Considering that this is now an epidemic in the US and it’s parents who are setting up the eating patterns at home it’s not such a bad thing. With obesity comes heart disease, diabetes, joint injuries, increase risk of stroke. It’s not mean though it may seem that way. I had heard that they are trying to pass legislation that would make it possible to charge parents of obese kids with neglect. It’s a serious, serious issue. Just read in a newspaper today that a high school student collapsed after running a sprint in school phys. ed……he was obese.

Of course it’s a serious issue, but do you think singling out children for more ridicule is the right way to do it? It’s not a simple issue of blaming the parents, it’s a cultural problem.
