. She’s a malignant narcissist and the more she bloviates about what an awful person Harry is, the more she’s going to get herself into deep trouble. The thing about narcissists is that the more they’re cornered the more they yell and lie and try to throw everyone else under the bus, but sooner or later the lies and back-stabbing will be exposed. Harry and Seeiso keeping schtum about it only increases her burning need for public approbation. This will not end well for her.

      • Fina says:

Fully agree. This is already not ending well for her with the Telegraph pointing out how fishy her CV is and her fake Dr title. But independent of all that, no charity or company in their right mind will appoint her to their board from now on. A board member that rather sues the board than follow an unanimous ask to step down? Not acceptable for any Organisation or company I know.

  10. Bumblebee says:

The news backed up Harry by repeating his earlier interviews and exposing that she lied yesterday when she quoted him. And had 2 other member interviews against her.

    • sevenblue says:

Let’s be honest. The UK media was never shy about lying when it comes to Harry. However, she is a black woman from Africa. I don’t understand why she thought that they are gonna cover her ass. These people would hate her more than they hate Harry. They couldn’t comprehend a biracial woman marrying into that family. They won’t lie for her. Sure, they are gonna put her on the news and let her talk sh*t about Harry. Then, they are gonna talk sh*t about her and blame Harry for choosing her as the leader of his charity. It is one stone two birds for them.

      • Blogger says:

Yup. Sophie, you’re on your own once the Palace drops you. Meghan had a horrific time. Ngozi Fulani had to resign. She ain’t special at all.

      • Where'sMyTiara says:

        Bingo, @sevenblue!

Ridiculous as it sounds, Chandauka may be banking on Palaces’ support to help her out of her dilemma, as long as she keeps throwing the Palaces’ “enemy no. 1”, aka H, under the bus in the press. She obviously has a Very High Opinion of Herself and is greedy to ally herself with people in circles of wealth and power.

She’s a useful tool to them, nothing more, and they will cut her loose when her antics start to really backfire on them (which is already happening). She’s no Michael Fawcett.

  11. Noor says:

Raally Harry’s team should have clarified the facts
The facts are : The choreography went badly on stage because everyone stood on a straight line facing the front except the chairwoman who awkwardly jutted out like a T junction in front of Harry thus partially blocking Harry and the other polo guy who stood on Harry’s right . She did this because she also wanted to place her hand at the bottom of the cup. Thus Meghan had to beckon her to stand on her left so that everyone is standing on a straight line facing the front and this also enable the chair woman to hold onto the cup in a more elegant manner.

  12. Blogger says:

Thanks Kaiser for reading all her shit so we don’t have to.

She reminds me of Samantha Markle – one whose self-importance thought she’d overshadow a wedding. And this woman is the same: I AM CHAIR, I AM SENTEBALE NOW.

No doubt she is being egged on by Rawlinson. But I still don’t understand her obsession with Meghan. Meghan has no involvement in Sentebale except to support her husband at the polo and she takes umbrage over that? Burn Sentebale over a perceived snub? What a nutcase.

Once the dust settles, people will pity her for spectacularly blowing up her reputation. As so, so many have pointed out, when the entire board quits, the problem is not them, it’s you.

Still no clarity over the finances – if she said it’s defamatory, then bring the defamation on, open the books to sunlight.

As for Willie, once he did that Flybe empty plane stunt, any integrity he had left went out the door. So he’s all over this like a crash. Hi Willie, how are the Aston Villa forums? 👋

  13. Mslove says:

Chandauka’s fifteen minutes of fame are winding down. I predict Peg’s man Rawlinson will abandon her soon, and Peg will move on to the football forums until another opportunity arises.

    • Jaded says:

Agree. Rawlinson is facing being tainted by association, he’s going to regret getting involved in her attempted coup.

  14. aquarius64 says:

Based on some comments from the public on British talk shows it’s majority siding with Harry. On Jeremy Vine one caller referred to Iain as William’s henchman. People aren’t as stupid as the BM think they are.

    • sevenblue says:

I also found it so stupid that Will showed his hand so early. But, thinking about it, he probably wanted Harry to know that it was him who is ruining his life work for his mother. Will always talks to one audience when he does sh*t like that. He doesn’t care how it looks to us.

      • Blogger says:

😂 He’s never grown out of being that terrible toddler.

