In the wake of Eva Longoria’s Wronged Woman Famewhore Extravaganva, Tony Parker has finally made a public statement. Tony is basically telling the world that he wasn’t blind-sided by Eva’s divorce filing:
“Eva and I have been discussing our situation privately,” he says in a statement issued by his rep. “I was aware that she would be filing for divorce in Los Angeles.”
Parker, 28, also denied a report – since retracted – that he went to court first.
“I did not file for divorce in Texas and did not hire divorce attorneys in either Texas or California,” he says. “We plan to continue to keep our discussions of this matter private.”

In addition to that, Tony told a local San Antonio TV station that “This is a difficult time right now for me and Eva… Everything else is our private life.” When asked specifically if he boned his teammate’s wife, Tony said, “Everything else is our private life. That’s my private life. I’m getting great support from teammates and coaches. Right now, I just want to concentrate 100 percent on winning basketball games with the Spurs.”
And Eva isn’t the only one in this divorce with a team of publicists – TMZ has run a few pro-Tony stories where “sources” are reiterating that Tony absolutely did NOT have sex with any woman other than his wife. Now, did he sext these ladies? Sure! Oh, and that Brent Barry dude – Tony’s teammate – is definitely filing for divorce from his sexting wife.
Actually, I think it’s smart….the less he says the better. Eva will be doing all the talking, I’m sure, and at some point (soon) everyone will want her to STFU.

I’m not sure what to think of Tony’s cheating denial but until the “strange” surfaces I suppose I’ll accept it.
As for Eva being “devastated” over divorcing a man who claims he’s never cheated, I find her “devastation” to be akin to Anna Wintour’s “devastation” who after being carried into a ballroom by her body guards spies another woman wearing the same dress and Tim Gunn sipping punch with a smirk on his face.
I like to see the positive in things and in this, Tony will find a younger child bearing age woman.
Eva will find a more age appropriate man famous enough to drag to interviews/red carpets.
This works out for them both, because Tony was never really into the Hollywood glitz and self promotion, and Eva was all about that.

Gypsy I don’t even think this is an issue, I’m sure Eva is thrilled that she doesn’t have children with him. Now there is no more connection and she can move on with her life. Frankly, I know plenty of 35 year old women who have gone on to conceive healthy children. I also know some 20 year olds who have children with issues. That is a very generalized statement. Eva isn’t sitting in a nursing home, she still has plenty of time. But who even knows if she wants kids or she just says that because everyone expects her to want them. This is about Tony and his cheating ways.

They both get a chance to choose more appropriate partners in the future.

How is “getting someone more within his age range” a win for him? My partner is 13 years older than I am and we’ve been together ten years and I’m more in love now than ever before. It gets better every day. Age is certainly not the issue in Tony and Eva’s divorce. Well, for you apparently, but in general? Not so much.

@Gypsy: have you ever been through a divorce? It’s very painful no matter what the circumstances. To have it in the public eye…..well I cant even imagine how horrible that would be. Eva’s always been a self obscessed fame ho and I admit it’s nice to see her getting hers. She and Paula Abdul are in the same bracket but Eva can’t dance.
My take on Eva Longoria is that she and her family never thought tony was good enough. I don’t see him as the type who would stray if he was being taken care of at home. Vacuous, superficial women, listen up! marriage is work! if you neglect your husband they will look for comfort elsewhere, then they’re the bad guys when they’re “caught”. please. let her go tony. my belief is that, if they don’t want you, it’s because there is someone better waiting in the wings. happy hunting. and go for a woman of substance this time.
