Here are some photos of the cast of Mad Men yesterday at Paleyfest in LA. Paleyfest is just for TV shows to go and promote and premiere their new episodes or seasons, and it usually includes a round-table discussion and personal interviews. It’s a big press event, basically. Unfortunately, neither Elisabeth Moss nor Christina Hendricks were there. Fortunately, Jon Hamm was there. As was January Jones (with “pink” hair), Vincent Kartheiser (Pete Campbell), Aaron Staton (Ken Cosgrove), Jon Slattery (Roger Sterling) and Kiernan Shipka (Sally Draper). They all look so different with their 21st century hair, right? I think I’m the only one who loves Vincent Kartheiser, but that boy should ALWAYS have his hair slicked back.
Over the weekend, I decided to begin my preparations for the premiere of the fifth season of Mad Men. We have ELEVEN DAYS LEFT!!!!!!!!!! March 25th, y’all. I can’t wait. Anyway, my preparation included re-watching the fourth season, which I haven’t seen in more than a year. After a year, I had forgotten some of the plot lines, so I enjoyed catching up. But even more than that, I just enjoyed watching the show so, so much. The fourth season was really awesome. I like that they’ve produced four seasons with coherence, allowing the characters to grow and develop without everything devolving into a complete soap opera (like Downton Abbey, which I also love, for different reasons). Matthew Weiner has retained so much of the drama and emotion throughout all of the seasons, and when there is a rare emotional payoff, it packs a major punch. GAH! I can’t wait for this.
Basically, this was just an ad for the new season. I’m not getting paid by AMC or anything. I just can’t wait. These photos made me squeal.

I’ve been doing the same Kaiser! Except I rewatched all of the seasons (…I had long flights down to New Zealand and back…). I can’t wait for the premiere!!!
It seems very childish of January to have pink hair during a time that she’s promoting her show about the stylized 60s – it just feels wrong. She is no longer 13, although I feel she acts like it sometimes…or atleast Betty does.
“Campbell”‘s hair is awful, and Roger’s shirt is hurting my eyes. Sally is so cute (and yes, I know these aren’t their real names, but its so much easier that way)
She’s can’t very well live in costume.
I love it! Unfortunately I kind of hate her acting, but she’s SO pretty. And the hair just enhances her beauty.

God I love that dress that Miss J is wearing. I don’t know if it is from the sixties but I do think that the sixties fashions were just the best. I grew up with the ugly 70’s and even uglier 80’s fashion. I don’t care about the pink hair, I think its fun. I am so looking forward to March 25th, I can’t wait to see what is going on with everyone, and Sally should be entering her teen years and hating Betty even more.

I finally saw January Jones on film and she can’t act her way out of a makeup chair. Watched her in X MEN and UNKNOWN and she is beyond horrible. She’s pretty enough but not a knockout so I don’t get how she’s managed to have the career she’s got.
Rachel McAdams had the pink hair a few years ago and did it much better.
ITA her acting is non existant! She is NOT that pretty. I think her “career” can be chaulked up to her work on her knees (wink wink) Any woman who has no problems sleeping with married men has no respect from me!
Yeah, that’s why she’s only good in Mad Men, because she’s not acting.

I’ve heard everyone talk about this show so I finally broke down and watched an episode on Netflix. I am bound and determined to finish all four seasons before the new season premier’s on the 25th. I love this show!
For someone so pretty, she seems to go out of her way to look bad.
All Hail the Hamm!! Excited for season of Mad Men! The pink strip in January’s hair looks stupid but her dress is gorgeous.
I think what was more striking was the utter lack of baby weight on her. She looked great.
They all wear their 60’s office wear on the show so naturally, so seeing the bulk of the male cast in tennis shoes was a little jarring!
Dumb. It’s so “avril lavigne and rachel mcadams-ish” from a decade ago.
