Although I can’t name anything Brendan Fraser’s starred in the last decade, I still have love for him from Encino Man. I probably saw that movie a dozen times.
I thought I heard his marriage was in trouble. Apparently he split with his wife years ago after an alleged fling with Maria Bello and is now dating a “civilian.”
Although they are rarely in the public eye together, Brendan and Natalia Bruschi, a hairdresser at L.A.’s Fred Segal, are going strong.
“Brendan is very private about Natalia, but that doesn’t mean he’s not into her,” a pal tells Star. “He says she’s the love of his life.”
They toasted their second anniversary with romantic candlelit dinners in Manhattan — where Brendan, 42, was starring in the Broadway play Elling — during the first weekend of December.
But a trip down the aisle isn’t likely just yet. After splitting from wife of 12 years Afton Smith in 2007, the dad of three “isn’t ready to remarry, because the split was so painful,” says the source. “But Natalia knows he’s in it for the long haul with her.”

Is it too easy to go for the balding-actor-dating-a-hairdresser joke? Thought so.
According to IMDB, Brendan’s been working steadily, including several sequels to The Mummy, and a turn on Broadway.
He seems like a genuinely nice guy who isn’t into the Hollywood scene, so it’s a shame if an on-set fling broke up his marriage, but good for him for finding a stable relationship again.
Brendan Fraser is shown at the premiere of Elling on 11/21/10. He’s shown with costars Jennifer Coolidge, Denis O’Hare, and Jeremy Shamos. Credit: WENN.com
Note: this is Fraser’s Broadway co-star Jennifer Coolidge, not his new girlfriend.
And he looks like hell here because he’s in character:
Sheesh…I hope that’s not the result of her work.
ahahahaha! i loved The Mummy!
You’d never know it to look at him!
Try “Inkheart” if you want to see him in a more recent flick. It also has Paul Bettany (deep breath; and – sighhh…) as Dustfinger, my favourite character in the movie.
Does Jennifer Coolidge only have one expression? She seems to be playing the same character every time I see her on tv, on different shows. Ok, totally off topic. 🙂 Need caffeine!
Blast from the Past was good, but he and Rachel Weiz in The Mummy were classic.
What about George of The Jungle? (Or was it called “Tarzan”? No – “George of the Jungle” is right I think.) Dare I say he was a totally HOT BABE and almost naked in that flick?!
Yeah, but after George of the Jungle (with John Cleese voicing a gorilla no less) he made Dudley Doright and really left his dignity at the door.
I saw him in the city in October. I don’t care what he looks like in pictures in real life he is a fox. And nice to boot.
I saw him on “Journey to the Center of Earth”… It was’nt my favorite movie… but he made it. Also a sequel from the Looney Toons movie.
Hey is that Russell Edgington in that pic?! I love him.
“The Quiet American”, “God and Monsters”…????
The heck with that bad-piece wearin dude- MORE JCOOL!
He was great in “The Quiet American”.
I loved the first “Mummy” but the sequels were trash. Even Rachel Weitz refused to do the third one. Guess that’s when he had the fling with Bello. I did enjoy “Journey to the Center of the Earth” but then I love that story and I have copies of every film made of it, including the one with Pat Boone!!!
Too bad Fraser broke up his marriage (I didn’t know he was divorced). It makes me like him less.
Furry Vengeance less than a year ago with Brooke Shields. Silly kids’ movie, yes, but my little ones loved it.
I agree that he seems like a nice guy. Since he isn’t into the Hollywood scene or famewhoring for tabloids and the paps, a normal relationship with a regular girl is probably the best choice for him.
Ew he aged terribly. Alcohol???
did anyone see “school days”?
he was just so hot in it.
Will always love him! Googly eyes & all!
@eja: I love “School Ties”! I still kinda lust after Brandan Fraser just for that movie.
He was also really good in “Crash” which I believe won Best Picture. He’s been working quite steadily throughout his career. He makes alot of cheesey stuff, but he seems to enjoy himself.
Wow…he looked pretty rough for that play! He was such a hottie 10 years ago. It always seemed to me that he lost his hotness when he and Afton divorced. I think he was really hurting from that split.
Just use google images and put in his name and check out all the HOT pics of him. I still drool looking at them. 😉
I wish him the best.
Didn’t his play get cancelled? Anyway, Furry Vengeance was the shizzle!
Damn. Another one on my list bites the dust.
Yep, he was on my Top 10 “Free Pass” list.
*Any suggestions on who to replace him with?*
Good to hear. Maybe he can finally give his mullet back to 1984…where it belongs!
No wonder “his hair” is looking better and more natural. He needed help.
Cutey patootie, adorable in everything I’ve seen him in, even the really silly stuff.
Seems like a genuine, nice guy!
I don’t really follow him but I thought Brendan was married. I never heard of a divorce or an affair with Maria Bello.
Yikes! What the hell happened to him? He used to be sooooo HOT!
I still think he’s handsome. He’s aging better than a lot of Hollywood, other than the bad hair pieces.
OMG, I looooooove Encino Man! That movie is classic cheese!
First of all, Brendan stated unequivocally in a press release that he did NOT have a fling with Maria Bello, thus this did not break up his marriage to Afton. I choose to take him at his word, because he seems to be a decent man who doesn’t deserve to be victimized by unsubstantiated gossip that gets repeated carelessly. End of story.
Secondly, I find Brendan to be not only a wonderful and diverse actor who doesn’t get the credit he deserves, but also, an absolute delicious handsome hunk of man, regardless of age. I think the scruffy hair and stubble combined with the suit and tie are sexy, sexy, sexy!!
