Woody Harrelson lives a peaceful life on the Island of Maui in Hawaii with his partner, Laura Louie, and their three daughters, Deni, 15, Zoe, 12, and Makani, two and a half. After nearly 20 years together Louie and Harrelson decided to make it official by marrying on Sunday in a small outdoor ceremony near their home attended by friends and family:
The couple, who have been together for 20 years, tied the knot in front of a small group of family and friends, including actor Owen Wilson, Willie Nelson and Sean Penn. Alanis Morissette sang at the ceremony.
Harrelson’s rep tells Us, “Woody Harrelson and Laura Louie were officially married yesterday on the island of Maui. The ceremony was attended by family and friends. The couple have been together 20 years and are the proud parents of three daughters.”
The private wedding took place near Harrelson’s home in Kipahulu, Maui around 4.30 p.m. local time. An hour later a large cheer could be heard by nearby hikers.
Before the wedding, there was a Hawaiian chant and blessing by the Hawaiian minister. Louie, 43, wore a white wedding dress, while 47-year-old Harrelson wore cream-colored slacks and an aloha print short-sleeved shirt.
Harrelson fell in love with Louie in 1987 after meeting her on the set of Cheers.

It sounds like a beautiful and meaningful ceremony and one that wasn’t entered into lightly considering how long they’ve been together. I wonder what motivated them to get married after all this time. My husband and I were married at the end of the year too, and we were able to take advantage of tax benefits for the entire year that we otherwise wouldn’t have had if we waited a few weeks more. It sounds unromantic but it did save us thousands of dollars that we were definitely able to use as a newly married couple. Congratulations to Harrelson and Louie!

I think it is nice to see that Woody has a healthy relationship. Just because she is not your typical “Hollywood” look does not give you the right to insult her like that. Obviously she has qualities that he loves and has loved for 20 years. That’s almost three times longer than all of Jennifer Lopez’s marriages combined. I think he is clearly doing something right here and maybe others should focus on being happy rather than being vain.
Nikki, there’s a quaint Earth custom you may have heard of, we call it ‘humor’. I thought the same thing when I saw the picture. It’s not a great joke or a good joke, but it’s a joke.
I’m not saying she has to be beautiful, but she looks like she hasn’t had a bath in weeks or run a comb through her hair in ages. Good grooming and personal hygiene are not reserved for Hollywood.
I wonder if one of their kids were asking questions or something. Sting finally married Trudie Styler after one of their kids asked if they were a “bastard.”
Everyone’s jumping on Laura’s looks – has anyone taken a good hard look at Woody? Never all that great to begin with, now balding and grizzled.

I’m sure she is natural and I’m sure she has some times when she looks great, but this is one hella unflattering photo. When I saw the picture of just their heads I thought, “Huh, I didn’t realize Woody was gay” and when I opened the link and saw the dress, I thought, “Why is Woody’s boyfriend wearing a dress?” Really, really unflattering pic.
It’s rare you see a hollywood couple last so long so I’m really happy for them both. They look cute together. I hope they have many more years of happiness.

As for her ‘grooming’. Geez, you can get that in a heartbeat if you have the right money and the right resources. Having and sustaining a 20 year long relationship is something that you can’t buy or source. Every consider that her investment in her relationship rather than her ‘grooming’ is what’s helped it last so long? I’m pretty sure Woody is around well groomed ladies an awful lot so I doubt it’s about that or just that.
Congrats to the happy couple!! I LOVE Woody & the way he & his family live. But I’m a damn dirty hippie & proud of it!

I’m with drgrrl and Aleach. Not everyone has to have bleached teeth and blowdried hair and plucked and waxed EVERYTHING. There’s something to be said for being natural and he obviously sees it in her, so why the fuss?

Yo, folks. I am not talking about being overbleached, overbotoxed, or overwaxed. I’m merely talking about running a comb through your hair. I’ve been in a great marriage for 22 years and never had to choose between good grooming and my marriage – I have both. Your comments are lame. We are talking personal hygiene and body care here, not physical beauty.

they both look fine. they are just two hippies who at least shower or so it appears. she looks fine to me, good skin, lovely smile with great teeth, clean hair though not styled just free and untouched, and a healthy weight and disposition.. i want to look that good when i get to their age sans resorting to the chemical and surgical prodding and altering that many at their age or younger seem to be fond of ;o)
