Here’s my favorite German celebrity, Heidi Klum, 38, in a silver cutout Giles Deacon dress paired with Nicholas Kirkwood python slingbacks. Just glancing at the thumbnails, I thought we were seeing Heidi’s bra through her dress. What we’re seeing is a blue lace bodysuit that’s not a feature of the dress. It’s bizarre, and while the dress is striking with that delicate pattern on silver, there’s too much going on with the lace underneath paired with those busy cutouts. The dress would look cleaner with a solid color under it to highlight the design.
I like the dress in theory and find it kind of amazing, but with those shoes and Heidi’s messy hair and grungy makeup it just doesn’t work. All she had to do was go easy on the eyeliner underneath her eyes and wear a simple black slip. She pushed the envelope though, and this time it just didn’t work.
In contrast, Jennifer Morrison really rocked that billowy Temperley London dress with gold Fendi peep toe heels. I might not like this dress with different styling, but her hair, makeup and those shoes are perfect. Red Carpet Fashion Awards, where we get a lot of our fashion IDs, points out that the runway version of this dress has cut out shoulders. (Have you been watching “Once Upon a Time” on ABC with Morrison and Ginnifer Goodwin? It’s cheesy but I really love it.)
Also in white we have Vanessa Minnillo looking a mess with a Snookie poof and a tight little dress with nude suede heels. I don’t mind messy waves in hair when it looks soft and tousled, but this bedhead wave look has got to go. Minnillo is trying too hard here.
Jane Levy and Cheryl Hines are both on Suburgatory, that new ABC sitcom also co-starring Jeremy Sisto. I watched the pilot and just found it hard to get into. Anyway Jane is cute in this strapless off white lace number, but those shoes have got to go. Cheryl looks ridiculous in that pale peach dress with the asymmetric hemline. Her hair is so bad too.
And I’m going to end with Alanis Morrissette in a black mullet dress with her husband, Soul Eye. These two are adorable together! I’m not a fan of that dress as it it has a bizarre cut and fit, but her shoes are gorgeous and I want them so much. I really like her makeup, but I can’t decide if I like her hair like that or not.

Heidi DOES look awful. dress, hair, face. for the hair, thinking she should have gone for either straight or pulled back. it’s too many “patterns” with her poodle perm look and the dress cut-outs. also what is up with her face ?? is she just not aging well ? in any case, she looks less and less fresh and more “busted”.
I didn’t even notice the dress (and crappy shoes) last night, because I was too focused on her weathered face and ragged hair. And she couldn’t possibly wear navy or silver shoes, because that would be too “matchy-matchy”. So she goes with the black, which looks “stupid-stupid”.
Why do people like Heidi Klum, Cheryl Hines and Jennifer Morrison even get invites to the Music awards? They don’t sing, so what makes them relevent to this occasion?
I know- it’s even odder when they show up at country music awards. Reese Witherspoon is always there! I guess any facetime is good facetime.
My guess for the reason why would be Heidi was there is because she married to Seal now for the other two people you named no clue on why they were there.
did Heidi have stars added to her tattoo? 4 stars for her 4 kids? Those weren’t there before were they?
I really dislike the huge platform shoe trend that seems to be here to stay. Honestly, they are usually ridiculous and make the shoes look far to heavy and Frankensteinesque for the small person wearing them. A small platform can look nice, but now they’ve just become so silly looking. Anyway, Vanessa’s shoes are a good example.
Cheryl’s pink dress might be a good look for a young flower-girl in a wedding, total fail on a grown woman at any event.
It always amazes me how great street candids of Heidi Klum look, and how ghastly she usually looks on a red carpet! Again- less is more! I was slow to get into suburgatory, but now I really like it. Cheryl Hines is hilarious, and Jane Levy could be Emma Stone’s twin. Good show.
That’s funny – I was thinking the opposite. Her legs really rock here, and the last street photo I saw of her she had cankles.

Alanis Morrissette’s shoes don’t fit and her little toes are trying to escape. I would never wear shoes that fit like that. It would drive me crazy.
Oh, and I second “Boycot horses hooves platform shoes.” What do we have to do to bring back kitten heels?
I’m a Heidi fan but that dress looks like something off of a 3-D printer, does NOT do her any favors!
I really dislike those messy fishtail braids, so I’m going to say ‘no’ to Alanis’s hair. I think Jennifer Morrison really nailed it out of all of them.
I like Jennifers dress, but not her hair. I like Vanessas dress to. I don’t like these platform shoes though, makes the women look almost pigeon toed when they are just standing there getting their pictures taken.
