International Hotness

Howdy, everyone. Jude here with a dose of international hotness for ya–just because Brad Pitt and Justin Timberlake shouldn’t always get all the attention.

First up is Won Bin, an award-winning Korean actor with whom I fell in love after watching one of his Korean telenovelas. You can’t beat the combination of boyish cuteness and a killer body.

Super hot half-Japanese, half-Taiwanese actor and singer Takeshi Kaneshiro stars in movies like House of Flying Daggers. He also “starred,” in CG form, in the videogame Onimusha for the PS2.

German-Egyptian Mido Hamada co-starred in The Path to 9/11 on ABC.
Yehuda Levi stars primarily in Israeli telenovelas, but you may have seen him in the film Yossi and Jagger.
And, finally, who can forget Rodrigo Santoro in Love Actually? He makes me wish I knew Portuguese and had better access to Brazilian movies.

Hope you found someone to like in here, and if you have any international hotties you want to share, please tell us all about them!

Yehudi Levi is hot. Thanks for posting up men of colour. This is awesome. I feel giddy.

  2. Celebitchy says:

Thanks to Jude for this great post. I think Mido Hamada is really hot, especially in the picture where he’s looking off to the side and smirking. Won Bin is really smoking too. The only guy I’m not into is Rodrigo Santora, but that’s just because of his hair. If he got it cut he would look perfect.

  3. Jude says:

Thanks, guys. It was so fun to share this 🙂

I’ve had a huge crush on Takeshi Kaneshiro since I was, like, 13. Which was, um, more than 10 years ago. And Yehuda Levi’s Israeli soap opera actually helped me learn Hebrew, since I was paying such close attention to the show because of him.

Celebitchy, you just made me feel so much better about liking Mido Hamada. I felt so guilty because, as I was watching that 9/11 movie–I mean, come on, a 9/11 movie, it’s supposed to be serious–all I could think was, “Wow. That guy is really good-looking. Wow. That guy is really good-looking.”

I also agree, Rodrigo Santoro could use a haircut.

  4. Celebitchy says:

I wanted to put Miko Hamada on the front page to lead into the story, but I made the image and realized there was a screaming guy in the background and since they’re probably supposed to be Al Qaeda (I am laughing as I write this since I’m up too late) I figured I should use Takeshi.

  5. Jude says:

You probably made a good choice, Celebitchy. Though for the record, they were playing Northern Alliance, so at least it wasn’t Al Qaeda or Taliban.

  6. theblemish says:

I don’t swing that way, but it’s always good to see other countries representing their exports.

  7. hui min says:

    how about wilson chen bolin?
he’s from taiwan and a rising star in japan. really hot.

  8. lelo says:

why haven’t you reported on Matt Lauer and his wife splitting?

  9. anmeiling says:

Oh, God, Takeshi Kaneshiro makes me totally weak in the knees. For more Asian eye candy, might I point you to Daniel Henney? He is a Korean-American sight to behold.

  10. Celebitchy says:

Lelo I work really hard, but I can’t cover every story.

Daniel Henney is quite popular. I have heard a lot about him, so maybe Jude was going for underappreciated hotness.

Jude it makes sense that they would use a hot guy to play Northern Alliance since they are the good guys.

  11. Susan says:

Love them all. I’m not into the Brad Pitt look, too boring!

  12. Divine Bird says:

I would like to recommend Jung Woo-sung and Joo Jin-mo for underappreciated actors. Both are Korean, both starred in “Musa the Warrior”, and both have been the subject of many a fine daydream. For serious. Also, Yu Rong-kwong is both hot AND older. 😀

And I echo the sentiments about Takeshi…he is the reason I clicked on this post to begin with. Thanks for the rest of the hottness, too!!

    😀

  13. Angelika says:

How can you forget Gael Garcia Bernal from Mexico? He’s certainly the prettiest man I’ve ever seen in my entire life.. I get a little orgasm just while THINKING of him =P

  14. Jude says:

    Oh my God.

The future Round 2 of International Hotness is going to be freakin’ hot indeed. Thanks for all the suggestions! Keep them coming!

  15. Celebitchy says:

I am not familiar with many Bollywood actors but I’m sure there are some hot ones. There are also a ton of hot European soccer players.

  16. Viv says:

Ok, I have to represent my culture here, so chew on this: Ekin Cheng. http://www.hkcuk.co.uk/people/ekincheng.htm

Feast on that girlfriends. Or not, it’s up to you. But when I was younger I used to grab my Mom’s Chinese version of US Weekly and cut his pictures out… before she read them.

  17. Jude says:

OMG. Viv. I used to do the same thing. But I was more into Aaron Kwok and Leon Lai, to be honest. And Andy Lau. And Tony Leung.

    God, I feel old.

  18. Celebitchy says:

Yes that guy is definitely hot Viv. He has this smoldering look about him.

  19. Lindsay says:

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I’ve been a HUGE Takeshi Kaneshiro fan for a few years now, and House of Flying Daggers is my favorite movie. I’m so glad that there are other people who appreciate his hotness!

  20. Lindsay says:

Oh, and I heard that Rodrigo Santoro is joining Lost. Is it true?

  21. Viv says:

    K, I love smoldery guys! 😉

Jude, that’s too funny. I always felt sheepish cutting up my magazine but how else was I supposed to do my Ekin Collage Poster? (Do you guys remember having to do stuff like that for school? What was the point anyway, hand-eye coordination?)

And I love Aaron and Leon! When I went on a trip to Hong Kong (10 years ago, damn I feel geriatric) I remember going to little gumball machines and feeding them my coins for little trading cards of them. I felt kind of fobby but I couldn’t help myself. =]

I can’t wait for you to post International Hotness II! I would loove to broaden my horizons. 😉

  22. Jude says:

Viv. You are cracking me up and giving me so many flashbacks.

I didn’t just cut up the magazines, but I would also cut out pictures from the entertainment sections of my parents’ Chinese newspapers–actually, I think those entertainment sections were very helpful in making me learn to read Chinese.

I did the gumball machine thing in Taiwan, too (God, right about the same time as you), and I also used to buy all those postcards and little pictures of Aaron and Leon and other ones whose names I don’t remember now.

I haven’t thought about that stuff in so long!

  23. Suz says:

Won Bin is smoking hot…what an absolute doll.

  24. sherz says:

    i love yehuda levi
    he’s hot..
    i heart takeshi kaneshiro
    he’s cool..
    and…
