Several days ago, Radar reported that there was a war brewing between 60 Minutes and Oprah’s Harpo Productions, all to score Oksana Grigorieva’s first major television interview since the massive clusterf-ck of glum c-nt tapes. Of course, this wouldn’t be Oksana’s first real interview. She’s given multiple statements to Radar, including one short video interview to one of Radar’s editors. Anyway, Radar and Us Weekly are now reporting that Oprah has won! Suck it, 60 Minutes! (Actually, I enjoy 60 Minutes, so don’t suck it too hard!)
Oprah has landed Oksana. A source tells UsMagazine.com that Mel Gibson’s ex, Russian singer Oksana Grigorieva, will sit down with the daytime diva to talk about her rocky relationship with the 54-year-old actor, with whom she has a baby daughter, Lucia.
Winfrey, 56, whose 25th season ends this year, had been battling 60 Minutes for the sought-after sit-down.
A rep for Harpo, Winfrey’s production company, told Us it was not ready to make any announcement at this time.

Yeah, Oprah’s people rarely confirm the upcoming guests, so don’t take the non-confirmation as anything serious. I think Oksana is coming on Oprah, and I think it will be epic. Somewhere between Oprah’s Rielle Hunter interview and Oprah’s Tom Cruise couch-jumping interview. It should be great television!
Ooh, Oksana did give an exclusive statement to Hollywood TV:
Oksana refuses to confirm the Oprah stuff, but when asked about the potential extortion charges (because Mel Gibson offered to pay her to destroy the tapes where he admitted beating her, amongst other things), Oksana says: “I’ve never been afraid of extortion charges because there is none.”
She’s a smart lady if she chose Oprah-you know Oprah will side with her since she is such a huge advocate against spousal abuse.
Doing Oprah is a marvelous way to stand up to Mad Mel and his pack. Oksana is showing him her balls and giving a strong message to women everywhere to speak out about abuse.
She chose Oprah for a softball interview, which she would not have gotten on 60 Minutes.
I’m glad to hear that the “extortion” investigation is taking a change in direction; I do believe that Oks is the victim, not Mel, of extortion. This interview with Oprah is really going to send Mel more into hiding (even if he gets any custody with the child he will NOT be able to be seen in public with her); can you imagine what it’s going to do MORE to him? You know she’s getting BIG BUCKS for this and I hope it will put TREMENDOUS pressure on DA to file charges against the man (and add extortion charges). You know this is really good this would hopefully help other people come against powerful people like Mel and cause them to be disciplined/punished. You are NOT as powerful and big and bad as you think you are!!!! You have wealth/power but you cower behind disguising yourself not to be seen in public; you have power/wealth but you walk in shame!!
I do believe she is the victim of extortion, I do believe that her pregnancy was manipulation/entrapment, I do believe that Mel was infatuated with the idea of love not genuine love; I do not believe that Mel wanted this child like Oks is saying, I do not believe that Oks ever “loved” Mel like she says.
Great PR move from her new lawyer — she certainly needs the public sympathy and $$$.

This was Mel’s fault and at the same time Oks, I believe, had VERY GOOD knowledge of Mel’s ego/behavior that she should have gotten out of this relationship but staying with him would imply it was for other reasons and not “love”.
I am sick and tired of these women who get pregnant by a guy (for instance: adulterous relationship or someone they are not living with) and start pointing the finger at the guy that he is bad becuase he doesn’t want to take responsibility (because of her insecurity) when the woman needs to take responsibility that SHE is the one who causes the child to be rejected. Why should the guy take responsibility He didn’t consent to the pregnancy. I’ve been there. I tried to get pregnant by the guy I was living with because he didn’t want to marry me and I was so insecure I could not deal with the fact that he didn’t love me and (the famous words of all time) “I don’t want to be alone!”. If you have to get pregnant to “force” or manipulate someone to marry you that is not love, honey!! Thank God I didn’t get pregnant and I had enought sense that when he hit me because I wanted to get married I finally got out of it. Through the years living alone, I have confronted and overcame my insecurities and my weakness. Now I am a very strong woman, strong character/integrity because I dealt with being alone. I am pleased with the woman I am now because I know I don’t have to subject myself to the wrong relationship. I am pleased with my values/principles because now I know what love is and how I am to be loved; and if the guy doesn’t like it or is intimidated or is critical of them then he is not the right guy! God has only the best for me and now I know that and that “best” in a man God will bring because then it will be what I have longed for all of my life a long, lasting fullfilling love. That is why I had to deal with being alone and deal with my personal issues/weaknesses because when this man comes it will be worth waiting for!!!
To bad, 60 Minutes would do a much better and unbiased interview.

I think fault lies on both sides, but I’m not sure where you are getting your information on the extortion case, when everyone else is reporting that Oksana was extorting (or trying) to extort Mel.
I say we stick the original agreement Oksana tore up-she was never his wife o she doesn’t get a cent that isn’t child support-living in his home is still way fair. But she gets money because of the abuse-one time lump sum. And we put this entire thing behind us.

I would never air my dirty laundry out to the media the way she is. And of all platforms, she goes on Oprah!!! God I can’t wait for her show to go off the air. All she does is exploit people.
I believe Oprah and people from Harpo have said over and over that they do NOT pay guests. However, we all know the visiblity, sympathethic host, supportive audience, and print exposure will be priceless.

