Denise Richards says her kids are in therapy

The doomed daughters of Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen, ages 4 and 3, are currently in therapy, according to In Touch magazine. After years of seeing their parents hate on each other, and a bitter post-divorce war of words that doesn’t seem to be letting up anytime soon, these little girls have no doubt been bearing the brunt of their parents’ inability to get along.

Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen may be involved in a messy public custody battle, but they’re trying to make sure their children, Sam, 4, and Lola, 3, stay as unaffected as possible. “My kids are in therapy,” Denise exclusively reveals to In Touch. “It’s very sad that they need to be there, but they do for now. On the other hand, it’s good they have an outlet to deal with their feelings and someone who is just their advocate.” Denise, 37, hopes her admission helps other parents. “If I can help anyone feel better about their kids being in therapy — then something else good has come of this, too,” she says. On June 19, Denise took Sam and Lola to their therapy session in LA. “Denise is doing the smart thing for her children,” an insider tells In Touch. Charlie, 42, treated the girls to a spa day in March.

I just wish Denise and Charlie weren’t able to choose which therapist these girls see, nor should they be able to find out what the girls say about them in the sessions. I can just imagine Denise leaking tapes of little Sam and Lola talking about their dad to the media. And if Charlie doesn’t want the kids vaccinated, I can’t imagine how he feels about them going to therapy. Hopefully, this therapist has the girls’ best interests at heart and helps them learn how to cope with having two nutjobs for parents. They need all the help they can get.

Denise Richards, her father and two girls are shown at “Time for Heroes celebrity carnival to benefit The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatic Aids Foundation” on 6/8/08, thanks to WENN.

If these “parents” acted like adults, the 4 and 3 year old children wouldn’t need therapy. Is any one else disgusted that two toddlers have to be in therapy because their parents are super idiots? Whatever. I am so sick of these two.

  2. ses says:

Agreed cc. I can’t handle previews for the “It’s Complicated” Denise reality show in which the camera zooms in on Lola talking about her late grandmother. “I love her.” Ugh, it gives me uncomfortable shivers that this poor kid’s a centerpiece for her mother’s fame-whoring.

Also, I don’t know why I obsess about this, but I can’t recall a photo I’ve seen of Sam where she doesn’t have a scowl on her face. I guess I’d be pissed if paps followed me wherever my mom told them I’d be, but seriously, not one crack of a smile.

  3. Carrie says:

They’re the two glummest, most miserable looking kids I’ve ever seen. Maybe it’s smile therapy they’re getting.

  4. Ron says:

With a Mother like her, they will be their entire lives.

  5. xxx says:

    Just horrible.

  6. Sylvia says:

With 2 insensitive parents no wonder they require therapy. Wouldn’t doubt she is blaiming the husband instead of both of them.

  7. Codzilla says:

ses: You’re right, Sam always looks horribly miserable. And it seems as though her younger sister is following suit. Denise is a shameless cow.

  8. devilgirl says:

The kids are in therapy? Shouldn’t the psychopath parents be in therapy instead? The kids aren’t the ones lying, cheating, name calling, stealing and running from mate to mate everyother week. Maybe the therapist will counsel them on when it is a good time to emancipate themselves!

  9. Bodhi says:

Sounds like more PR to me. She took them to one therapy session. That doesn’t sound like being in therapy to me. Not that I don’t think they need/ will need it, mind you…

  10. L says:

Why did Denise feel this was necessary information to share with the media??? “Denise, 37, hopes her admission helps other parents.” Why not just hope you can do something to help your kids and focus on that? Doesn’t she have enough personal and family matters to deal with without having to make sure she is an inspiration for parents everywhere? Oh, but then if she didn’t say something like that she wouldn’t have a good reason for exploiting her children. She’s entirely self-consumed.

those poor children are the most miserable kids ive ever seen, do they even know how to smile.. my son, having went thru divorce at age 2 was and still is a happy smiling kid. and my x and i barely got along back then.
kids can be ok with divorce as long as you keep the negative feelings for your x to yourself. Its hard but it can b done.

  12. Megan says:

I was sent to a therapist and had regular visits with the school guidance counselor when my parents divorced when I was 8. That doesn’t seem that unusual.

  13. Sad says:

She can’t blame it all on Charlie. She is 50% responsible for them being in therapy. She needs to clean up her potty mouth. I was shocked at how consistently foul her language on every one of her shows. She is no angel, that is for sure.

  14. GB says:

If she thinks they need therapy now wait until they are old enough to find out she is an ex prostitute. They will be scarred for life.

  15. Kevin says:

GB, was she really a Ho fo dough? Or were you just making a crack?

  16. Brittany says:

Denise should do what she needs to for her daughters, even if it is therapy. Let’s just support her and help her be strong. The show is actually good and she is hilarious!

  17. GB says:

It is no secret that Denise worked for Heidi Fleiss. Not a made up rumor. Everyone in WeHo knows. She was a high paid escort. That is prostitution the last time I checked. I think she never addressed the subject because she cannot deny it. Why open a can of worms you can’t control. The truth always comes out…

  18. fjeiaojfea says:

what ugly little kids… sorry, I know thats mean, but ugh… poor things

  19. Ann says:

Denise deserves a TON of credit for taking the step to get her kids help that they need. It takes courage – esp. while the world watches.

  20. poopie says:

I was thinking the same thing that these two celebuspawn are a couple of FUGLIES… and Sam and that FROWN…ugh..i’d be in therapy too if i was stuck with that Charlie Sheen ‘GLARE’..poor things

  21. The Old KC says:

Sorry, Denise, if my child(ren) were in therapy, and I read your comments, I would not feel better as you hoped. Rather, I would think to myself, “Shit – things are Jerry Springer bad if my kids are in therapy like theirs.” It’s a little like saying, Gee, I hope parents “feel better” if their kids have autism because Jenny what’s her face’s kid has autism. No, it pretty much still sucks all the way around. I know misery is supposed to love company – but Denise, we don’t want your company. Sorry.

  22. The Old KC says:

And bless their hearts – I think Denise looks great (I had no idea she was 37) and her girls are very pretty too – but they just look so sad. I’ve never seen one picture of the girls smiling. I actually thought Denise’s horrible attitude veered over into the hilarious when I’ve caught clips of her show – she made me chuckle at times – but then I remembered she was a Mom acting like that, and I stopped laughing. Not that I’m expecting Moms to be perfect – I’m a Mom to a 4-year-old son, and I still drop an f-bomb from time to time, but come on! She’s being recorded for posterity on television! I know it’s off topic, sorry.

  23. The Old KC says:

And, I just noticed I keep apologizing with “sorry” at the end of my comments. I guess while I was typing them I was thinking in the back of my mind that Denise is one of those people that just might track you down and beat your ass. So I will stand up and retract my “sorrys”. Bring it on, Denise. : )

  24. velvet elvis says:

These two are getting on my freakin nerves. Who’s going to pay for MY therapy…huh??

  25. Rebecca says:

I never ever see any pics of those kids looking happy. I wonder if it’s because they never are or because the media doesn’t publish them.

  26. samantha says:

so many commenters here have definatly seen what i do; the kids hardley EVER smile; thats sad; their kids for gods sake. they both need to be civil for the girls sake; hard as it may be; {spoken from experience} or their gonna end up screwed up.
