Charlie Sheen passed a urine drug test witnessed and administered by some bigwigs at Radar Online. They also sent his blood and urine to a lab for independent testing. I’m willing to buy that he hasn’t done cocaine in the four days it takes to pass out of your system, but his brain is clearly showing the long term effects of drug use, namely badmouthing the people who made him the highest paid star on television.
ABC scored an interview with Charlie that will partially air Monday on Good Morning America and in full in a one hour special on 20/20 Tuesday night. An hour with a delusional, narcissistic addict who spews nonsensical bile about how everyone is wrong except him. I can’t wait. According to Deadline, ABC is itching to promote the interview during the Oscars, but since the Academy of Motional Picture Arts & Sciences controls what airs during the Oscars they’re demanding that ABC not air promos for Charlie’s interview.
I don’t understand how this is such a “get” for ABC, since Charlie has been giving interviews and quotes to random radio hosts and websites for the past two weeks. He most recently spewed a bunch of crap on Pat O’Brien’s radio show and gave some more quotes to People magazine about how CBS has “awoken a sleeping giant.” He told O’Brien that CBS execs should have been kissing his ass since he made them rich. “I put a billion dollars in the studio’s pockets and I put half a billion dollars in Chuck’s pocket. I should of been walking in to sandwiches, massages and hand jobs.” He also promised that “things are about to get gnarly.” I haven’t heard that word in several years.
Charlie is also supposedly shopping a tell-all book about his years on the Two and a Half Men set and he expects at least $10 million for an advance. I doubt he’ll be able to craft his lunatic ravings into much more than the empty threats and mildly creative putdowns he’s managed so far. This book deal is about as much of a reality as that show on HBO he claimed was about to happen. The guy’s career is over, he’s bad news and he’s fighting against everyone except the porn star hookers he pays to hang out with him. Pretty soon the money is going to dry up and they’re going to leave too.
Update: La Seacrest just announced on the Oscars red carpet that the Today Show on NBC had an exclusive interview with Charlie Sheen, to air tomorrow. This is curious since advance details had him on ABC and Good Morning America. This makes me wonder if there was a bidding war.
Ha! And I had the audacity to think GAM and 20/20 dealt with the news. Is there anyone who WON’T pander to this drama queen??

@ #1: yep. some people are like that. funny; some people’s true nature comes out when they’re drunk, and for others, it’s the opposite. i guess it’s a function of how true to yourself you really are in life. i know someone like this. when he drinks, he’s sort of agreeable, but when he doesn’t, he’s really a mean SOB. it sounds bad, but we’re kind of hoping he kicks the bucket soon, b/c he’s just such a miserable human being and doesn’t seem to hold out much hope of figuring out how to change that.

He does sound psychotic and it’s no doubt the drugs caused it. Everyone knows he has these drug/hooker problems and here he is acting like he’s God’s gift to life in general for everybody and is the most amazingly talented and awesome person alive. He has a tv show (that he caused the cancellation of), that’s it, when was the last time he was in a movie or anything? No one is going to want to work with him after this and he lost a lot of fans. For his children’s and family’s sake I hope he cleans up his act and keeps his crazy ranting to himself. Is this how he wants his children to remember him? So what that he passed a drug test? I have a friend who is a probation officer, and you can get meth, coke and most pills out of your system within 72 hrs. There are also drinks sold at head shops you can use to flush out your system before a drug test. She sees people all the time who test clean when they know they are scheduled to see her. It is when she calls them in for a random test they get caught.
He cleaned himself up for a few days for the test. Big deal. Tonight he’ll be doing a line off some tramps ass.

Is that second still from this season? Geeze. I originally pooh-poohed the idea that his role could be played by Martin, but if that’s how he looks on camera these days, then Martin actually might look younger than his son.
That’s the part that kills me about the people who say he should be allowed to party if he’s showing up and doing his job. They aren’t paying that kind of dough to have him show up looking so much like a corpse that no amount of makeup and camera trickery can bring him back to life. Kinda detracts from the fun party animal aspect of his role.
Add to that the blurb I read about how he asked to have his shots blocked a certain way so he could lean on things, and the guy is not performing at peak capacity. I would be willing to bet that the writers have had to rework scripts or abandon ideas that would overtax Charlie’s capacity. That would explain the number of comments I’ve read from fans of the show who say all the good lines go to the other characters. Anyway, I’m pretty sure that the standard on most jobs is higher than “just showing up and doing the minimum.” Seems like it would be higher if you’re being paid in the multimillions.
I got to thinking about this “army” he mentioned, and I hope he realizes that his show skews old. If he wants his army behind him, he better schedule the storming of the Bastille so it doesn’t overlap with the early-bird special.

He told GMA he doesn’t use the word sober in his house, instead he uses the word ‘clean’. This suggests to me that he’s laying off the drugs but not the booze. I don’t blame GMA and 20/20 going for the story, it is an entertainment story. I just hope they don’t sugar coat anything to ensure he still talks to them in the future.

Does anyone remember that Charlie shaved his head just before his court appearence in Aspen. Part of his bail condition was that he stay drug free.
He knew the date of the court appearance so had time to get the drugs out of his system but if they had decided to take a hair sample he would have been toast. He knows exactly how to cheat drug tests and thinks he is playing everyone for a sucker. He doesn’t yet realize that he is the biggest sucker of all time but he will, eventually he will and then it will be far too late and I can’t say I give a damn.
I love the show and there is no way they could do it without CS! The man lives his life the way he wants to and I don’t give a damn about his shenanigans.
The producers didn’t seem so concerned when he allegedly beat his ex-wife because he’s made a ton of money for everyone…only when he trash talks his bosses do they respond. However, he should not have ranted about them the way he did.

But he obviously has a close relationship with Radar and other media outlets, it isn’t hard to imagine they would lie for him. Why the people around him didn’t break his phone, change/erase every media outlet’s phone numbers, replace it with a new one, or only let him use a walkie talkie to talk to them and only them is beyond me. CB isn’t an unapologetic, self-indulgent, petulant drug addict. CB apologized for his role in assaulting Rihanna and he’s still young and is learning from his mistakes. I saw his interview this morning on the Today Show. The look of disgust on Meredith Vieira’s face (who did not conduct the interview) says it all. Also, he thinks he is this great actor and really he isn’t. He recites lines for a character who is basicially a more tame version of who he is in real life. There is no challenge to what he does. I don’t watch the show but I can only assume that it has been successful because the writing has been good and not because what Charlie Sheen does every week is so spectacular. I hope the show isn’t renewed. We do not need to feed this ahole’s ego anymore.