IMO this was just PR hype (and wishful thinking!)from Team Oksana, as “60 Minutes” is all about serious journalism, not fluff and tabloid sensationalism. “Oprah” makes sense, especially since she’s already done a show with Oks’ famewhore baby mama “soul mate” Rielle Hunter. There’s no way in hell I’ll watch this show, but I do look forward to reading about how Oprah handles the interview. I hope she doesn’t just buy into all the b.s. fed to her by Oks’ publicists, but has her production staff do some fact checking and digging into Oks’ “sketchy past.” And I would just LOVE it if Oprah has the guts to ask Oks this one simple question: “Why weren’t you using birth control while you were having sex with another woman’s husband?!”

Mel believes that birth control is a sin, so unless she was taking pills on the sly, it would be hard for her to have not gotten pregnant eventually. I think she did love him in the beginning, but finally just couldn’t take it anymore. There are gazillions of mean mel stories in the entertainment ind. Everyone we know has stories of his horrific temper tantrums, egomania, and downright cruelty. I agree that he was a great actor in his young days, and enjoyed those movies, but I just don’t like him. I think Oksana was stupid to get involved with him, but I hope she lands on her feet. Mel should bite the bullet and give her a decent settlement and child support and they should come to some kind of arrangement for him to see Lucia, so they can all move on with their lives, especially for all the kids involved in this ugliness.

I always enjoy reading your comments because of your “insider insight.” I have two questions for you: 1). If everyone in Hollywood knew about the real, “mean,” Mel, why didn’t Oksana? She’s lived in LA for a while and as such was privy to info the rest of us aren’t. And Mel’s temper was no secret to the public: he did, after all, bellow “I own Malibu!” during the 2006 DUI arrest. 2). What do your insider friends and acquaintances have to say about Oksana? Was she a known gold digger/high class hooker/professional mistress?

Oksana has never stopped giving interviews! After the breakup, she did a press conference in Russia promising that the truth will come out, and then she gave an interview with Hello! Magazine. When the tapes were leaked, she spoke with “The Daily Mail,” saying Mel wasn’t giving her a penny.
Oksana just hired a new legal team to jumpstart this new P.R. campaign. Her new lawyers went on “The Today Show” bringing along a private picture of Oksana and Mel about to kiss. Then in what may or may not be a coincidence, TMZ was given several love letters to Oksana from Mel. Now Oprah.
Oinky better get her lies ready to tell Oprah, she has told so many different versions of the alleged so called abuse to many papers interviews and varying authorities.
She leaked the tapes which many say experts say have been altered and the faked up pic’s.
She has never had any credibility ever and this is going to backfire on her. I can’t see Oprah and this so called interview suddenly turning people on her side, last I read up to 84% of the public say she is lying and only going for the $$.
It will be interesting to see if they really do go into her past which she has told many lies about,
Her marriages. Using men for money and to further her non existent career.
The problem with Oinky is she has NEVER since day one of this kept to the same story .
Every time she found her pals out side her gates and for the love of God couldn’t keep her trap shut.
She signed legal documents about the custody of her daughter then Broke the law to try and gain a financial advantage, saying Mel was not paying her a penny, In fact the document she signed was a great deal for her and the baby and she got plan greedy, Mel was in fact paying her $10,000 a month untill she broke the court order and lied.
I only hope and wish they have her cringing and uncomfortable asking her questions about her past and all the different stories she has told various media outlets around the globe.

oh come on people, some of u are acting as delusional as oksana is. mel may have sounded crazy on the tape but oksana was taping him, she was entirely in control the whole time, and she used that recording to get money from him. if no one can see this as a form of manipulation and abuse, then ur all just as bad as she is. no one deserves to be taken advantage of and manipulated just for the sake of money. oksana had plenty of time to go to the police with her evidence if she had really thought mel was a danger to her and the kids. she only sought a restraining order against him after she had already signed two forms which gave mel joint physical custody of the child. does anyone else here not see her for what she really is? she’s now even blaming the judges and her own lawyers for bullying/coercing her into signing the forms, so everyone else is at fault except her. she keeps claiming to be a victim of domestic violence despite the fact that her pics are fake, they show no signs of being beaten, and if mel had really wanted to hide evidence of his physical abuse towards her, why weren’t the pics of oksana’s alleged beating included in the list of the things to be destroyed? if mel was truly a physical abuser, he would beaten or tried to kill her when she threatened him with the tape. seriously, i wish some people would think a little bit more clearly instead of just coming to oksana’s defense just becoz she happens to be a woman.
@ Uzi, yes, a lot of people we know in the studios thought/think she is a golddigger; however, most of these also thought mad mel was getting what he deserved. After the tapes came out, I think there’s a little more sympathy for her, not much for him.

jane16, how typical of hollywood. they show sympathy for a child abuser like roman polanski and blame the 13 year old victim coz she supposedly wanted it, yet they demonize mel just coz he has different views. i guess celebrities won’t mind then if someone they supposedly trusted would start recording them in the privacy of their own homes doing God knows what. i bet other celebrities have done worse things than what mel did. why should oksana deserve any sympathy when she’s been caught lying so many times, and she keeps using her own children to make herself look good. when did extortion suddenly become condoned?
