I feel slightly ashamed at admitting this, but I didn’t even realize Marley Shelton was pregnant (or married either) even though I’m a fairly dedicated fan of her acting and many of her movies as well. She proved herself to be an underrated presence in the opening scene of Sin City and managed to be effectively creepy while playing sketchy Chris Hemsworth’s wife in A Perfect Getaway. Beyond Hollywood though, Marley is married to producer Beau Flynn, and now they are parents to their second child. What’s even cooler than Marley giving birth is that she’s given a great name — Ruby — to her baby. I love that name! It’s old-fashioned but unusual enough to seem fresh and modern at the same time, and it’s not weird like a lot of celebrity names (all apologies to Jessica Simpson). Like I tweeted yesterday, most celebrities pick either completely quirky names or default to Ava or Jackson with no middle ground. But Ruby is a perfect name, and here’s the details from Us Weekly:
The girls are taking over!
Decoding Annie Parker actress Marley Shelton and her husband, producer Beau Flynn, have welcomed their second daughter, her rep confirms to Us Weekly.
Born on Tuesday, Ruby joins big sister West, 2 1/2.
Confirming their pregnancy in November 2011, Shelton and Flynn, who produced Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, married in 2001.

So how about these photos of Marley in February at the premiere of Journey 2: The Mysterious Island? She looked the very definition of “glowing pregnant lady,” and the dress is very, very pretty for a maternity style. When I was pregnant, I wore a lot of dresses (with leggings) but certainly nothing as cute as this. Congratulations to Marley and Beau on their new arrival!

Didn’t she have a DUI recently or something..mhm.. Well, congrats! I like the name Ruby!
I never realized (until that top picture) that she’s sportin a five-head, and I’ve seen most of her movies, she’s still pretty though. Anyway, congrats to them.
I have a golden retriever named Ruby; Does that count? She’s blond, she’s pretty, and she loves it when I sing the Kenny Roger’s Ruby song to her…..guess I need more coffee.
She reminds me of Heather Graham…
My daughter is also Ruby, it’s a beautiful name.
I always get her, heather graham and Jamie king mixed up. They all were c listers around the same time.
We just hired a girl at work named Flynn, and I love that name. I really like the name Ruby also. Marley looks an awful lot like Heather Graham.
Now THATS a truly pregnant woman~no pillow there! Look at her posture, it is a dead give away & intantly identifiable to any woman who has actually carried a baby to full term~
Love the old school name.
Marley looks great in these pictures. I love the whole look; the length and color of the dress and the accessories, and the color of her nails are all beautiful on her.
I’ve liked Marley Shelton ever since I saw her in “Sugar & Spice”, so I am very happy for her and her family. I also think the names of their daughters are great. They have a throw-back feel without sounding antiquated. Antiquated names have been pretty hot in Hollywood for the past few years, so the names Ruby and West are a breath of fresh air.
I have always liked her and I love that name! So pretty and unique. Also, in the second to last pic she looks like a queen surveying her subjects lol.
Lovely name, *much* better than JSimpleton’s choice of baby names.
Congrats to the family :).
In Australia Ruby is a very common girls name, it seems over here we have been going through a blast of old fashioned names (my son is Joseph but it’s a family name). Lovely name & Marley is a gorgeous pregnant lady.
