Pete Wentz is going to have to learn a little about the valuable lesson of oversharing. Or rather, why it’s good to learn when to censor yourself/shut your trap. The father-to-be has been extra gossipy about himself lately (a fresh batch of pregnancy hormones perhaps?), sharing that he once kissed a guy, wants to take his infant on tour with Fallout Boy, and has some legendary drunk/high/crazy stories.
And if the guy wants to be open and share a lot of his life, that’s certainly up to him. But considering his wife Ashlee Simpson is about to give birth to a child that will be a combination of Wentz and Simpson DNA, it might be a good idea if Pete be a little less open about his less sane decisions in the past. Just so their kid doesn’t think sharing stories like that is common social practice.
PETE Wentz once played a scary game of Russian roulette while in a booze-and-pill stupor. “I pulled a trigger on a gun aimed at myself,” the Fall Out Boy star and hubby of Ashlee Simpson confesses in next month’s Playboy. “My friend and I did one pull each. We’d been drinking and had taken Ambien. I feel stupid even talking about it. It’s one of the reasons I’ve never owned a gun – I’m too impulsive. I’d probably get mad and shoot someone over a part in a song or something.”

If you feel stupid even talking about it… probably shouldn’t talk about it. Especially to a magazine. Though I would agree that Pete doesn’t strike me as someone who should be a gun owner. And for about a billion reasons I hope he no longer is one.
On the one hand Pete will be able to honestly talk with his kid and say, “I did a lot of stupid stuff, here’s why you shouldn’t do that stuff too.” On the other… it’s not great knowing your dad was legendarily irresponsible/sorta unstable. Though in all fairness Pete seems to have really calmed down lately. Hopefully he’ll stick with that trend. And find a better balance between sharing stuff and bottling everything up.

Is he ever going to dress like he’s past nursery school age?
Syko, Ashlee & Pete have said they share clothes. Now that she can’t fit them, who the hell knows what he’ll be wearing (almost said coming out of the closet) with next!?
i think that is the dumbest thing i ever heard of.
Anni! You OK, girl?
He’ll probably be wearing that maternity evening gown of hers.
It’s his pants that get to me. I think they must have about a 2 inch rise in them, because the belt is usually on top of his crotch. Is this stylish? someone tell me, because I just don’t know.
**mumbling and pushing off with my walker to go soak my teeth**
I know Syko, I thought the same thing. Am I getting old? Is this the ‘style’ now? 😯
I remember Robert Plant & Roger Daltrey wearing low rise jeans in the 60’s – 70’s. Is it a retro thing?
i´m hangin in there, syko.
Wow, he is hardcore – AMBIEN!
Loser, too bad he won.
Good to hear it, Anni. You just keep on doing that same thing, okay?
Can someone photoshop Pete’s head onto Mrs. Roper’s body? I’ll pay in genuine Canadopoly money
Just for the record, I work with a lot of high school and junior college students and none of them are wearing their pants like that.
“Is he ever going to dress like he’s past nursery school age?”
Probably not until he gets tall enough to fit in big-boy clothes.
Be well, Anni! 🙂
Re: Russian Roulette. The Deer Hunter v. Pissy Emo Boys Who Don’t Shut-up. Christopher Walken v. Emo Boy.
Ashlee says he’s wearing her skinny jeans while she’s pregnant.

But this is a pic from when they were dating —

Why do I get the feeling that Ash is the top in this relationship?
Twit, party of one 🙂
Just once? Keep trying, Pete.
I call b.s. on this.
Syko:”Is he ever going to dress like he’s past nursery school age? ”
ri23″Just once? Keep trying, Pete. ”
LOL -well said!
Nah don’t believe this, he’s just trying to make himself look hardcore.
I’m not a Wentz/Simpson fan by any means, but I know for a fact that taking Ambien & drinking all night is a TERRIBLE idea & can lead to really bad decisions.
Anywho, Petey really does need to exercise some self-control when he gives interviews
Remind me to load every chamber next time.
I don’t really believe him, considering he’s made stuff up/exhaggerated before. I think he’s just being dramatic/seeking attention.
Is there such a thing as an Emo dad?
I’m sure it was with his mouth and someone’s penis instead of a gun, so…
vdantev you are killing me. More than usual even.
Can you really get high off of huffing a hot glue gun? Because that’s the only way this story would be remotely credible.
(You know Wentz has a whole “accessories kit” filled with rhinestones, glitter and assorted brick-a-brack to make his clothes just *pop*!)
I agree that Petey’s just trying to toughen up his image. Epic fail, as usual.
GOD, HE IS WEARING ULTRA-MARINE MASCARA !
Tight jeans are known forlowering fertility , but apparently it didn’t work for him.
I don’t think “high” is what you get from Ambien. And frankly, if he was drinking and taking Ambien, I’m surprised he was awake enough to lift the gun, much less pull the trigger. This sounds made up–or like he dreamed it under the influence, but was so out of it that he thinks it really happened.
he was probably talking about his illness. Pete Wentz has fairly serious bipolar disorder. granted, the ways he tries to self-harm (pills, russian roulette, accidentally castrating himself by wearing pants that are too small) are kinda lame, but i betcha that where this came from. He does a lot of good work trying to raise awareness, and as a fellow sufferer, i have to give him props for that. Even if he is a toolbag.
Thats one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard. REJECT 👿
He has bipolar disorder, meaning the depression and crazyness is not completely his fault. Admittedly he shouldn’t really broadcast that he shot at himself, but even so, this article is almost making fun of his illness, and thats not cool.
hahah, a long time one or two things I wanted. Well perfectly. I need it for a project, lucky it is on the same theme as this post. Glad, great share.Visit This
These sites have a habit of ramping up the “crazy celebrity” angle while forgetting the arguably more compelling human story of someone suffering from a bipolar/borderline type illness.
I have Borderline Personality Disorder Traits and I can empathize with some of his thoughts and behaviour.
Impulsivity seems to be a problem. I have trouble self-disciplining in the moment, and because of that I have to self-discipline in other ways. I don’t have any tattoos or dangerous weapons, for the simple fact that I may (read: will almost certainly) hate the tattoo a few months later, and would probably do something stupid with a gun.
Also, he would probably have difficulty maintaining relationships if he wasn’t in a close-knit network. In truth, he probably still has many relationships that he doesn’t fully understand. Marriage and relationship break-ups are a hallmark of this spectrum of illness.
If you can’t manage yourself people get tired of you very quickly.
Anyway, let’s have some compassion for Pete. He’s not another crazy celeb. He’s a regular guy who is famous. Regular people have these problems. More people than you might realise, in fact.
