Stacy Keibler was at yesterday’s Revlon Walk-Run event in LA. Other celebrities included in the event: Halle Berry, Mario Lopez, Matthew Morrison and Matt Bomer. Stacy not only participated in the event – she was invited onto the dais and she ended up standing right beside (and embracing) Halle Berry, the hostess of the event. Does Stacy’s inclusion mean that she’s “arrived”? Ugh. I don’t want to answer that question, because I would be forced to admit that Stacy seems to be becoming more and more of a “B-list celebrity” in her own right. Like, when George dumps her, I’m starting to get the feeling that Stacy won’t be completely Sarah Larson’d – Stacy won’t crawl into some dark cave, never to be heard from again. I feel like she’s aiming for a post-Clooney C-list celebrity status in which she manages to find constant “work” on budget red carpets, as a model for cheap products, and the occasional reality show gig.
Anyway, you know how Stacy was George’s “date” at the big LA fundraiser for Pres. Obama last Thursday? It must be so because Stacy’s publicist managed to get an item into Us Weekly about how Stacy and George were kissing in front of POTUS and junk. Well, Stacy is now authorized to speak about what happened at after the event. Basically, George let his girl off the leash long enough for her to name-drop not only HIS name but the president’s.
That’s one impressive starting lineup! The morning after his $40,000-a-plate fundraiser for President Barack Obama–which he hosted at his L.A. home–George Clooney hit the basketball court with the leader of the free world.
The Ides of March star’s girlfriend Stacy Keibler opened up to Us Weekly Saturday at the 19th Annual EIF Revlon Run/Walk For Women about what it was like watching Clooney shoot hoops with the president.
“I got to watch them play basketball,” Keibler, 32, told Us. “It was something I’ll never forget.”
Adding that she “was a cheerleader on the side,” the actress says she lucked out and ended up not having to choose who to root for.
Explained Keibler, “George and Obama were on the same team, so they both [won] . . .It made it easy!”
Clooney’s Thursday fundraiser is said to have raked in an estimated $15 million for Obama, who made headlines this week with his public support for the legalization of gay marriage.
“We raised a lot of money because everybody loves George,” the Commander-in-Chief, 50, told the crowd of his actor pal. “They like me, they love him. And rightfully so.”

Yes, Stacy described herself as a cheerleader. She actually was a cheerleader years ago, before she was a lady wrestler and professional girlfriend. Now, I don’t mind that Clooney and Pres. Obama are bros and they played a game of basketball at Clooney’s mansion. That is… acceptable. What I can’t accept is that Stacy was there too, “cheerleading,” and that she was authorized to speak about it. That’s embarrassing… for Clooney AND for Obama.

I’m really offended that this ex wrestler gets to be a star because she’s bearding Clooney. or doing whatever to Clooney. bleh.

But what I like about her, is that she is neither victim, nor passive about her role: Many men, and women, have gone through the casting couch to get roles, making them even lesser than escorts, and Stacey is using her paid-for-relationship to equally get a career boost.

Is anybody else really weirded out that the president is hanging out with celebrities? It feels like all the rich people in the country are joining together to form a new elite, where politicians use their power to become millionaires and use their money to further secure power. Where celebrities can become politicians because they’re popular and interesting. Where we turn politicians into celebrities and are interested in…their sex lives? I love Obama, but he needs to stick to running the country. It’s all very WTF to me. Or maybe I’m just being paranoid.
He isn’t hanging out any more than anyone else. It was a dinner to raise funds for his re-election. There was one here where I live for him put on by one of the most powerful attorneys in town and attended by those who contributed so much to come, like other powerful figures in town or sports athletes. It’s done by both sides to raise money for their campaign. It’s the nature of the beast, running for a high office. What does it matter if it’s wealthy celebrities paying for entry to one of these fundraisers for him or wealthy people like where I live attending?
It was exciting when Obama came here, though. Air Force One landing and watching him disembark and having him rush to two other gatherings with the common man before the huge fundraiser put on by the attorney, with all the Secret Service detail around the home) and then rushing back to the airplane to take off. It seemed exhausting to me, not like he’s having fun. He’s following rigid timelines with all of this stuff.
It’s election season, and you do what you can to get coverage AND donations.

Stacy is making the most of her career (contract) opportunities. After George she will blend back into the woodwork and get added to the obituary list of GC’s girlfriends. George did not take her to the Met Gala, so she had to settle for flying out to NY to attend the after-party because without George she couldn’t get into the main event on her own. Her status is directly linked to whether she is attending with George.
I was more surprised by the short list of celebrities at George’s dinner than I was that Stacy was there. It’s odd that there were so few photos taken at the event, and yet the few that were taken included Stacy and/or the women who won tickets to the event. It’s like the photos were taken specifically to document these women were there. If they were releasing photos of the event, why not include more of the other 150 guests invited? Why even release any photos of the private event?