      • sevenblue says:

@Blogger, I can’t imagine being Harry: a man in his 40’s with a wife, two children and still dealing with a vindictive sibling. It isn’t a rare story, but the vindictive sibling usually wouldn’t have enormous resources, a national intelligence service at their disposal. I am 100% sure now what happened to Diana wasn’t an accident after watching Harry still fighting with this sh*t years later leaving his country.

      • Blogger says:

@Sevenblue Diana did write that should her death be untimely it would be a car accident, and it would be Charles behind it.

Should Harry meet such an accident, his father is already on record saying that it would not be a repeat of Diana therefore his request for security is denied.

      • StarWonderful says:

@Blogger, I agree. It sure makes one rethink the mystery around Diana’s untimely death.

    • Blogger says:

Excellent! That is the chef’s kiss.

Willie may have the tabloids on his side – for now – but the public ain’t duped.

      • sunnyside up says:

They have done a pretty good job of duping their readers over the last 5 years about Meghan.

    • Nic919 says:

If it is the same clip I saw, this man also mentioned Jason Knauf. Which really means the British public isn’t blind.

  15. Eurydice says:

Well, I’ll be interested to see what happens, but I won’t lose any sleep over it. The board are all adults with years of experience and they can take care of themselves. I’m not thrilled with them letting Harry take all the heat or allowing Meghan to get dragged into this. Perhaps they have a plan, perhaps they don’t.

    • sunnyside up says:

It was inevitable that Meghan would get dragged into it, by someone. But I thought it would be the Daily Express or the Wail.

  16. s808 says:

Her SkyNews interview was an own goal. Accusing H of bullying her by……putting put a joint statement? How is anyone supposed to take that seriously? She came across as petty, especially with her comments about no one telling her that M would be there (well duh?) and upset that Serena came (you’re welcome for the additional publicity?) and her accusations having no weight. It’s also very alarming that she felt that Sentable should be “done” with HIV/Aids and switch the climate resilience. The area they serves still has a high rate of HIV and with cuts to USAID, Sentable will probably be needed now more than ever.

    • MsIam says:

A charity that helps children in one specific country/region should be “done” with that and switch to climate change where there are already multiple players on the scene? This is one cold hearted bitch. She wanted the chance to be a global player and instead she is going to be found out to be at best incompetent and at worst an embezzler. Because her reaction to this thing is giving red flags about where that money really went and who are the “consultants “ she paid.

      • s808 says:

Exactly, she wanted Sentable to focus on a “trendier” cause so she could rub elbows with power players at the expense of the foundation and people they serve.

      • sunnyside up says:

There should be a paper trail to who the consultants were. And if there isn’t then she has done something wrong.

      • GMH says:

I have not been willing to agree with all the KP conspiracy theorists on this. I am still skeptical but the fact that this terror wants to redirect the charity to ckimate and Sustainability is eerily close to Egg’s pet issue. Coincidence? Perhaps. Strange indeed though.

      • MsIam says:

@Sunnyside, it’s very easy to create a paper trail, embezzlers do it all the time. We had a case here in my city where the CFO of a company was approving massive contracts and checks to these vendors. It turned out he was the owner of the vendors but of course he did not disclose any of that. He’s now awaiting sentencing for prison. I’m very suspicious of these unnamed consultants and also how Sophie changes the subject whenever anyone presses the issue.

  17. Nanooo says:

I finally realized why “Dr” Chandauka’s moves seem so familiar.
    She’s another Candace Owens.
Her next move will be to cozy up to MAGA or the British equivalent. I’m calling it now.

  18. Steph says:

This is somewhat of topic. Am I the only who noticed she referred to Dr. Kelillo Lerotholi as a woman during the sky interview? It seems like a error but the fact that she correct herself it seem like she doesn’t actually know him. And makes her more like a liar.

    • Steph says:

*It seems like a minor error, but she doesn’t seem to realize it. That makes it seem like she doesn’t actually know who he is and therefore her word about him can’t be trusted.

  19. pottymouth pup says:

Let me tell you, as someone who has started their own 501c3 and been on the board of NPOs, nothing cheeses me off more than when some famous people and cameras show up to one of our fundraisers – after all, it’s clearly incredibly detrimental to a charity when famous people or a camera crew attract attention from the public that helps spread awareness of a charity & it’s cause or helps raise funds. No siree, charities definitely don’t want those things /s

  20. aquarius64 says:

Sophie claimed she was broadsided by the resignation when it was announced on March 25th. She got the resignation letter on March 10th. Huh?

