Patrick Stewart & Sunny Ozell release wedding picture: lovely & amazing?

Patrick Stewart

I’ll get to the heart of this post in a moment. First, here’s a photo from Patrick Stewart’s amazing Twitter account of Patrick, Elmo, and Ian McKellan hanging in Times Square. Isn’t this one of the most unexpected photos you’ve ever seen in your life? Look how sassy Ian looks with that crazy tie. What a three-way bromance.

Oh we’re talking about a wedding — Patrick’s Sept. 7 wedding to Sunny Ozell. Contrary to prior assumptions and Twitpics, the two did not get married in a ballpit. I guess Chuck E. Cheese was the honeymoon. The wedding itself took place at Lake Tahoe. We don’t have access to the picture, but you can see it HERE. Patrick and Ian both look quite handsome in their grey suits (Ian was officiating), and Sunny’s dress was both quirky and understated in its lacy detail. It looks like a lovely affair, and I wish I was invited.

In the wedding annoucement post last time, most of you expressed delight at this union. Some of you acted disgusted when I didn’t jump down 73-year-old Patrick’s throat because he married a 35-year-old woman. I think the term “double standard” was used more than once like I was slapping Patrick on the back for bagging such a young babe. I’m sorry if you felt that way, but Sunny’s not some wide-eyed 20 something. She’s old enough to have a full sense of self. She’s certainly not being taken advantage of by Patrick. I’m 38 and wouldn’t marry a 70 something, but if that’s what makes her happy as a mature woman, why not.

For me, the threshold for age difference seems less weird when the younger party is at least 30. Patrick and Sunny don’t throw the same vibe as 55-year-old Madonna and her 25-year-old boytoy, Brahim Zaibat. Lest you think I’m being sexist, I also cringe at 38-year-old Bradley Cooper and his 20-year-old model girlfriend, Suki Waterhouse. Some of my eyerolling on the BCoop/Suki situation involves him hooking up with a youngun right after saying he couldn’t date Jennifer Lawrence because “I could literally be her father.” That’s a double standard.

Overall, it’s nearly impossible to hate on Patrick freaking Stewart. Look at how they laugh together in his masterclass quadruple take video. They’re so happy together.

    Where is the wedding pic?

  2. ALJsMom says:

he’s a pretty hot old man

  3. Tish says:

    Love her wedding dress!!!

  4. Clever hand says:

Sorry that I don’t feel like that explanation is really valid you shouldn’t post his wedding picture with the headline best wedding picture ever And then throw shade at Madonna who actually has less of an age gap with her boyfriend then Patrick Stewart does with his new wife. I’m not hating at all I love the blog I’m just saying the fact that you feel like there’s a better relationship between Patrick and his wife doesn’t make it any less skeezy

    • Lafrenchy says:

      Totally agree!

    • m says:

      The explanation is actually valid.

A 18 year old dating a 13 year old is only a 5 year age difference, but I’m sure we all agree it is wrong even without the illegal physical aspect because, you do so much growing in those 5 years.

The argument is that by 30 you have grown up, know who you are and what you want. You don’t have to agree with the argument, but it is a valid one.

When we were dating there was a rule…. half the older partners age +7 years. (or -7 and double your age if the younger party). Anyone else do this?

      • Lafrenchy says:

Actually this rule is not one: it´s the famous quote of a very mysoginistic french Writer of the 50’s named Sacha Guitry , he said that to keep a man. Sufficiently interested in a woman he should take a woman that is half his age +7. We are talking about a Writer who also said that as adorable as They are women are not able to make their one decisions… Because they are not fully equiped to do it…

It´ s a shame that the saying of such a mysoginistic man is now used by some women as a proper dating rule.

Ps :in the case of Patrick Stewart his wife is even too young regarding this saying..:which is quite telling

      • Florc says:

Hmm.. Thought the rule was age divided by 2 +8years. Not 7. And it was to show what age gaps were socially acceptable for dating. For the most part it does ring true. People will talk more if the ages fall outside of the acceptable range given by this equation.

