Goodness, Jessica Simpson certainly looks dramatically slimmer, doesn’t she? She’s still in New York, only this appearance yesterday wasn’t making people gasp at how bloated she looked. I’m always amazed at Jessica’s ability to lose weight so quickly. She really does – I don’t know if it’s because she’s so petite already and there really isn’t that much weight to lose, or whether she just has the kind of metabolism and workout ethic where the weight comes pouring off quickly. Or maybe it’s just three pairs of Spanx worn together? Anyway, these are new photos of Jessica promoting her clothing line at Macy’s yesterday. Her boyfriend was in attendance… because what else does he have to do?
Jessica Simpson squeezed into a little black dress Wednesday to launch her new Jessica Simpson Collection at Macy’s in NYC. During the two-hour store appearance, she signed autographs and greeted fans, whom she had earlier invited (via Twitter) to wear articles from her denim, shoes or accessories line. (She later posted shots of them on Twitter, writing: “Everyone looks amazing in their denim! I’m so proud.”)
Simpson, 30, was pleased with the turn-out. “What a great night!!!” she gushed on Twitter. “Thanks to everyone for coming out and supporting the line.”
After the launch, she treated her boyfriend Eric Johnson to dinner to celebrate his 31st birthday. They were spotted at Lavo, where Us Weekly held its annual 25th Most Stylish New Yorkers bash earlier in the evening.
“It’s Eric’s birthday!!!!” Simpson Twittered earlier in the day. “Party in NYC!!!!!”

Below are photos of Jessica and Eric out in NYC yesterday – their body language is strange. She’s walking slightly ahead of him, and yet he’s kind of leading her, like she’s too stupid to walk by herself. They walk this way all the time – it’s their way. It’s also reminiscent of the way Tom Cruise leads Katie Holmes when Katie is all loopy on Xenu’s Love (Valium?). They’re so weird. I bet Jessica is pregnant by the end of the year.

Honestly, she doesn’t look that much slimmer… and she doesn’t look fat to begin with. She looks toned and sexy. I have a similar body type and I assure you a lot of men respond to it… not all though, some guys like them bony…

I kind of feel for her, I have a big butt and boobs and I can’t wear anything… I pretty much have to stick with things that are relatively form fitting because if I wear something too loose, it makes me look super heavy… but then, everybody wants to follow the current fashion trends… ahh, what to do what to do… luckily, I dress fairly basic and don’t follow many trends 🙂
IA with fizxgirl-its s shame women like Jessica Simpson get labled as fat (and whats wrong with being fat? people say its unhealthy but they dont give the same schtick to other things like alcohol or anorexia). she does look very different in the photos-can that really be the affect of spanx? i doubt it.

Some kind of bodyshaper (I swear by my girdle to smooth me out when wearing a form fitting dress) combined with a less busy dress which is (hallelujah) actually a flattering shape for her for once. She looks good 🙂
Apart from wearing a much cuter dress with better undergarments the first picture is also taken at a very flattering angle in very flattering lighting (flat lightling). She has way better posture in it as well, which helps enormously. In the other photos, her weight looks exactly the same as the other day.
Perhaps something to do with different camera lenses being involved too. I notice stars who often look just fine in pap shots and on TV look too thin in these events photos. I saw some pap pics of her sister Ashlee and weight wise she looked great, then one day later she turned up to some event and she looked like a damn lollipop. I noticed it with Mischa Barton too – paparatzi pics and TV showed her looking a bit chubby and then at some event, bang, she was skinny, just like Jess here. There is such a thing as a slimming camera lens.

Jessica just picked a flattering outfit for once. She is really not as big as people make her out to be, she just dresses in shit that emphasizes her where she’s bigger all the time.

And about the body language; you really cannot try to work out anything through like two photos when they are being hoarded by paps. Means nothing.
Spanx and a better dress, it’s clear in the pic with her boyfriends that she didn’t magically slimmed down in 24 hours…and to be honest, I’m tired of hearing that she’s curvy. She uses 5inch heels and undergarments and still looks so square with a pregnancy belly: this is not good, it’s just gross and unhealthy.

Thats the work of Spanx, a girdle and/or a corset that has her sucked in so much. You can still see her gut in that one pic but she really has herself packed into something there.

I think it’s a combination of the two. She looks like she’s lost several pounds, but also still puffy in non-Spanx areas. Better than before anyway. And could her wonderful boyfriend dress a bit better? Either she is inappropriately overdressed or he is inappropriately underdressed. Either way, they need to coordinate.

