My first reaction was surprise. I honestly didnt think she could ever get herself together for the recording studio. My second is horror. She really has a very electric voice that sounds good when shes focusing and not just waaing into the mic. My last and over all impression is dismay. The beat aint original, the lyrics aint touching that intimate sensual spot, and, just, sad. And not in a good way. Just sad in a bad way. Maybe the silverlining in this mess is thats just a demo?

Ditto what hatsumomo said. I am just happy Amy recorded something hopefully her next songs are alot better. The sophomore album is always hard but I know Amy can do better. I just love her voice. Amy kinda sounds like Macy Grey a little who I also love.

Boozy, nasal, short-of-breath, with bouts of belted notes and weird-ass phrasing.
In others, yeah, she was probably loaded (or loading up at the very least)…

When I see Amy Winehouse’s tattoos, I’m reminded of a middle school bathroom wall. Terrible. They just don’t look good but then again, I guess that is keeping with a theme. I hope she gets clean.

This is actually vintage Amy. I like the way she makes a perky poodle skirt song her own. I doubt that anyone would do a final cut with Amy loaded-everyone around her is heavily invested (emotionally, financially) in her sobriety. Someone would haul her a– out the studio door and tell her not to come back until she was sober.

She’s had so many near death overdoses where she was rushed to hospital unconscious…I fear she may have had some permanent brain damage and her slurred, “out-of-sync” singing is the best she can do now.
Crystal meth, crack cocaine, alcohol induced comas combined with an anorexic body…very bad for the brain cells when they don’t get enough oxygen and glucose.
So sad…she was such an amazing vocalist.

i don’t think she is trying to sound loaded and pitchy at best with no sense of time. i think she is a hot mess and this will be her from here on in. I mean look at Whitney and she didn’t ingest half the stuff this girl did. Mess.