They’re the exception imo. Very sweet and genuine together. And her dress was perfect for the setting.

      • Pink says:

Madonna and her guy are just red herrings. Its not just her who gets snarky pieces, its practically any woman dating younger. Have a quick look at articles about JLo, Demi, Sharon or Maloof. Those women are just unlikeable you may say.

Ok, so then look at Sarandon, Julianne Moore or my personal fav Duchess of Alba. The shade may not be super explicit but rest assured that the headline will highlight the age gap. Or the word cougar will show up. Or the guy will repeatedly be called a “boy toy”. Duchess of Alba I remember clearly because her 65 year old husband was referred to as her boy toy in the headline no less!

So dont get distracted by Madonna (who had a great AMA on reddit yesterday btw). Theres a pattern here so lets dialogue, make the world better, yada yada.

    • tealily says:

This explanation makes perfect sense to me.

      • Clever hand says:

Just to be clear I have no issue with the relationship, my mom is actually 15 years younger than my dad lol. I just hate the way Patrick Stewart is presented as “lovely” and Madge is presented as pathetic. My issue is with the selective shade.

    • Marigold says:

C’mon. There’s a difference between Patrick Stewart finding actual love with a 35 year old and Madonna banging some 25 year old flavor of the month to feel young. Stewart’s relationship seems organic while Madonna’s feels like it materialized after she browsed a Boys R Us catalogue.

      • Nono says:

“Boys R Us”! Aha, that’s hilarious.

I agree there’s a double standard, but I don’t think it’s much evident on Celebitchy.

As for the photo in question … Well, it got my eyes wet, it did. Patrick Stewart has such a full life at his age. That’s truly heartwarming. Here’s to hoping all of us have the same, whatever our number.

      • Lucinda says:

The only difference is Stewart is more likeable. And a man.

      • Ann says:

It always amazes me how women so eagerly step up to defend men’s privileges. Internalized misogyny?

      • hazeldazel says:

        this is the difference:

madonna is pathetic and doesn’t know how to age gracefully – thus all the boy-toys of the month. It’s not about a real connection.

stewart doesn’t take himself too seriously and has some self-respect. He has been in committed relationship for a long time and obviously has a connection beyond wanting to look relevant.

It’s not the numbers, it’s the context.

      • Nono says:

Oh, Ann, did you really have to trot out that old Chestnut?

“Internalised misogyny: when a woman disagrees with me.”

Patrick Stewart and Madonna are treated differently for a very simple reason: people generally see Patrick as likeable, and Madonna as insufferable. I LIKE Madonna, but the fact is that a lot of people don’t, and it’s going to colour their perception of her actions.

Do critics exist who have sexist motives for their criticism of Madonna? Certainly – as I’m sure there are people who criticise Patrick for the same reason. However, I gather that the majority of criticism stems from a like or dislike of the person, not their gender: Patrick is simply more liked.

      • Ann says:

I will trot out that “old chestnut” as long as women will so eagerly apply double standards that favor men to the detriment of women. I don’t “like” Madonna and I’m neutral on Stewart; no one on here knows either personally so them being “likeable” or not is a moot point. I do, however, think that the age difference here is much more ridiculous in Stewart’s case and no, age, is NOT “just a number” (this will always be trotted out when the man is ancient and the wife/girlfriend much younger). Women react to Stewart’s status, fame and money because, believe me, seriously, no young woman wants 70 year old balls in her face.

      • Nono says:

Them being likeable or not is NOT a moot point. That’s what celebrities are, individuals who have some talent who are also VERY charismatic. That’s how they become stars- by appealing to public taste. (Why do you think Miley tries so hard to get attention with her antics? Because the only star power she wields is in her body. It’s also why someone like Adele doesn’t need to look like Miley- because she’s got a stellar personality AND immense talent.) Madonna’s charisma is not of the easy kind, although there are always people who will be attracted to her type; while Stewart’s charm is, nowadays, in his disarming and harmless respectability (see also Helen Mirren and Ian McKellen).