I just read on National Enquirer – and they usually are a reliable source, that she IS pregnant. She does look it. She is a beautiful girl and it’s ludicrous how she’s raked daily about a few extra pounds.
Did you notice that now that Ken is gone she looks better than she had for ages. He was her GBF and he let her look so bad. I read once that he secretly hated her, maybe it was true!

I feel for her. I am about 50 lbs. overweight and ALL of my weight is in my stomach. She is also very short-waisted just like I am . I am glad I don’t have the big chest to make me look even heavier. And you can’t lose the weight overnight. I am in the gym 5-6 days a week and it’s hard work.
Finally, she is a wearing a dress that is more flattering for her body shape!
It’s not just the Spanx, her arms look very toned. And that is a hard area to shape up.

Also, I’m not trying to hate, but I think there are inconsistencies on this site when it comes to how weight is written about. Jessica never flat out gets called chubby or fat. Instead, if she’s looking bigger, there are just comments about extra pounds, or worse, speculations about pregnancy, simply based on the extra weight (which, really, isn’t that the same thing as calling her fat?). And why is it ok to call Snooki a potato? If “potato” was substituted with the word “fat” or “chubby” such a reference to her shape and weight would definitely not be ok. Just saying…
I think it was kind of mean to call her “too stupid to walk”. Clearly, they are surrounded on all sides by reporters.He’s not leading her, he’s protecting her, or maybe trying to make the most of the very small amount of space available to walk in. Me-ow.

What I think is odd is that she was a teenager when she started and now that she is a women everyone has an issue with her body. She has grown into a woman and all the ggod and bad that may come with that. She looks great and she looks how she is genetically programmed to look.

@Kitten: Hahahaha!! They’re not that bad: I actually have a couple of pairs, although I rarely wear them – I bought them more because I was curious about all the hype. They certainly do squeeze my buns together and they can be hard work to get into and out of. But I don’t have much to squeeze, and they actually make it harder to get into my pants, so go figure. I think for dresses they probably give a nice line.
I think Jess just got it right this time – all black with no distractions cutting up her already short torso. The other black ensemble was too lacy with a high set waist – not a good look for short waisted women as we can see with Julia in the other thread.
I know that walk! My husband and I end up walking that way in crowds. He is quite tall and doesn’t want to be seen as pushy in a crowd, so what starts as holding hands ends up with me dragging him forward.
I’m with the “tone it down” crowd.
I never thought she was fat, ever. Jessica definitely is curvaceous! And as a woman with breasts myself, I can attest that even ten pounds can make a significant difference in how fit or fat you look (to borrow a line from Clueless).
She’s beautiful, healthy and there is nothing wrong with her. What is the point of starving yourself, and being a workout-aholic to fit the public’s opinion about “ideal body size”?
She obviously has a naturally curvy, broad-shoulder/hourglass shape. For her to be a skinny and fit as Giselle would require such an extreme investment in time and energy that I ADMIRE the fact that she says, Whatever. I’ll eat well and exercise moderately. No need to go overboard with things. Why should we as anonymous viewers expect her to exercise three hours a day? It’s ridiculous.

She’s not fat, never was. Her weight may fluctuate a few pounds here and there, but never fat. I think too many people remember when she was borderline anorexic for that horrible Dukes of Hazard movie, and she always dresses in very unflattering clothes for her figure.
This dress however, probably paired with Spanx for smoothing, is very flattering, and she looks great.

#58: I don’t agree with all you said. Jessica is not a hourglass, she’s more of an apple shape, and this is not curvacious, it’s actually an offense to curvy women with pronunced hips and breast and a smaller waist who have A LOT more problems into dressing properly. Even with spanx, she doesn’t even have a waist line! She has a flat ass, and her arms look so untoned, her face during one of her last appearence was old and bloated…
That’s said, nobody here thinks she should become anorexic, but she would clearly still be a (more) beautiful girl if she lose a little of that stomach fat.
Jessica needs to realize that as she gets older, it’ll be more difficult to lose weight like that. I used to be able to do that, too, but now that I’m in my 40’s, it’s not so easy. She should start a sensible exercise and eating plan now, in order to make it into a habit for later. Just my two cents.

End of the year? I think she’s a few months pregnant now, and have thought so for about the last month.
I think she looks just fine in any case- but she’s definitely wearing a corset or some kind of middle control- you can see the vertical lines under her dress in a few of those photos! Her legs, arms, and face all look about the same in both. (But again, she has a perfectly fine figure!)
