You might mistake these photos for some kind of Independence Day-themed magazine pictorial, or some kind of professional photoshoot involving Taylor Swift and some very photogenic models. You would be wrong. Taylor posted all of these photos (and many more!) on her blog – from what I can see, the photos were just taken by her friends/employees. The other people are from her Red Tour, and they had the Fourth of July off, so she hosted a huge party at her Rhode Island mansion (I guess that’s where they are). Swifty posted these pics with this message:

This time around, my touring family joined me at the beach and I wanted to show you some of the pictures because you’re the reason we all get to be on tour together. I have to admit, these photos made me kind of jealous of Swifty’s vacation. It looked like wholesome fun in the sun, with lots of posing and face-painting and straw hats. When I was Swifty’s age, I usually spent Independence Day drunk off my ass (or worse) and passed out cold by the time the fireworks began. Does Swifty even allow alcohol in her house? I guess those red cups could be for some kind of keg, right?
Oh, and that older man is Swifty’s father. I’m not sure about the way she’s posing against him… I don’t know. That’s not the father-daughter relationship I had, but maybe it’s not unusual. Last thing: BOLT-ONS! There they are.

Why is this so weird? Some of us are very close to our dads. Taylor obviously loves her father. Which is a good thing since we always hear about the absentee father who doesn’t want to pay child support.

The pose with her dad is weird. Not the closeness, but that pose (one leg in the air, arched back, looking at the camera coquettishly) is something you do with a lover, not your dad. At least he looks normal.

I have a 24-year old daughter myself, and she gets a pass on SOME things because she is “young” (which can also be interchangeable with not mature/not wise), but age and experience will certainly change that.

I think these are cute. I get tired of this idea that there is a right way to have fun as an adult. This looks like a lot of fun to me and plenty of fun for her friends and tour mates- and reportedly their signicant others. Volleyball, playing on the beach, face painting, silly games, lots of friends being silly with me? Throw in the wine for later that was in some of the pics and you have a great time in my book.

As for the bolt-ons, I still don’t think so. Not because of these pics so much as others recently. In the straight on pics you can see that she has some thighs now, and a little bit of hip.
