Former couple Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake had an awkward chance run-in at a small restaurant that left them actively ignoring each other for a tense half an hour. Timberlake was eating with his live-in girlfriend, Jessica Biel, when Britney came in at 10pm:
Britney Spears ran into ex Justin Timberlake at Yatai Asian Tapas Bar in West Hollywood Monday night, an eyewitness reveals to Usmagazine.com.
Timberlake was in the middle of a late-night dinner with current girlfriend Jessica Biel when Spears walked through the door with her mom Lynne around 10 p.m.
While “Jessica looked gorgeous,” Spears “didn’t look the best, but she probably thought no one would see her, as this restaurant isn’t usually a hot spot,” the onlooker tells Us.
The witness describes the restaurant as “so small…like the size of a living room,” and the situation as “uncomfortable.
“Jessica and Justin looked to be slumping down in their seats to avoid [Spears]. She left 30 minutes later,” another source tells Us. “Shortly afterward, Justin and Jessica got in their car and left.”

What’s an Asian tapas Bar? Tapas bars are necessarily Spanish, and an Asian tapas bar would be like dim sum or sushi or something. It just doesn’t make sense to me.
It’s surprising that Britney and Justin didn’t even acknowledge each other. At least Britney didn’t turn around and walk out and both parties kind of dealt with it for a while. I guess all those rumors of a duet or some kid of musical collaboration between Britney and Justin weren’t true. They both performed separate numbers with Madonna at Dodgers Stadium on November 6, so you would think they were at least on speaking terms. Maybe they avoided each other backstage.

One might guess that one of the two had been pestering the other to do a duet, and the answer was no.
Otherwise they could have just smile/grimaced and stiffly waved at each other, which is what I generally do when unexpectedly running into exes.
Asian tapas bars aren’t set up the way dim sum is. Just imagine a spanish tapas bar (small portions meant to be shared), but with asian inspired food. Tons of restaurants in N.A. have stolen the concept of a tapas and made it their own.
Tapas is this notion of “small dishes” or like appetizers for meals. And while you’re totally right that it is originally a Spanish thing, many places have taken that notion and done all sorts of different twists on it.
However, Roma is right, it’s nothingnothing like dim sum, which is meant to be like a brunch and goes only from like 9-3 (If you’re lucky enough to live in an area with either, a lot of Chinese or Vietnamese, as Dim Sum is specific to the two and not all other Asian countries.) Dim sum is generally carts being brought around where you can let your food ADD run wild. Though I’ve seen it where you order it off a menu, which I thought to be very peculiar and not real dim sum at all. (Turns out, it tasted like crap, so definitely not the good stuff.)
Oh, and sushi is in a whole other category and is absolutely nothing like Dim Sum or Tapas. lol.

Timberlake was probably too embarassed to speak to her. She’s still a mess (even though she’s better than she was.)

Thanks for explaining it to me Roma and Annie! I’ve lived in Berlin for over a year and Switzerland for a couple of years before that. When I lived in the states I was on the east coast near NY and went to a few tapas bars, but they were traditional Spanish tapas. I hope this is a new trend for restaurants in the US or I’ll feel pretty out of touch.

asian style tapas bars do not come from any spanish influence. in japan they’re called izakaya, and are bars/restaurants that serve alcohol with different small dishes (japanese food is almost always served in small portions anyway). these places have been around for ages in japan, and you can find at least 10 even in the smallest towns.

Justin seems to be the one, that is so nervous and jumpy, everytime he gets close to Britney. I think she could care less………….
I did have a realy akward encounter with an ex… Imagine a Xmas party with my current boyfriend and his classmates. We showed up and were seated in a long long table…just to have seated right in front of me this guy I used to date and had a huge crush on…stares, giggles and some under-the-table things going on…Really akward..later I confessed to my boyfriend all about the other guy…ouch
I don’t know what is up with the two of them, but I find it rather strange that on each one of their albums they put out that there is one or two tracks that seem to be dedicated to the other. For instance, we know Cry me a River was dedicated to Britney cuz he put a look a like in the video, then Britney with Everytime, then Justin with What goes Around come around and also Break the Ice sound like it’s directed at Justin. Another Love song could be directed at Britney because I don’t recall JT ever having another serious breakup with a girl besides Britney and at the time the song was wrote he hadn’t broke up with Cameron yet so….Then it’s funny that when the fans catch on they try to deny that it was wrote about the other one. What Goes around comes around seemed like it was about Britney to me, every part of the lyrics sounded like they were directed specifically at her. Then it was rumored he wrote her a letter when she was in rehab. I also remember that when Britney and Kevin Chaotic was aired there was an episode of Britney making fun of Justin. They sure keep you guessing, that’s for sure. What I do hate about JT is that like someone else said he seems to try to act like he thinks he’s so above Britney now, yet she was the one that cheated on him. For the record I think when Britney is at her best she could is way prettier than Jessica Biel. I for one would be interested to see JT and Brit get back together for a few years at least. It would totally boost their careers again and they could be another Hollywood power couple. I mean you hardly ever hear about JT and Jessica, but you always heard about JT and Brit when they were dating.
I think they could of just waved at each other, it’s quick and friendly. I mean they broke up like 7 years ago, I think that’s long enough to be on good terms. I love both of them and seeing old videos of them really shows how happy they were with each other. They should back together, they were very adorable in each other’s arms. She’s pretty and he’s handsome, perfect.