    • MsIam says:

Sounds kind of like the way Harry “broadsided” the queen. These people always tell on themselves. And wasn’t it convenient that she had a replacement board of directors line up so quickly.

  21. Me at home says:

I wish some board members would put out a nonspecific statement along the lines of, “The board has been in talks with Chandauka for several months over concerns about management and we look forward to the complete investigation.” And maybe, PS this is the first we’re hearing about her concerns over our founders.

    • Blogger says:

The Baroness Trustee already did an interview with The Times a couple of days ago. That’s sufficient. She strikes me as the lead board member there against Sophie.

      • Eurydice says:

It’s obviously not sufficient. The board resigned first, then Harry and Prince Seeiso left in solidarity. So where is the solidarity now? Why are they allowing Harry and Meghan to take the hit?

      • MsIam says:

@Eurydice I’m sure that the board and Harry have been advised by lawyers not to make any more public statements. This is 99.99% likely to end up in courts somewhere so why give the other side potential ammunition.

    • Jaded says:

It’s called “grey rocking”. You ignore the narcissist’s bad behaviour which so enrages them that they escalate their attacks, lies and back-stabbing to the point where they dig themselves into a hole they can’t get out of.

  22. Me at home says:

I hope, but don’t have much confidence, that the British press will expose William’s role and general awfulness here. A small charity doing great work on an underserved issue like child HIV should do a 180 and enter the crowded climate change arena, really, does anybody take this seriously?

    • sunnyside up says:

I suspect that she wants to go into politics and is using the children’s charity as a jumping off point.. Will the children that the charity has been helping have any access to the HIV drugs in the future?

  23. Monika says:

I watched the Jeremy Vine show this morning. The Jeremy Vine show is a UK day time show discussing current events with two panelists, a panel discussion and call ins from the public. Of course they discussed Sophie Chandauka’s interview, allegations and the fall-out.

Except of one all callers supported Harry and Meghan. One caller pointed out that Sophie Chandauka missed the trick with Netflix and Harry’s and Meghan’s high profile friends such as Serena Williams attended the Sentebale polo match for using it as publicity for Sentebale.

The one caller who did not support Harry was on about the titles and appeared to think that Harry still gets money from UK government or the King.

There was also a lawyer on the program to give some expertise. She, Paula …,, pulled Jeremy Vine up when he dragged Meghan into the discussion referring to Meghan as “his wife” in a very dismissive tone. Paula responded that she was waiting when Meghan will be dragged into the discussion and “when an asteroid hits the earth we know who is to blame”. This was her last comment.

Another caller pointed out that Sophie Chandauka hired William’s “henchman” Iain Rawlinson to the board. At that point Jeremy Vine cut short the discussion. It was funny to watching the panelists tried not to get too mush drawn into discussion, one pretending he was bored of reading all the time about Harry.
However the public are getting wise to the BM strategies to defame Harry and Meghan and some individuals using this as well to further their agenda.

However I am wondering at which point it becomes a legal liability because Sophie Chandauka does immense damage and borders on character assassination. I hope everything will unravel soon and the Charity Commission complete their investigation soon.

    • Blogger says:

Thanks for the summary! The only reason I can think of why Jeremy Vine cut short the person who mentioned Rawlinson must be because the Windsors, especially Willie, are watching his show.

Let’s face it, the Lazies are idle after the school morning drop off so daytime TV is their way of feeling the sentiment of the nation. Calling Rawlinson Willie’s henchman might mean complaints from the Palace to Jeremy.

      • sunnyside up says:

It was very telling the way the discussion was cut off as soon as the connection to William was mentioned, it sounds as if Vine could be aware that William is trying to wreck Harry’s work, and never mind about the children who will suffer.

    • sevenblue says:

Legally speaking, it seems to me, she is covering her ass. She doesn’t lie about an event that didn’t happen, but uses general words about feeling bullied and attacked personally. She isn’t citing fake events to support those claims. She says that their statement made her feel like bullied. You can’t sue for that. If she makes up an event that didn’t happen, then it becomes an issue of lawsuit. That is why she is being vague and focuses on her feelings.

      • Monika says:

This is a valid point, sevenblue. In her interview with Sky news Sophie Chandauka only gave Harry’s statement to the press as an example for Harry’s harassment and unleashing his PR machine on her which is imo a very weak argument. At one point in the interview Sophie Chandauka actually said that she had a positive relationship with Harry which is contradictory.
But Sophie Chandauka must have put something about her alleged mistreatment by Harry, Seeiso, or the other trustees, some examples or evidence, in her complaint to Charity commission. The charity Commission probably want more than just feelings and perception.

