Virginia Giuffre’s family confirms that she is being hospitalized after an accident

A few days ago, Virginia Giuffre posted a photo of herself looking bruised and at death’s door. She said that she was in a car which had been struck by a school bus, and that she was being hospitalized for renal failure due to her bus-crash injuries, and she only had days to live. Virginia has lived in Australia for years, although I think her family maintains some kind of home in America, and obviously, Virginia was just a regular American teenager when Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein began trafficking her to Prince Andrew and other wealthy friends. Anyway, after Virginia’s story went global, Australian law enforcement came out and said that actually, the accident wasn’t that bad?

After Virginia Giuffre, who previously accused late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and Prince Andrew of sexual abuse, claimed she has four days to live following an incident in Australia, officials have confirmed a “minor crash” between a bus and a car.

Though Australian officials released details on the aforementioned auto accident to PEOPLE when asked about Giuffre’s claims, it was not confirmed if the incident was connected to Giuffre, 41. There were no serious injuries and nobody was taken to hospital, according to authorities.

The Western Australia Police said the collision happened in Neergabby, 12 miles north of Perth, shortly after 3:00 p.m. local time on March 24, and there were “no reported injuries” in the crash, in a statement to PEOPLE.

“The collision was reported by the bus driver the following day. The car sustained approximately $2,000 worth of damage,” police said in a statement. Acting Police Commissioner Kylie Whitely confirmed during a press conference on Tuesday, April 1, that the incident involved a 71-year-old woman at the wheel of the car and a 41-year-old woman in the passenger seat, news.com.au reported.

After that, a bunch of weird, horrible people then claimed that Virginia was “lying” about her health, just as she “lied” about Epstein and Andrew…? Again, Epstein and Prince Andrew wouldn’t have settled with Virginia for millions of dollars in hush money… you know what, let’s not even start. Anyway, Virginia’s family clapped back on the local Aussie law enforcement:

Virginia Giuffre’s family released a statement following her Instagram post in which she claimed she had “four days to live” due to injuries sustained in a vehicle crash. In a statement obtained by PEOPLE, Giuffre’s family said she had meant to make the post on a private social media account.

“Virginia thanks everyone for the outpouring of love and support,” the statement said. “She is overwhelmed with gratitude. Today she remains in serious condition while receiving medical care. On March 24, in rural Western Australia, a school bus hit the car in which she was riding,” the statement continued. “The police were called but said that there was no one available to come to the scene. They asked if anyone was injured and suggested that if they were, they should make their way to the hospital.”

Giuffre’s family went on to say that the school bus driver had a bus full of “distraught children” and left the scene before later filing a police report, and that Giuffre was bruised and returned home.

“Virginia’s condition worsened and she was admitted to the hospital,” her family said. “Concerning her Instagram post, Virginia thought that she had posted on her private Facebook page. Virginia and her family thank everyone for their concern.”

Again, this is Australia. While there are densely populated cities, there’s also a whole lot of nothing for miles and miles. Australian police don’t have the time or resources to come to the aid of every person who gets in a car accident or gets bitten by some crazy local reptile. I believe the cops were probably like “it sounds like a minor accident, whatever.”

Some derangers are still defending Andrew.

Well, if the bus was full of children, there will be more stories coming out, from at least some of the parents.

Which makes the story even more strange. Yes the police wouldn’t go to every crash site, but not even one involving many kids?

And it’s strange that nobody on the bus was injured, not even a bit. No matter how much more forceful the bus is, it still hit something.

  3. Bryn says:

It’s still an odd story. Everyone jumping to weird conspiracy conclusions about the royals and comparing it to Diana’s death was bizarre. And neglecting to mention she is due in court next week about breaching a family violence restraining order is a choice.

  4. Jaded says:

A charge of allegedly breaching a family violence restraining order was lodged against her a few days before claiming she had days to live following a bus crash. No plea was entered at the hearing and the matter is next listed for a hearing on April 9. Her estranged husband Robert, 49, is also facing separate charges. Mr. Giuffre was charged with inadequate storage for guns in February of this year as well as reckless driving exceeding the speed limit by 45km in September last year.

This sounds all kinds of messy.

    • Brassy Rebel says:

Yes, two things can be true. Virginia Giuffre was raped by Andrew Windsor while still a teenager, and Giuffre’s life has gotten a bit messy since then. In fact, these two things may be cause and effect.

    • Lizzie Bathory says:

Yikes. From her post saying how hard the new year had been to talking about not seeing her kids it sounded like there were some sort of family problems going on. And the gun storage charge plus the reckless driving are both red flags.

    • ML says:

      From The West Australian:
“Court records show Ms Giuffre is accused of breaching a family violence restraining order at an Ocean Reef property on February 2.
She faced Joondalup Magistrates Court for the first time on March 14 and is next due in court on Tuesday.”

She and her husband, Robert, met in Thailand when she was sent there at the age of 19 by Epstein and Maxwell. He essentially married her and whisked her to Australia away from Epstein and Maxwell. Considering she was already abused as a young kid, had a tumultuous homelife, was homeless, abused some more and ran into Maxwell and Epstein at the age of 14, you could say he seemed to rescue her. Since the beginning of this year, they’ve separated and are (apparently) involved in a contentious divorce. That, this accident, her childhood, the relationship with her kids…it’s incredibly sad.

Anyone remember the model Niki Taylor? She was huge in the 1990s era (not as huge as Cindy/Naomi/Linda et al, but she was a cover girl spokesperson). She was visiting Atlanta some years back and she was in a car accident. She seemed fine, went home. Then was admitted to the hospital a few hours later at death’s door–she had massive internal injuries. She was in the trauma hospital for weeks, and barely survived. She was admiited to the hospital in critical condition. I wonder if something like that happened here.

I just looked it up and it happened in 2001.

    • antipodean says:

@Ianne, I remember Nikki Taylor well, she was the next big thing in her day, but it all came to nothing for her unfortunately. She had a very sad and messy time of it, and was a long term girlfriend of Keith Urban’s. As I recall he has a lot to answer for for the way he treated her, of the “use her up, and throw her away” variety. I have always had a side ways look for him after that, and wonder just how supportive Mr Nicole Kidman has chosen to be these days in an effort to change his image. Nicole didn’t get no prize!

      • Bqm says:

@lanneThat’s not what happened. Niki was taken, by her own words, from the scene. She did look uninjured and thought she needed to go home for her sons but she collapsed at the site and went into a coma

@antipodean As for Keith, she even said years later that they broke up because of their schedules. She didn’t even get her tattoo commemorating him removed for more than a decade and then because it was keeping her from some gigs.

She retired from modeling for years to raise her kids after a divorce then a remarriage, fertility issues and two more kids. She’s made a comeback with cover girl in recent years.

Any accident without serious outward injuries should be closely monitored for internal bleeding, both body & head. Some bleeding is small and the impact of lost of blood or brain edema won’t show until hours later.

On Virginia’s case, it’s probably blood lose from her kidney injury suffered during the car crash.

  6. JFerber says:

Brassy Rebel, you said it perfectly.

  7. JFerber says:

Also, I wish her the very best and hope she recovers her health and does what she needs to nurture herself. I can’t imagine how you heal from what was done to her at such an early age.

  8. Tuni says:

She is incredibly courageous to speak out about Andrew. That must have been intensely traumatizing too. It’s gross the police spoke on tge record like it was trivial yet they never even first hand saw the site or had a visual assessment of Virginia. They could have been Gentler about the situation. Said ‘as far as we know’ and shared they never attended the site instead of such emphatic confirmations nothing big happened etc. I’m glad her family defended her publicly.

Get well Virginia only the best to you
