Bedhead already covered the photos of Katy Perry at the Smurfs 2 premiere in LA yesterday. These are just some notable others from that event, particularly Britney Spears and her boys Sean Preston, 7, and Jayden James, 6. Both boys have birthdays in September and they look so grown up to me here! I love how they’re dressed like every other little boy their age. It looks like Sean Jayden (thanks for letting me know the blonde kid is Jayden) is even wearing Sketchers. Check out the faces he’s making with his mom, he’s such a ham!
Britney also looks very happy and relaxed with her boys. I’m not fond of her Leger bandage dress, those look a little dated to me now and I dislike how short those dresses are, but Britney loves that look and she often wears Leger on the red carpet. She looks gorgeous. I love her hair and makeup especially. She’s come a long way.
Britney has a new single for the movie, “Ooh La La!,” which Katy Perry (Smurfette) “secretly” sang backup vocals for.
At the New York screening of the film we have Christina Ricci in an adorable light blue spaghetti strap dress with a kind of faux-peplum. What is going on at the waist there? It’s like the dress flares out but there’s no peplum in sight. Ricci told People Magazine that she’s so excited to be engaged because she gets to call her boyfriend her “fiance.” She said she’s looking forward to calling him her husband eventually. Ricci voices an animated character called Vexy who is like a troublemaker smurf created by Gargamel to wreak havoc. I really hope my kid does not want to see this movie. Bedhead has no choice since she gets stuck with the kids’ reviews at Pajiba.
Neil Patrick Harris classing up the joint in his blue tailored suit. He plays a real person. In case you are at all interested, this movie has a mix of actual people and animated smurf characters. Here’s a link to the trailer.
Neil brought his partner, David Burtka, and their nearly two year-old twins Harper and Gideon, cute!
Neil’s onscreen wife, Jayma Mays, (yes I saw the first Smurfs movie) didn’t get the memo about wearing blue and opted for a bright orange and pink Paper London dress paired with goofy Brian Atwood shoes. It’s a bold look, that’s for sure.

She looks SO much better and healthy and happy… but…. is it just me, or does she still have the most uncomfortable smile when being photographed? Either that or she’s holding in a fart, I can’t tell.
FYI. The blond is Jayden, her youngest. So cute how he is holding her hand as he wanders the red carpet. She looks great and I am very happy for her!
She looks like she’s waiting for the crowd to start pitching rocks. Her teeth are always clamped together and it looks like she is forcing the corner of her lips up. She looks scared. She actually reminds me of a horse side-eying a stranger in trepidation.
Yeah. She always looks as if she is tense and tight in the photos and somehow afraid. Whatever path she walks and has walked, I hope she hangs on to the thought that “my children love me.”
Britbrit!!! Oh, I’ll always have a soft spot for her! It’s nice to see her looking happy and carefree, so different from the stiff wax statue Britney we used to see a while back. Her boys are so cute and sweet; she looks gorgeous and her body is bangin’!
Also, Jayma Mays’s shoes are cool, but NOT with this outfit.

and as always interesting that these celebs can bring their kids to their premiers and have fun on a RC and never get accused of pimping their children for a movie.
But I guess it depends on the celebrity.
This is different though. The Smurfs is a family movie so obviously some celebs with kids will bring them to see it because a premiere might be kind of a fun thing for kids to do. It’s different than Affleck trotting his kids around 2 weeks before the Oscars and then kvetching about the paparazzi 2 weeks after.
Britney has the same sad smile that Kim Richards has.

I remember reading an article about her having really bad anxiety attacks while on the X-Factor and wondered whether her medications triggered her anxiety.

From experience I can say I had that look when I got Botox once and the doc injected more in certain areas. After a couple of months I had that “sad” look because I was only able to lift my inner eyebrows. I looked terrible!
She looks like ‘herself’ in these pictures (& any with her boys <3). Has she taken her boys on the red carpet before? I agree with Bopit, her expressions do seem a *little* unsure in some shots.

I think she looks different – maybe it’s just the hair style, but her face looks so different.
The color of the dress is right on, but she’s worn that style to death — something more modern would have been fun. I don’t know why her people always, always have to put her in something skin tight with the too blinde hair. She should be able to move on from that image.

I thought the same about her face, very youthful looking. Not that she old, but she is looking younger….
It looks like she got veneers – whoever did them did a very good job too ; they do make the face look different because they make the teeth look slightly buck toothed which brings the upper lip forward. She’d rock Auburn coloured hair – it would make her big brown eyes stand out moreso than the blonde, and compliment her skin tone.
She looks totally different to me but I can’t put my finger on it. Botox? Her skin looks amazing here. Maybe it’s just really good lighting. She still has that deer-in-the-headlights terrified look, poor thing. Those ugly clunky pumps just make her look chunky all over though.
She also plucked her eyebrows, which makes a huge huge difference when she gets them done.

I think it’s the bangs. She has a very high forhead and it makes her head look mishapen when her hair is all pulled back. I like the bangs.

These photos almost melted my heart of ice. Its nice to see Britney looking somewhat together and Neil Patrick Harris and his family are just gorgeous.
She still looks kind of uncomfortable to me when she smiles or poses, but she is a million times better than she was. You can see it in her face. I bet it helps that her boys are older now. When your kids are babies/toddlers it can really wear on you, and hers are a year apart and came from a marriage where she knew she’d jumped into it in so many wrong ways and never let herself heal from Justin. She just seems emotionally better, like the ghosts aren’t rattling her chains anymore.

Her boys are so close in age, they look like fraternal twins. They’re cute kids though.
Nothing about Britney in the last couple years looks “relaxed”. She does look pretty and her boys are so big now. It’s still sad to see how uncomfortable she looks now a days.

She’s always smiled like that – teeth, but furrowed brow – like she’s uneasy. Her weave looks good, but since the latest nose job, she doesn’t look the same. I wish people would stop with the surgeries. So, if/when her boys get older and have her nose, they’ll think there’s something wrong with them. It sends a really poor message to your kids when your mess with your face.

Re Brit’s descriptions: Unsure, uncomfortable, uneasy, unnatural, petrified, anxiety, sad smile. I don’t think Brit’s PR is sending out the message they think they are.
She looks much better these days but she does seem very uneasy in the spotlight. I would imagine that she amassed a fortune over the years. It would be nice if she could retire and just take care of her boys in peace.
