I love neighbor feuds. Especially when they’re between famous people. When regular neighbors have feuds, it’s more along the lines of “Stop planting those petunias eight inches onto MY side of the property line!” When celebrity neighbors have feuds, it escalates to “How dare you put your infinity pool nine feet onto my side of the property line!” I’m pretty sure the only thing that could possibly make a regular celebrity feud even more awesome is if it features a has-been, c-list actor who everyone thought was dead. And by everyone I mean me. That’s right, I could only be talking about Pauly Shore, star of my favorite lame movie ever, “Biodome.” And since I just watched it the other night, it seems especially appropriate to comment on Shore’s feud with neighbor Wes Craven. Pauly claims that Wes Craven didn’t properly maintain his property, which caused a landslide onto Shore’s property. This is so much less glamorous than an infinity pool feud.
Shore claimed that a landslide on his Hollywood Hills property in December 2006 was caused by Craven’s failure to properly maintain vegetation and landscaping on a hillside on his property, according to a lawsuit filed Monday in Superior Court. The comedian also alleged that Craven, the director of “A Nightmare on Elm Street” and the “Scream” series, did not eradicate rodents burrowing in the hill and made improvements on his property that “changed the geology, topography and drainage,” according to the lawsuit.
A call to Craven’s attorney Wednesday was not returned. Shore’s allegations are part of a countersuit in response to a suit filed on behalf of Craven last June. Craven alleged that Shore upgraded his home with a pool, spa, landscaping and other improvements that caused water to seep down a slope and damage his property. Both suits seek unspecified damages and a judgment determining who should be held responsible.

Something tells me this should end with a good old fashioned slap fight. Jokes aside, I can’t imagine how frustrating it must be to have a feud with your neighbor. You should be able to come home and get away from crap like that. It sounds like this has been a long-running problem, and like both parties have contributed to the problem. Although I have to say that Pauly Shore’s home’s problem of a pool, spa, and landscaping sounds a lot better than Craven’s home’s problem of rodents. I would definitely take a spa over a rat any day. Whoever thought Pauly Shore would come off as classier than someone else?
