Paris Fashion Week began today (I think) and these are photos from the Armani Prive show, where the two big celebrity attendees were… CATE BLANCHETT. And Katie Holmes. We so rarely get new photos of Our Beloved Blanchett, so lets milk these two lonely photos for all they are worth. I’m assuming Cate wore Armani, and it is magnificent, as most things are on her. You’d think that red would overwhelm her, considering she’s so pale and blonde and such. But it doesn’t – it works beautifully on her. Maybe that’s just because I love her… but I seriously think she looks amazing. I want the suit. UPDATE: I added more photos of Cate.
Next: Katie Holmes. No, we don’t have access to any photos where you can see her whole outfit. I think it’s black, loose and long-sleeved. Armani did her wedding gown, if I remember correctly, so Katie has some history with the brand. Plus, she doesn’t have much else going on – she’s been in Florida, where Tom Cruise is filming Rock of Ages, and she just threw him a big birthday party. Guess she didn’t want to stick around, though. Zoom…. PARIS! I do like her hair here. Very glossy.

That lipstick isn’t red. It’s a dark coral. Being as blonde and fair as she is, at least she has the sense to know to avoid real reds because they’d make her mouth look like a gaping wound.

It seems awfully close to “A RACIAL SLUR” to make comment’s on a white woman’s COLOR! Seriously, you would be accused of racism if you said a similar comment about a woman of a dark skin color. Is it open season on WHITE PEOPLE for being TOO PALE? I am IRISH and I have IVORY SKIN…got something to say about my BEAUTIFUL SKIN COLOR THAT IS EXACTLY LIKE KATE’S ? If so “BLOW ME RACIST” I bet your life that you would never tell a JET BLACK woman to use a skin lotion to LIGHTEN HER SKIN COLOR…douchebag.

And I am amazed how quick she was able to grow her hair back out. Looks great.

I seriously want Cate’s outfit. I am naturally blonde and very pale, ghostly even, so if an outfit works on her then the color should work on me. Of course I say this knowing fully well that it could never, ever, ever look as elegant on me as it does on Cate. Sigh…

@hautie: I don’t think Posh is Katie’s bff anymore. The time they were was Katie’s time in the fashion spotlight when she eas ever so fashion forward. That’s gone and she’s back to blah Katie. I don’t think I’ve ever seen her photographed in one of Beckham’s dresses, which you’d think she would be if they were pals.

Love Cate’s outfit. She always knows exactly what works for her. Katie should lessons from Cate on how to dress your type. Katie’s fashion sense when she doesn’t have a stylist is usually atrocious.
@Geek Chic: see how she didn’t do bright red lips? That would have made her look overpowered by red, but by using a soft color -that compliments red- she makes her complexion pop
