In addition to the People’s Choice Awards, there was also a big event for Cover Girl. Many of the “faces” of the brand showed up, including Drew Barrymore. Drew is wearing a strapless, full-length Jil Sander gown/dress that is puzzling me. You know how Drew has been doing a lot of 1970s-inspired looks lately? I’ve actually liked most of this stuff, and the 1970s stuff actually suits Drew rather well. I think the Jil Sander probably looked kind of floaty and cute on the rack, but Drew makes it look like a big orange sack. If this thing was in black, Angelina Jolie would have bought three of them, that’s how “sack dress” it is. I have no idea what’s happening there at the bottom… is Drew wearing it upside-down?
Her makeup is funky too.
Guess who else was there? Sofia Vergara! Love her so much. Love the top, love her boobs, hate the black hose and low heels, though. It looks matronly.
And lastly – what’s going on with Kendra? She looks like hell.

These tube dresses are only meant to be worn on rexy chicks like Rachel Bilson so they can say, “Look, I even look thin a sack. In. a. sack. Eat me, normies.”
OMG-I have a dress almost exactly like Drew’s! Same color and length, but it’s terrycloth and the drawstring is under the bust. And it really is from the 70s. My mum wore it when she was pregnant with me then passed it to me when I got pregnant with my first baby.
Drew’s makeup artist needs to blend that powder in a little better, because she looks like she’s been in a bit of the old dusty showbiz, AMIRITE?

I’m not a fan of Jil Sander but this dress is nice. I love the color. People who wear her clothes like simple, uncluttered designs so I would never have picked Drew as a fan because Drew seems to prefer fussy, overdesigned stuff on the red carpet. She does look good in this dress so maybe she’ll change her image a bit.
I agree with Lainey-this sack cost someone thousands and it looks like an elementary school project. FAIL.

Jil Sander’s style has always been boxy or sacky. Since that dress is beyond sack like, it makes me want to touch it since she uses the most amazing materials.
I was surprised she went to fast-fashion but her Uniqlo stuff has been great.

I made a drawstring bag just like this when I was in 8th grade for home ec…but mine was black corduroy on the outside and red fabric in. I vote tragedy.

I love the color and I’m a fan of simplistic design. If only that band or whatever it is at the bottom didn’t exist. Shorter would also work.
I’m meh about the dress but I’m SICK of the half dark, half blonde look she’s got going with her hair. Lord, girl, pick a color.
It needs to be about four inches shorter, and the cinch also moved up about 4 inches, then it’s ok. Love the color.

I was tolerant of Drew’s dress until I saw the draw string. Then I just couldn’t stomach it anymore. But Drew, as always, looks lovely. Very talented young woman. Very attractive.

i love that saffron color (sadly i cannot wear it) but the sackiness of the dress is doing nothing for me. or for drew, either. sofia vargara is absolutely gorgeous, but i agree the hose & shoes need to go. kendra looks really rough – isn’t she only like 25? ridden hard & put away wet, as they say.
