Here are some photos from last night’s New York premiere of The Croods, which is an animated film with voice acting from Emma Stone, Nicolas Cage and Ryan Reynolds. Surprisingly, Ryan Reynolds brought his wife Blake Lively to the premiere. Not surprisingly, they didn’t walk the red carpet together, but Ryan did pose with Emma and with a woman I’m pretty sure is Blake’s sister. Odd. Instead of making this all about Ryan (he’s super-boring), let’s talk about fashion!
Emma wore this black and white Lanvin which… puzzles me. The fabric choices puzzle me. The design puzzles me. This choice for a red carpet to support an animated film puzzles me. Something nice: she doesn’t have her bits and pieces hanging out, which is good. She opted for something “cutesy” yet high-fashion, which is appropriate for the occasion. The problem is that this dress is an utter design disaster. It looks like something Katie Holmes would design. And that’s not a compliment.
Speaking of bits and pieces hanging out, Blake wore Marios Schwab. I mean… yes, this is conservative for Blake. And while it’s a mini and her legs are SO CRAZY, it’s not like her ass is hanging out, so I guess that’s a good thing. It still feels kind of upstagey and “check out my killer legs and my insane PVC boobs!!!” Seriously, what kind of odd PVC cutout is that? Weird. Also weird: those strange gold rivets or buttons or studs along the side? What the hell? Did Duchess Kate design this?
So, which look do you prefer? I’m going with neither.

Just to stay on the top of the comments because that’s hilarious. Remember a few weeks ago that Star claimed Blake and Ryan were having problems because he’s dragging her to camping sites too often and she hates it?
Well in the interview Ryan and Emma did for Today the subject somewhat changed to camping and Ryan said he hasn’t camped since he was in 10th grade. LOL at Star who has a great streak with them, as they said they were having relationship issues because Blake wanted to get married and Ryan was absolutely against the idea of getting married again and then two weeks later they’re married. Gotta love those tabloids failures 😛

Isn’t Blake and Emma close to the same age but Blake looks years older. Emma is very attractive but the girl could use a sandwich or two.
I still find Ryan kinda hot even though ScarJo said once she got over his good looks, she grew tired of the 5 minute sex in the missionary position. I think I still might take those 5 minutes at least once.

V4, I don’t know about Scarlett, but Alanis was quite verbose on every subject and I never got the impression he was somehow lacking in that department. 😉
Perhaps what is satisfying for one woman is not satisfying for the next. But note I did say if 5 minutes is all he could muster up I’ll take it.
Blake’s dress is so ugly. Boob plate is bad, but so is the random white lining peaking out of the bottom and her elbows. I don’t like the white shoes with it either. Boob plate and white trim don’t go together at all, they have different vibes.
I think Blake is way overrated in all areas: her face is less than average, her acting is horrible, and her fake tatas looked hard and crooked in her cellphone selfies.

Blake Lively’s wouldn’t be that bad if that horrible plastic boob-plate wasn’t there. From the side and back it’s a nice dress, and for once it’s not shrink-wrapped onto her (admittedly fab) body.
As for Emma Stone…sigh. What a hot mess of a dress. I guess Blake wins by default.

IMO she is really calculated and her image is just as constructed as the rest of them, she is smarter than the average starlet though and I side-eye anyone who is friends with Swifty.
Yep, Emma seemed genuine but, at least, she admitted wanting it badly though.
On a side note, Emma has lost a lot of weight. I wonder if that has to do with Andrew being so tiny. She probably felt like a giant standing next to him.

I’m ready for the insane platform trend to be done in general. I have seen some heels without platforms and with a more reasonable heel for spring, so hopefully it’s on its way out!
I’m not fan of white, nude or platform heels. That’s the only thing I don’t like about Emma’s outfit. She had a great pink coat. Too bad no pictures of that here. Blake’s white heels look like they have some sort of texture to them and they do go with the dress, so not as bad as they could’ve been.

I don’t often say this, but Blake Lively wins hands down. Mostly because she looks happier and chirpier than Emma, who I’m starting to think may have tweaked her face a bit. Although it could just be a really bad make-up job.

Neither dress would land the wearer on a “best-dressed” award, but at least Blake’s is a flattering color. Emma has looked so washed-out to me since she bleached her hair again, and the black isn’t helping.

i know this site really doesn’t like blake lively, but i was reading a great thread on reddit about best/worst celebrity encounters and someone who met her said she was a total sweetheart. apparently they were at some fashion show and they went up to her, emma stone and some other celeb and emma stone quickly said hi but blake chatted with them for a while complimenting their outfits, etc. i mean i know the internet lies (lol) so this could be totally made up, but i’ve never thought of her as being a jerk. she seems pretty down to earth. but her dress is awful.
She’s sweet. Calculating, fame hungry…she could be those things too but she is a nice person. At the height of Gossip Girl fame, I saw her at a coffee shop in the Village and she looked like absolute hell. When I walked out after her, she was surrounded by about a dozen teens with their phones out. She was such a sport, putting on a huge smile and takings photos with all of them even though she was barely recognizable, seemed exhausted and hadn’t even had her coffee yet!
I’m sure everyone has their off days, but Blake does seem unusually kind and real. I like Emma too, though. She seems very funny and down-to-earth in her interviews.

Agreed! Loved him in Buried! I think he’s underrated, if he pimped himself through PR tricks like many other actors do, everyone would be all over him. He chose to keep his life private and Blake wants to do the same, I like them together and I loved they didn’t pose together, so the attention was actually on the movie and not on them. Well done!

I loved him in that rom-com as a divorced father with Abigal as his daughter, and he was telling her the story of falling in love with her mom. He was adorable in that movie. I loved Isla Fisher, too.

Loved Ryan in Buried! Definitely underrated. Maybe I will check out Definitely, Maybe now. Blake looks fantastic here and I don’t mind the faux tortoise shell bust insert. The dress fits perfectly and Blake has great legs that should be shown off.

I might be the only one, but I really really like the combination of Emma’s dress, make-up and jewelry. I think it’s relaxed but fashionable at the same time. I just don’t understand the extra-fabric around it…
As for “what the hell” is Blake Lively dressing, I guess at least she could have added some inches to it…it’s a children’s movie premiere, the PVC boobs are enough.

There’s some cruel comments on here about Emma’s weight loss. It’s so easy to put it down to an eating disorder because she’s a Hollywood actress. There could be many reasons why she’s lost weight.
My first thought was stress due to her mother’s long and ongoing battle with a rare type of breast cancer. She appears to be very close to her Mom.

I can’t speak for the industry, but superhero flicks aren’t normally considered showcases for actors or the definitive word on their talent, or lack thereof. George Clooney’s Batman comes to mind.

I rather like Emma’s dress but she looks tweeked. I hope it’s just makeup. It might be the weight loss and I hope in some sense it’s due to stress from her mother’s ilness and not due to pressure to be even smaller than she was before (which was tiny as it was). All the best to her, found her very funny in Easy A.
