Fame Pictures claims that these are photos of Angelina Jolie taking a “flying lesson” in Surrey, England. But… Angelina already has an American and a UK pilot’s license, as far as I know. Maybe she’s just getting lessons on a new-fangled plane? Or maybe Mr. Curly is her new lover. YES. That’s it. They’re going to rendezvous in the skies.
There are another set of photos at another agency – go here to see – where it looks like Angelina took Maddox out for a joy-ride on this plane. I don’t know if these photos are from the same day, the same outing or whatever. Is Maddox blocking his mom’s rendezvous with Mr. Curly?

But Maddox, 10, isn’t the first kid to join Jolie in the friendly skies. Shiloh, 5, went for a ride in a small aircraft last year in L.A. And In 2008, the star even flew her plane while pregnant with twins Knox and Vivienne, 3.
The actress — who received her pilot’s license in 2005 — confessed at the time that her favorite hobby was inspired by her eldest son. “Every time Mad sees a plane, he’s amazed,” Jolie has said. “If I could actually fly a plane. . . I’ll be like Superman to him.”
Maddox’s dad, Brad Pitt, 47, is currently stateside promoting his new flick Moneyball.

Here’s a question: why is Angelina still in England? Has Brad finished filming World War Z? Or does he have to go back to England to finish the production, and Angelina is just waiting for him to come back? Or is something else going on? FYI- Brad got back to London on Tuesday/Wednesday (6-9 hr time diff) & is back to shooting WWZ. If you look, you can find the helicopter pics of him leaving the house he & Angie are renting each morning. There have also been a few WWZ set pictures of him this week.

as far as taking a lesson goes…even professional golfers and tennis players still take lessons, to work on weak points, to reinforce good ones, or learn a new technique. hell, even doctors continue their educations, so why not pilots, too? maybe just a refresher?
anyway, I don’t blame any celeb for taking advantage of something like this. If I had the time and money, I’d try for a pilot’s license, too.

The article assumptions are completely silly. Angie flies planes. Has for many many years. there are many pictures of her taking her children flying with her. Brad is in London.. his family is in London. Filming continues until late September.. they will be going back to Hungary for the next leg of filming. the family has been together the entire time. When Angie filmed in Bosnia last year Brad was there. When Angie filmed SALT in NYC Brad was there. When Brad filmed Basterds in Germany.. Angie was there.

AJ seems much happier overseas than in US. Seems like it would be a good idea for them all to stay there. That way the kids won’t be bothered so much by the media. Brad said all the kids are learning French so maybe its true that they are staying there.

And yes, I do know one needs to take lessons, as my husband started taking those at one time. A) have said new lover let it “slip” that it was all about children. You may believe that, but I never did. To me, it’s spin. Image.

Anyways, to me, Brad’s behavior after the split NEVER made sense. He had never come across to me as the sharpest knife in the drawer, but he had never come across as being a vicious *ssh*le either. Somethng in that story did not compute.

The Parade interview really cemented it. Imagine reading a blind, and then a year or so later reading an interview that says virtually the same thing, leaving out the bits that the public shouldn’t know. Even Pitt’s wording, his reference to smokng weed, the insistence on being a father etc. I honestly think that Pitt was being truthful in the interview, only not about the real context. He thought he was going to be sly and got hoisted by his own petard.

She’s been taking flying lessons for years, I’m wondering if she actually made progress, or does she fly like she speaks French? As for the accent… He was being polite. You can Google it yourself. Its the Vogue where Angie is wearing a red dress and its like in the desert. Angie does fly solo and if she doesn’t so what. Most people like to have a co captain. There is no way Angie would be flying without the proper certification.

There are vids on YouTube of Depp speaking very passable French at some Music Awards 9 years ago. Marion Cotillard said more recently that he speaks very good French and when they were filming, they spoke in French all the time.
I’ve read years ago that Angelina has both the British and US pilot’s license, that the British test is harder, and not too long ago she has said, if I remember correctly, that she is studying for an instrument test.

