I call this one “Don’t Cry For Me, Argentina”. Seriously, I’m expecting Mandy Patinkin’s voice to come on telling me that Angelina is speaking to us from the balcony of the Casa Rosada. Anyway, this are some new photos of Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp filming The Tourist on Tuesday, March 2 in Venice. I have no idea what they’re doing beyond that. Angelina spent a week in Paris filming in the same fabulous white-and-beige outfit, and now this? Is she wearing a wedding dress? And what’s with the lighting? It makes her look like a Disney villainess.
I call this one “Look behind you, Angie! He’s coming!”
In yet another interview with Depp -while he’s trying to promote Alice In Wonderland – he was asked about Angelina and The Tourist. He explained signing on for the project as “something that kind-of arrived with Angelina Jolie attached and it seems good. It seems like something different for me. If it’s related to anything genre-wise it’s got a “North by Northwest” feel to it that I like. I’ve seen her in a couple of things and she seems awfully great, you know: seems like a good girl. Loves her family, loves her man, loves the work.’” Aw. This is similar to what Depp said about her earlier this week, to Hello Magazine.
One more question: is this movie going to be filmed exclusively on balconies?

I have a suggestion: Why don’t you stop speculating about the movie and just wait until they complete filming? There is no way to tell what is going on from a few still photos. They might film on a balcony for the next two weeks and when the movie comes out there might be 2 minutes of them on the balcony. You just can’t tell from photos.

Johnny is one of my favourite actors but, I mean, are you serious when you say that he is hot in those pictures?

I don’t know why I never saw it before, but she has a severe case of jut jaw. Gorgeous from the front, not so much from the side. Her upper lip looks like it’s getting ready to eat her nose.

Did anyone read Baba Yaga fairy tales with the witch whose nose and chin nearly meet up? Kinda reminds me of that. I know she is talented but she is so overexposed in the media I make a point of avoiding anything she’s in now, including movies about schlepping back and forth across a balcony.
I do feel like the constant movie set photos are a little over the top. I felt the same way with Salt, and that Knight and Day (?) movie of Tom Cruise’s… I don’t need to see it by the time it comes out, because I’ve seen hundreds of photos and it already feels overexposed by the time the promotion starts. If I were a movie producer, I would try to clamp down on this stuff just in case it hurts the box office.

My my there must be so many many women with perfect features on this board. I will just say that whatever you think see wrong with Angelina is just the crazy lighting in that picture. If you feel better telling yourself Angelina isn’t all that attractive, I feel bad for you because I know you know your just lying to yourselves. Even with her imperfections Angelina is still stunning, and I love that Angelina is aging with grace and dignity.

the fact that you worship Angelina doesn’t automatically make you a beauty.
The saying “beauty is in the eye of the beholder” is still valid even when people are judging someone who bases its career on its appereance.
Finally, there’s a whole mechanism that guides people’s taste in almost everything that can be sold, even beauty standards.
I’m not attacking you, but stating that the people who criticize her do it because they are “fat ugly jellus h8r” is quite asinine and annoying. Try to find another clue to understand why some of us dislike her. I help you suggesting one reason: over rated actress/beauty.
Love Angelina: everyone has a right to their opinion and beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Perhaps you should respect that not everyone feels the same way you do! Maybe you are obsessed?

I think Robert Sparkles Pattinson is adorable. a LOT of people comment on here that they think he looks grubby, or smelly, or whatever. Ditto on Depp.

Johnny is just starting to look his age, but he still looks way younger than your average 46 year old.

I’ve got to back up love angelina here, though I didn’t think any comments on this specific post were really that bad. As far as standards of beauty go, Jolie is definitely above the norm. To say she’s unattractive is like saying that Scarlett Johansson, Catherine Zeta-Jones or Megan Fox are not pretty – it just reveals something more like bias than personal taste. Even women who are considered to have more “girl next door” looks, like Aniston, Garner, and Sandra Bullock, I would never hesitate for a second to call absolutely lovely.
That said, I can see how someone might think any or all of those women are prettier than Jolie – but to call her or insinuate that she is unattractive – come on! Unless you have some sort of phobia for a very specific feature, like her large lips (or Brad Pitt’s beard…)
I agree Dala. I cannot stand Megan Fox and I think she’s dumb as a rock but there is no way I think she is unattractive. The girl is stunning!! I just don’t see how anybody can refer to Angelina Jolie as “unattractive” or “old looking” or say her chin looks like a witch. I mean, really! There is nothing wrong with disliking her personally or thinking her acting is awful, but to say her beauty is “overrated” is just plain ridiculous!! Obviously none of you were ever in a debate club because your logic is flawed.
I have to say that I am loving the costuming (it looks kind of different/more glamourous than most contemporary thrillers/action flicks these days. But I’m only judging by a few pics from the set of course).
I think that both Johnny and Angelina look gorgeous in the pics I have seen so far. I hope that they will have some good chemistry together in this film, it will be interesting to see how this movie turns out.

Dala, years ago, I thought that Angelina was a fresh-faced cutie, but I didn’t consider her stunning, or amazingly beautiful. I thought she had quite odd cartoonish features, especially her eyes and lips*, specifically her whole mouth.
If you ask me who is stunning to me, I would say Audrey Hepburn, Monica Bellucci, Lauren Bacall, Virna Lisi, Rachel Weisz, Cate Blanchett, Milla Jovovich and Kate Winslet.
*I haven’t phobias about huge lips, my sister has beautiful puffy lips, but they are not odd looking. Mine too are quite puffy.

Er, beauty is highly subjective, mslewis. There is no real logic to it. People find others beautiful for many different things.
I, for one, think Angelina’s lips look weird-she pushes them away from her teeth when she talks, she has a massive head and her nose is too small for her face. And now that I’ve seen her profile, she has a Witchypoo chin. The only things I find pretty about her are her eyes and hair.
But that is merely my opinion of her. Some people find her exceptionally beautiful. I don’t. It’s not because I’m ugly, or self-conscious, or “jellis” (my new favorite spelling of that word!), it’s just that I have different ideas of what is beautiful. And I won’t make apologies for my personal opinion on someone’s beauty.
And Johnny Depp is just gorge. I think he’s just getting older and growing into his old man face.
beauty really is in the eye of the beholder…..for me i think Angie is beautiful and has a wonderful screen presence…..someone else might think audrey Hebpurn is beautiful…..but some people might say Audrey is rake thin and her veins pop and she has a huge forehead and is really ugly and has a mousy face and they might go on like people here who dont think Angie is beautiful..
