Sometimes when I’m just covering photos from a premiere, I have to stop myself from going for the knee-jerk “this is what [random actress] wore”. This is one of the occasions. Although I could (and will!) discuss Rachel Weisz’s appearances at the Deauville Film Festival to promote The Bourne Legacy, let’s take a rare moment to start with Jeremy Renner, shall we? Now, I unapologetically adore Jeremy Renner. I flat-out LOVE him, if truth be told. He’s a talented actor, he gives a great interview, he’s delightfully weird, and now I know… he fancies himself a Fashion Boy. How else to explain this outfit at The Bourne Legacy photo call? Shiny pants? Check. Two-tone suede shoes? Check. A waiter’s too-stiff shirt (with the cuffs rolled up)? Check. A KICK-ASS VEST? CHECK. WTF is this vest? It’s ridiculous and beautiful and hilarious and it just makes me happy. The vest has the kind of giant, gaudy buttons that would make Duchess Kate squeal with joy. The vest is super-fancy… too fancy for Renner. Jeremy Renner IS Vesty McButtons.
As for Rachel Weisz… OMG HER FACE. I love her face so much. So much that I basically don’t care what she wears, although I do think she could do much better than these two dresses. The orange Sonia Rykiel dress (for the photo call) is kind of unflattering over all – not the best design, not the best color. The white Nina Ricci (for the Deauville premiere) is too bridal for my taste, plus I’m just not a big fan of tiers. I’ve seen her look so much better, basically.

I don’t usually get into the whole “bump watch” thing…but there’s no way a woman with a figure like Rachel’s would wear unflattering, billowing sacks to premieres unless she’s covering something up.

I was going to say that I think she’s been messing with her face (injections, etc.), but maybe it’s first term weight gain? Gawd I hope so. I’d hate to see her ruin her perfectly beautiful face with Botox.

Tragic vest but OMG that azz! I agree with what you said, minus the part about him fancying himself as a Fashion Boy – I get the feeling he doesn’t really care about playing this whole fashion game, so he just wears what they will have him wear.
That, or it hurts me to think he would have chosen that outfit himself.

That vest (waistcoat, over here) is Vivienne Westwood – you can tell by the subtle, ahem, logo on the equally subtle buttons. And I normally like Westwood….

The car is gorgeous. He had a Porsche a few weeks ago. He’s spending that Avengers/Bourne money on some nice toys.
I was reading intently until I got to the photo of the car, then I kind of got distracted. I don’t know who I find more attractive, Renner or the Maserati – both in the same shot is a fairly powerful amount of yum.

Look I know the vest comment is a joke but really, are we still that small minded that we are stereotyping clothes? If they are step-siblings there’s no actual relation so the similarity of noses is just a coincidence. Am I alone in liking the vest? For me, reasonably thin guy in a white shirt and black vest= hot. The white dress was not that bad; not the best but not terrible. They both looked great though; happy too.
This is the worst I’ve seen her look in a long time. That orange dress looks like a K-Mart special and the white one isn’t flattering either. Even her face and hair look below par. She’s looked a lot better in jeans and boots at a farmers market.

I love her. She’s gorgeous. The shape of the orange dress is just bad, cheap-looking. I saw a photo of Jennifer Connelly, who to me battles with an eating disorder (sometimes puts on a few pounds and looks great but next movie she’s gaunt looking), and the difference between the two dark-haired, fortiesh beauties is striking. Jennifer’s face is so gaunt and it makes her look just draggy and tired. (Remember He’s Just Not that Into You? She looked tired in the face because she’s too thin). Whereas, Rachel looks beautiful and fresh in her face because she isn’t an unhealthy weight.

I keep wanting to order 2 cappuccino from him with that vest on. I think he’s 100% attitude, 0% looks. To me he just has this odd putty face, that isn’t attractive. But attitude can be a enough, and he is a good actor that comes off as being supremely cool.
Rachel is so beautiful that I never really notice what she wears, it just doesn’t even matter. She’s so intensely lovely, and a smart, wonderful actress. I hope she’s around for a good long time.

Seeing the pictures of the two of them together makes me remember that time when Jeremy and Rachel were shooting the Bourne Legacy in the Philippines early this year and the actors stayed in a five star hotel here in Manila. My brother who had a meeting in the same hotel saw them making out in the lounge/restaurant area which is also open to hotel guests so it is kind of a public place. He thought they were shooting a film but he saw no cameras, directors and crews around. Just the two of them cozying up together in a foreign place who taught no one would recognize them. Her husband Daniel Craig visited her only once during the filming. So I think many if not everybody in HW cheats on their partners while doing a movie especially the out of town/country filming.

I LOVED him in the Bourne Legacy. In still photos, I find him meh. But in motion – yum.