    • Dee(2) says:

Things may just be at a bit of an inflection point with the British public. As many have noted it’s been 5 years. Regardless of how the public may have felt in the beginning, it’s clear they aren’t coming back. Individuals may not have liked the Oprah interview, or the docu series, or Spare but it was their right to do it. Also to be fair  Spare came out over 2 years ago , it’s been years since they have spoken about the family at all. Despite the British media trying to tie every single purchase to them making some sort of ” subtle nod or diss”.

I think we are at the people are not dumb point of the story. It’s no secret that the Carolenean reign has been underwhelming. And then you have in the last 6 weeks the complete unhinged over reaction to a lifestyle TV show, a podcast, the ability to see a private individuals Visa, and now this charity stuff. It has to have become pretty clear to the public that the  Windsor goal is to ruin or steal after initial dismissal anything Harry and Meghan do because they are the innovators. For the continued acceptance of the royal brand they must hammer in the point you are not allowed to succeed without us, the only way to succeed is through reflected glory that we allow.

      • Blogger says:

The problem with the current crop of Windsors is none of them are inspiring.

Chuck will be remembered for how he treated Diana. Willie for his laziness and now his vendetta against his brother. As for George, he’s the pampered little prince whose mother hides her very middle class roots.

It’s very much Wizard of Oz for the House of Windsor – all smoke and mirrors. They’re boring AF IOW.

      • Me at home says:

Yep, in the past six weeks, the Daily Fail comments have slowly turned against the hate campaign. We’re not there yet, and we may never get there if many of the haters are paid bots, as many of us suspect. But you can see the tide turning clearly in comments on articles on Kate’s shoulder pads, where the bots aren’t present, and even in pro-Sussex comments on the Daily Fail’s more shameless mainstream hit jobs. And the BM articles and haters have become strikingly even more unhinged, suggesting even they know they’re losing ground.

    • Jais says:

I see Jeremy Vine clips online and he can be very quick to shut down certain conversations. Conveniently. He’s v aware of what he’s doing. At the end of the day he’s there to uphold the monarchy.

    • Me at home says:

FWIW, I was trying to post about William’s fingerprints, including Rawlinson and the curious pivot to climate change, today on the Daily Fail. (I usually try to stay away from it, but it seemed someone should tell those idiots what might be happening.) I must have posted about it 5 times, of course without obscenities or the usual flags, and all my comments were deleted.

  24. Moniquep says:

How does one take an organization with a stated mission, and tru to change that mission to something totally different, then claim to be surprised when you meet with resistance? According to her, the original purpose of Sentabale is no longer appropriate, really? So is HIV/AIDS vanquished in Lesotho and Botswana? children are no longer being orphaned or dying? OK, so let’s change our mission to address climate resilience and income equality.
Then you wonder why donors who signed up to support the original mission, would leave? and take their money elsewhere?
Additionally, The Princes are the face of the organization, they bring in the donations. The picture of Harry holding that baby that was brutalized the father, seeing Harry practically in tears, will forever be emblazoned in my mind.

In all of this woman’s blathering , she never once mentioned the needs of the children. I guess In her mind they no longer matter. But according to her, the charity will live on with or without the people who started it. Yeah, sure Sophie!

    • Robert Wright says:

      @Moniquep,
If this happened in this calander year, since the resignations were this month that’s what I assume, then it’s even worse to be trying to change the direction of the charity. With USAID being dismantled, the need for HIV/AIDS funding is even more imperative. Where would these kids get help if not from this Charity non reliant on USAID?

    • sunnyside up says:

It may still call itself Sentebale, it may use the money given by people who wanted to directly help the children but it is not Sentebale any longer, it is a different charity with different aims.

  25. Giddy says:

This woman sounds deranged. As for William’s fingerprints on this, remember that he said Africa was “his”, so I guess he is hoping to have his people take over Sentebale, a charity founded by Harry. William’s jealousy knows no bounds.

  26. Lady Digby says:

    Media coverage
Negative publicity, including ‘social media storms’, can have lasting damage on a charity’s reputation and may attract Charity Commission attention. Charities should have in place an effective social media policy, as well as giving thought to public relations, communications, and reputation management strategies. Trustees should consider whether to submit a serious incident report to the Commission themselves if media coverage could lead to risk.

