It’s premiere day here at Celebitchy – last night, the premieres of Salt, The Extra Man and Dinner for Schmucks were held, so we’re probably going to parceling this stuff out throughout the day. I had actually forgotten that the Kate-Bot had done this film, The Extra Man. It’s a comedy-drama about a playwright and a male escort or something. I was trying to read the synopsis and I got confused, actually. It costars John C. Reilly, Kevin Kline and Paul Dano, so it actually has a decent cast. But Katie Holmes stole the show at last night’s premiere when she tried out a new look, a new trend, and new hair. What do you think?
The striped dress and the short-heeled buckle shoes (?) read “old-school preppy” to me. Like Katie’s look is attempting a nouveau Connecticut-in-the-1980s trend. It doesn’t really suck that badly, only instead of making the outfit look fresh, the whole thing looks dated. I guess the hair is supposed to save it? Maybe. I don’t hate the hair, even though it should be a train wreck. She looks really young! Younger than she’s looked in a while.
God, do you know how much I love Paul Dano? He’s such a talented kid. I love his little hair flip too!
Doutzen Kroes decided the premiere needed some pregnant vadge, I guess. Are her legs insane or what? Out of all of the models out there, I wish I looked like her, from head to toe.

Katie’s hair is a lot better than it has been but the dress is a big NO and the shoes don’t work at all…especially for a premier.

the hair is an improvement. she also looks more aware of her surroundings and sober. i wish she looked happy more often.
Kate looks great, at least her dress looks much better than that disastrous dress Doutzen Kroes (whoever she is) has on.

Way to go Katie! She looks amazing. This classic look really suits her. The shoes are horrendous though.
I like Katie’s hair, and I actually like the shoes. I’m a librarian, and have a similar pair that I wear to work. LoL
The pregnant model’s dress is omg horrible, tho. I’m almost 5mos preggo with my 2nd kid, and I’m all about feeling fabulous and sexy when pregnant. But that dress just looks cheap and kinda slutty. When I first scrolled down I thought, “Oh no! She got the front of her dress stuck in her sweaty crotch when she got out of her limo and noone’s told her!”
I usually hate stripes but this dress actually looks decent to me, so for a stripe lover it must be great. I like the hair also, but not with the dress.
What’s with the “permanent stroke half-smile” that she always does? really, cant she do a full smile like a normal person? (sorry no offense to people with stroke) it’s just it weird whenever I see her smile.
The outfit puts way too much emphasis on those legs of hers, which teeter (ponderously) just this side of becoming huge, flabby, fleshy monstrosities.

Katie’s hair looks like it is from the late 80’s or early 90’s she must be trying to copy Angelina with out-of-date hair. And that ugly model has fish lips that are fake and looks like one or both of Charlie Sheen’s wives.
Katie’s dress would be cute if she wore it casually but not in those shoes and to a premiere. Ugh all around.

I’m stuck for something positive to say about any part of Katie’s appearance except that I like the shoes. I really dislike what passes for her smile; it’s more like an entitled smirk. If it’s physiological, then I’ll apologize!

Katie’s shoe/dress combination does not work at all. Her dress should have a pair of flip flops or white sneakers or funky high heeled shoes that are not black..and those black buckle shoes belong on their way to work, not a premiere.
I’m usually a big fan of loose, sexy hair…but I think this shape makes her face look too square and boxy.

She very nearly ruined Batman Begins with that ridiculously crooked “I’m so cute” smirk. That’s all I can think about when I see her.
The hair would be better if she didn’t just let it hang in the ringlets—she needs to comb through it with her fingers.
And I think I had those shoes back in 1986 (legal secretary)!! Ghastly!
And if you want to look like Doutzen, so be it; but I’d suggest some braces for that overbite! Yikes.
Poor thing. I think she WANTS to be a fashion trend-setter, but she only ends up looking ridiculous. I think she would look MUCH better if (1) she didn’t have the plastic surgery, and (2) she didn’t TRY so hard to be fashionable. Her fashion is almost as bad as Jessica Simpson.
But I don’t think it’s fair to criticize her for “smirking.” It looks to me like her right eye pulls down while the right side of her mouth pulls up — I’m thinking nerve damage at birth or something like that. It doesn’t look like she’s deliberately twisting her mouth, more like it’s something she can’t control. That’s not her fault. (But the bad fashion is).

I think Katie looks much more young and refreshing, I like the new style and got really bored of the old-classy like bon-ton dresses she used to wear. This is much better, isn’t it?

I do not like her hair. It is reminescent of the days when she was pregnant and dawdy. I loved it when she had shorter classier hair.