Depp has been learning French for the past 15 years. He lives full time in France. Angie’s been learning French for the past five or six years. They don’t live full time in France. It makes a big difference.

As for pix flying solo, maybe it’s because I’m getting location oriented results, but nope, not a single shot of flying solo. I’m french and i can tell you that AJ can’t speak French AT ALL. A lot of american actors try at least to learn how to say “hello”, “so please to be here with you tonigh” and “Goodbye” when they come here. Some are good enough to answer questions in French on national television (Bradley Cooper, Jodi Foster, Sigourney Weaver, Hugh Laurie, Emma Watson…). AJ can’t say a thing – which is very weird considering the time she is supposed to spend in France each year and the fact that all of her children are learning this language. To be frank, I don’t know what to think of it…

I have dated two men with private pilot’s license. It’s not a big deal and both flew alone all the time. It’s moving up to instrument rating that requires even more hours and studying. She used to fly all the time with Maddox.

Canuck killed it! Post #67 is amazing and completely believable. It’s shocking that they didn’t hang out at TIFF. They can’t use the excuse that they didn’t have time to see each other when George and Stacey were partying until 4 AM. She has also said that when she hasn’t flown regularly in a while she always takes an instructor up with her if she has any of the kids along until she gets back in the swing of it. She does that for safety reasons. This also seems like a new plane so brigning an instructor up is also wise for that reason.
If you don’t believe she has a pilot’s license in the UK and the US then look it up. I watched the whole interview on YouTube and Angelina said she is not good in french and she didn’t think she could speak on TV. She said the children were good and the twins speak french better than English. At no point did she say I speak French. She only tried to speak because she said the ‘kids would be mad if she didn’t try’.

I think Angie is licensed on a single engine plane. This plane is a twin
engine.
Here are some guidelines you have to follow to keep your license current in the US. I know Europe is a lot harder.
1. All pilots of powered aircraft, except when exercising Sport Pilot privileges, or flying motorized gliders, must have a current medical certificate issued by certain doctors which are certified as Airman Medical Examiners. For private pilots under age 40, a Third Class certificate is good for three years. After that it’s good for two years. Most commercial pilot activities require a second class medical issued during the past 12 calendar months, and Airline Transport Pilots need a first class medical issued during the past 6 months.
2. All pilots are required to complete a Biennial Flight Review every two years. This is a flight , and oral review, with a flight instructor to confirm that the pilot is safe to exercise the privileges of his certificate. A flight check for a new license or rating gives you a new two years, and certain other check rides can also count as the Biennial Flight Review.
3. To be legal to carry any passenger, a pilot must have made three landings in the preceding 90 days.
If the flight, carrying passengers, is to be at night, the pilots is required to have made at least three landings at night, to a full stop, during the preceding 90 days.

IIRC that’s what Angie was doing when they were in the States last year or was it two years ago before she took Zahara and Shiloh with her on the plane. Time flies by and I can’t keep up. Just to put in my two cents worth….if not very bright Fergie (Duchess of York) has a helicopter pilots licence (which is way harder to get than a single engine plane accreditation) I have no problem believing Angie has her pilots licence , they really aren’t that difficult to obtain. If we all had unlimited funds and regular access to an aeroplane the sky would be in just as big a traffic jam as cities .

I don’t beleive one second that Brad is gay. Before this triangle there were the triangle Brad Pitt, Mike ‘Crazy’ Tyson and Robyn ‘Tigress’ Givens.

And back to Jolie, yes Jolie doesn’t speak fluent French, but she is a learner, she understandS more than she can speak and the few sentences I have heard her speak, she has the cutest little accent.
In any case it doesn’t matter how well or not she speaks, what’s matter is the will to learn and the processto to go through it. She is trying to learn a second language, more power to her ! She strikes me a s a curious mind who prefer spending time learning or reading books than shopping or tanning.
She at least speak it better than Madonna who has been learning it longer. Her daughter, Lola is fluent in English, French and Spanish and she speeks the three languages perfectly.