  27. Noor says:

Harry’s brand is labelled toxic by the chairperson. Harry should reply to this as the charges are not merely PR stunt. Harry’s brand is not toxic as proven in his various charity endeavors.

When Harry step aside from being a senior working royal , it is a fact that friends, donors, etc. are split. Most abandoned Harry and aligned themselves with Charles and William as they represent the powerful institution of monarchy with the attending benefits of palace invites and honours, etc.

Everybody understand this and it is common knowledge. For the chairperson to claim in 2024 her ignorance of this fact when looking for donors and senior hires is pure bunkum. Why should the Board waste their time to discuss this matter when it is self evident.

There are donors who support Harry and there are donors who won’t cos they fear to offend the Palace etc. Just look at Invictus Games. Harry is able to attract Boeing as sponsor for the games. A smart chairwoman should be able to work this out and approach the right person or donor.

    • Noor says:

Let me add the word “friend” to the sentence, “Most friends abandoned Harry…..”

    • sevenblue says:

Harry doesn’t have to answer to any of this woman’s weird accusations. He made a statement already. People who left Sentebale are still working with him in his other projects. They know who this woman is.

    • Jaded says:

The less Harry and Seeiso say the better. Narcissists like Sophie will take anything negative anyone says about them and twist it so it makes them look like the innocent victim. She wants to put them on the defense which infers guilt. The more they ignore her the more enraged she becomes and her attacks escalate. She’s basically digging her own grave.

  28. fwiw says:

Some people yesterday on the previous post about Chandauka pointed out that moving Sentebale toward “climate change” lined it up with Earthshot.

Perhaps William’s plan was to absorb Sentebale into Earthshot, to take what was Harry’s and make it his own.

    • Libra says:

At what point will William step in and be the White Knight that rescues Sentabale??

    • Me at home says:

Agree William wouldn’t mind taking over Sentebale, or folding it into Earthshot with a new climate focus like Sophie says (poor children with HIV). But William would also be thrilled if Harry’s remaining African charity were killed. It’s a win-win for William.

      Watch out, Invictus.

      • AR says:

        @me at home
William won’t do anything. He’s a stupid, hot-headed, lazy lazybones, Earthshot was taken away from him. Now he’s just a figurehead who takes pictures with celebrities he pays to be there, like Heidi Klum, who was disarmingly honest, and told how they called with an offer. 🙂

    • Where'sMyTiara says:

@fwiw – just like Willy did with Heads Together – drove Harry out of the UK with Pa, then siphoned the charity into his. Since we know W cooks the books like his dad, who knows if anyone’s still benefiting from it.

  29. Tina says:

She’s overplayed her hand honestly. I have a feeling she will hold on to sentebele as it seems clear people (cough cough KP) are helping her. But there’s no long term viability for this charity. It will limp on for awhile and then quietly fold when the backers no longer want to fund her. William has achieved his goal of taking another thing Harry loves and he won’t want to pay for Sophie forever. At the recent UPfront conference Harry said something interesting about not starting another charity and instead working through companies with his ethics. I guess he already knew what the future for sentebele was. What a shame for the innocent children especially with USAID withdrawing so much funding globally.

  30. Ohwell says:

She will be working for earthstuff very soon because I can’t imagine she would destroy her reputation for nothing. Who would want to work with someone who destroyed a charity?

    • Me at home says:

My guess as well. William will fold her into some part of Earthstuff where she can’t do much harm.

  31. Me at home says:

This is absolutely a hostile takeover from William “Africa is mine, Harry!” Wales. The presence of Iain Rawlinson by Sophie’s side all week, and her stated desire to pivot to his signature issues of climate change and wealth, are the tells. I hope someone in British media will do an in-depth investigation and expose, but I have little confidence. The Guardian?

    • sunnyside up says:

The Guardian has very few readers, last time I looked at the figures the Wail was the most popular news site in Britain.

  32. Over it says:

So what she is telling us is that she wants to wear Meghan skin .
She wants Serena to come be her friend and come hang out with her . She wants Harry to come be her husband and put his arms around her . She started with the charity, what’s next , the house , the children? This woman is seriously not alright and I don’t know how Harry does this .He is clearly more level headed than me because I would absolutely not be taking the ramblings of a mad woman so calmly especially when it’s my reputation and charity on the line .

    • Lau says:

It does sound like she’s annoyed because the attention is not on her 24/7. It would also explain why she is milking this situation while she is still under the spotlight of the tabloids.

