This is rare! It’s been a while since we’ve seen the whole family Affleck-Garner out and about. I think Ben has been filming in Oklahoma for a few months, so it seems like he flies into LA for a day and then flies back to Oklahoma for two or three weeks – such is the life of a working actor, granted, but when Jennifer Garner’s publicist is pushing the “they’re so happy and everything is great and perfect” stories about how Jennifer Garner is always flying to meet Ben on set, it does seem weird. She and the girls stay in LA while Ben flies off and does God knows what all over the place. But here are a set of photos that makes us believe that all is well with the world!
Except that’s a major stick-eye Ben is giving the photographer. He’s not happy that they’re being pap’d, at all. Meanwhile, Jennifer seems blasé about it. CB and I always disagree about this – I think Jennifer pushes images of herself and the kids day after day. I’m not saying she calls the paparazzi every time, but they sure know where to find her all the time, don’t they? Even when she breaks from her schedule, they find her. CB thinks the paparazzi just follow her around all the time, every day, and that Garner isn’t calling them, ever. To my mind, I do think that the paparazzi know that there’s a market for photos of The Dimple Parade, but the market has been flooded so why hang around and wait for them? I mean, new photos every day? What paparazzi is going to wait around every day for The Dimple Parade? There’s some agenda at play. And in these photos, Ben looks perturbed and Garner looks the same as always – not happy but not upset, either, at being photographed all the time. CB and I will never agree!
Maybe Ben is just upset that Blake Lively has already found a new boyfriend? Low blow, I know. Maybe that’s the agenda? Garner saying: “He came back TO ME, Blake.”
One last thing – I’m really liking Affleck’s hair these days. It looks good when it’s a little bit grown out.

What on earth would the paps get out of following this boring, white bread family? Yeah, the kids are cute, but so are lots of H’wood kids. Jennifer Garner is the crabbiest, blah woman in the business- I have no doubt she, or her “people” tell the paps where they’ll be, and even that’s a mystery because they NEVER do anything interesting- AND, I think it’s odd that she never meets other moms with kids while they’re out. Do these girls have no friends?!

Marjalane – Well, Garner is a regular at Violet’s soccer games, and I do see her with other moms then. How do I know? because she gets pap’d every time. And usually she flashes her ass crack.
i love this family….must be highly irritating to have your every move photographed, hell I would be crabby too…you blame them?
I can’t tell if it is suuuuuch a CHORE for Affleck to spend 10 minutes just being a family man instead of big-time director (which I think he’s better at than actor frankly) or if he’s honestly much more annoyed by the paps than she (and she NEVER seems to be).
Probably a little of both.
I like the longer hair, it softens his potato head.
To me he just looks like a concerned parent watching the paps.

If I had people taking pictures of me & my kids all the time, I’d give the paps the stink-eye too.
I’ve listened to Garners intvs and Affleck does good social work. I like what both have to say. They care about what’s going on in the world and are interesting if you listen to them talk. So I like them. Happy they are here. The kids are cute.

He’s just pissed at the paps for trying to take photos of his kids. I’d be more than grumpy.

I think it makes things a little more interesting when you and CB have different opinions so don’t worry about that Kaiser.
Affleck is looking good these days, I saw him on J Kimmel and it was good. I hope this family is happy and will stay happy, such beautiful children.
It’s got to be SUCH a downer to try and have a nice outing with your family and be followed by a pack of starving paprats. It brings attention to them and then everybody’s looking. I don’t blame him at all for being upset – no doubt the paps are yelling the children’s names to get them to look toward the camera.
Ben dose look un happy that the pap’s are taking photos of his kids who wouldn’t be kids should be off limits but he never looks happy when he with his wife ether the only time he really looks happy in a picture that he not being paid for like promoting is when he on site of whatever new movie he’s filming. Jennifer Garner loves the attention she gets just like Katie Holmes who would talk/think about her if she wasn’t photograph every day with her kids. If Jen really had a problem with it they could move to a small time were they wouldn’t be bothered by paparazzi and she could do everything she does now Jen seems like a small town girl anyway.
I really like this family, and I hope they *stay* a family!
Here’s what I don’t get- why is she carrying 2 huge bags and a kid, while he just stands there looking pissed?!
He’s grumpy because of the stupid paparazzi hounding his family on errands. Get a life. He looks gorgeous, though.
Jenna, you beat me to it. I was thinking, “Geez, Ben, could you carry one of her bags?” Her daughter is at that age where only Mommy will do (I should know — so is mine), so he can’t really carry the baby. I don’t think Ben likes the paparazzi attention at all. I think Jennifer does. And I don’t think she parades her children around, I just think she always has them with her because she’s a very hands-on mom.
Paps following you everywhere you go and it would make you angry and grumpy. Those kids are innocent to their parents fame. It is unfair to have zero privacy. I know it would drive me nuts.
In every picture in which Ben looks pissed, he’s looking at a camera. You know they’re yelling stuff to/about him and/or his family. The smile on Violet’s face while he’s holding her speaks volumes to me about his role as a dad. I think they’re fine as a family and wish them much happiness.
@Carol I agree. It’d be creepy having paps calling out your kids names and taking pictures of them. It’s only a matter of time before some sicko taps into the pap network to get closer to a celebrity couple or their kids. And then when something terrible happens people will wonder why they didn’t see it coming.
I think Ben is annoyed at the paps and has learned to be ever since the demise of Bennifer part 1. No sane parent wants their children’s privacy and innocence intruded on to that degree. Jen and Ben have given us enough to think they’re reasonably sane. It’s comical to imagine she’d call them, but I highly DOUBT that. I really do think their family is regularly followed. After seeing celebs and their families I’ve wondered how I’d react. In general, I’d wanna smack everyone and/or scream but smacking people would land me in jail/bring lawsuits and cause a pap frenzy and screaming and being obviously irritated would not only satisfy the paps but worse still, my kids would be edgy all the time -so those would all be unwise and undesirable. This may seem hard to believe, but when it comes to your kids, you’ll do a lot of things that you wouldn’t think would be natural. I’ve come to the conclusion it’d be best for my kids of celebs if their parents/nannies/grandparents (whatever) came across unperturbed and went about life as usual as much as possible (but also teach them NOT to talk to/engage paps) so as not to give their kids a complex about the paps while trying to bring some sense of normalcy to all the madness since they’ll probably be papped for a LOOONG time. Anyway, all that to say, IMO, Jennifer is the primary caregiver and she’s probably taking and used to taking this approach to the paps and that explains why she seems to be taking it all in a stride NOT because she called the paps to harass and stalk her family. Ben’s a MAN, as far as he’s concerned, he’s SUPPOSED to be all, “grrr! who’s broaching the security and normalcy of my family! grr! I am the protector! I will mark my territory with my grumpy-sourpuss face!” OR maybe he just has really bad gas….a lot.

His life use to be gambling, drinking and strippers.
There was a picture not to long ago of him and Blake Lively on the set of his movie and he looked so happy and relaxed.(I’m not saying that he’s cheating with her. And I’m not being sarcastic.)
But when he’s pictured around his family it looks strained.
I’m not hoping for a demise of a family, but this situation looks like it is living on borrowed time.
Its a known fact that Ben hates the paps taking pics of his kids….thats probably why hes so grumpy looking.
Even if he’s annoyed by the paps, can’t he at least pretend to enjoy being with his children? He’s ignoring them as always.
I think I’ve said this before – but I think it’s significant that they dress so different. When he dated JLo, he was glam. When he and this Jennifer started dating, he was super casual, like her. Now he’s wearing a blazer and button down shirt for a family outing? I think he’s tired of her, and wants someone more glamorous.