      • Lady Digby says:

She is basking in all the media attention and has establishment Ian as here protector, consligere and walker. She is starring on her own narrative and won’t be constrained by facts or being fair. Just ready for my closeup and more allegations of how me and Harry had a FANTASTIC relationship until SHE came along!!

  33. QuiteContrary says:

I made myself watch that interview and she did not do herself any favors.

She said, at the beginning, that HIV/AIDS is no longer a death sentence, and so Sentebale can move on to other concerns.

That is true for people with access to the lifesaving medications and doctors needed to manage the illness. How are orphaned children supposed to gain that access?

And Rawlinson might as well have worn a placard around his neck reading, “Prince William’s proxy.”

Her anger toward Harry is so strange.

    • sunnyside up says:

Neither Harry or Meghan showed him the deference he thinks he deserves for being the first born son of a King. Remember Meghan telling him to get his finger out of her face.

  34. Maja says:

Look around you. All the headlines in the right-wing newspapers are directed exclusively against Prince Harry, as if this woman were only telling the truth. The timing alone speaks a different language. But the main thing is that right-wing newspapers can bash Harry and Meghan together without objection from the RF. Since hardly any serious newspapers are writing about the scandal, the net is overflowing with the usual smear campaign against Harry and Meghan
What a disgusting and crazy affair.

  35. Kate says:

The fact this went from the trustees asked her to leave to the Sussex’s are toxic, its Meghan’s fault, shows the true motive for all this. Now was it her original goal or did she use it to work in her favor after she was asked to leave. And No, people are not seeing through this, the headlines are all people will take into this and the headlines are Harry is a bully, Meghan is to blame and the Sussex’s are toxic. Her voice is the only voice that is out there. Invictus is next, he’ll step down for the good of the games. I hope he doesn’t but they’ve successfully done it now with sentebale, they’ll try Invictus next.

  36. VilleRose says:

I haven’t followed this story too much but the fact is the whole board resigned AND the two co-founders are all a huge red flag. It’s very conspiracy theory sounding to think the entire board resigned and are out to get her when she most likely did something inappropriate. My guess is Harry and Seeiso will not say anything beyond their initial statement and let their lawyers figure it out/legal system do its thing. Saying anything else would only bring more scrutiny. They’ll let Sophie Chandauka make a fool of herself in interviews. This woman will probably end up resigning once the “follow the money” process is set in motion.

  37. therese says:

Can Sophie “puff puff” Chandauka redirect the long standing and clearly defined goals of the charity just on her own? Is she able to appoint trustees? I wonder if her ferocity in attack denotes how much wrong she has committed. I hope she goes down hard. And yes, this is hard to watch, and I hope there is an investigation that the world will get to hear about. I wish I could send her a bigger, greener marijuana pin that she could wear on her lapel for all her interviews as a clear indication of her good judgment and taste.

  38. Lady Digby says:

No longer hindered by the Princes Sophie is free to fund raise and centre stage herself at all Sentebale events from now on. Forget Dr, she’s the Supreme Star of Sentebale and will get that Knighthood from King William as soon as possible!!

  39. sammi says:

David IAIN Rawlinson was a Trustee and Chair of TUSK Charity in Africa and William is the royal Patron.
Tusk is not as well known as Sentebale or Prince Harry….Guess who Rawlinson and this woman will ask to be the new Patron? Invictus will be next in thier sights.

  40. Sean Malloy says:

We all have our roles to play in life.
And, some lives are happier than others.
Heavily used palaces, entitled servants and metric tons of dishes, old portraits and silverware versus a breezy, open air $16 mil mega mansion overlooking the Pacific, a gorgeous, loving family and freedom…
Many twists and turns yet to come. Stay loose.

  41. Bronco says:

    She’s a lawyer, right?

The team (Harry’s lawyers, I’m sure) gave her a warning shot which was very clear – she’s made defamatory statements.

That’s all they needed to say.

She’s going to be sued up the wazoo if she keeps this up. And in jail for embezzlement if that’s found. No wonder she’s rabid.

  42. blunt talker says:

Chandauka apparently has a history of hostile takeovers, per her Wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sophie_Chandauka

“Since qualification, Chandauka has worked on a number of high-profile transactions, including the attempted hostile takeover of the London Stock Exchange Group by the Macquarie Group; the acquisition of The Body Shop by L’Oréal; Nike, Inc.’s acquisition of Umbro; and the initial public offering (IPO) of Ferrexpo as the first Ukrainian company to be listed on the London Stock Exchange.”