You’ve yet to make a compelling argument that there’s a double standard here at Celebitchy. And while I agree it exists in the general populace, you can’t reduce any specific case to something as simple as sexism. In some cases, depending on the object and the subject, there will be many reasons for an individual to dislike a coupling, and the gender of the individuals probably doesn’t even rank first on their list- if it ranks at all. Most of the women who we’ve seen take younger men have also been generally otherwise unlikeable- Madonna, Demi Moore, etc.

Seeing everything exclusively, or even just primarily, through a gendered lens is, as Madonna would say, “reductive”.

      • lafrenchy says:

        @Ann:

Don’t bother Ann, I totally got your point and I totally agree!

There will always be some excuses made to supposedly explain the double standard, the “oh well he is nice”, “he is talented” ” he is likable”…While oddly whenever it’s a woman, Any woman she would fall directly into the “she is pathetic “box and they would find anything they can to fill that box…And that is exactly the application of the double standard.

      • Marigold says:

@Ann, I’m not eagerly defending anyone. Someone compared this relationship to Madonna’s and it’s a bad comparison. If Patrick Stewart were banging a bunch of young chicks the way Madonna bangs young men, I’d feel the same way about him. Don’t go psychoanalyzing someone you don’t know. You’re not good at it.

    • MollyB says:

I don’t go by the “age gap” rule because not all years are weighed the same. I am virtually same between the two year gap of 30 to 32. My daughter, however, has changed completely in the two years between newborn and 2. A fifteen year age gap of a 40 y.o. man or woman and a 55 y.o. man or woman is not a big deal. The fifteen year age gap between a 20 y.o. and 35 y.o. is. I agree that once you hit 30 or 35, you are done maturing and all bets are off.

    • mytbean says:

The difference is life experience. There are character changing revelations between those decades. At a younger age we don’t see that though and only hind-site is perfect.

So when someone 10+ years older dates a 20 year old it smacks of objectification or something equally *blech* because we know intuitively that it can’t be about the appreciation of shared intellect.

  5. Anna says:

I’m 31-yo and I would marry a 70-yo if that 70-yo was Alan Rickman. Or the ex-bf who was my ‘one that got away’.

    • j.eyre says:

Most of the time Mr. Rochester acts like a 17 year old so I suppose I deserve some shade too (and a ton of credit for babysitting 3 children instead of just the two I bore.)

      • Meliscious says:

I can relate. I have two sons but when someone asks how many BOYS I have, I am usually tempted to say three with the disclaimer that I only have hope of two of them maturing anymore. Babysitting INDEED.

      • Nono says:

We’re quick to get up in arms about men infantilising women, but when women do it to men, it’s brushed off.

“No more!” I say. Not cool, J!

      • T.fanty says:

Yeah, Miss J. Let your man be a man (but don’t forget to make him a sandwich after because all that manliness makes him hungry).

      • Nono says:

Haha, T.Fanty, I’m just mixing in the gender commentary because the post seems to have stirred up all the usual crazy.

I actually don’t care how two consenting adults interact with each other. If Eyre wants to coddle her husband, and he enjoys it, good for them.

It was an opportunity to make fun of the gender ninnies who make a mountain where there isn’t even a molehill. In other words, interpret my post as if I had added a “:P” at the end.

      • Meliscious says:

Ooooh…I may have misinterpreted @j.eyre. So you don’t mind him acting like a 17 y.o.? After 17 years of marriage, I think I am ready to let mine find a new babysitter.

      • T.Fanty says:

Heeheee! I hope you didn’t take my little bitchery to heart. No offense meant!

And P.S. She doesn’t coddle him. She beats him like a red-headed stepchild and makes him stand on the naughty stool with a placard of shame around his neck.

  6. The Original Mia says:

I love her wedding dress! I love the bromance between Patrick and Ian. It’s great to see.

  7. Ag says:

Love him! May they live long and prosper.

  8. Arock says:

They look so happy together. As an added bonus
Patrick Stewart and Ian doing anything- grocery shopping, having tea, folding laundry, whatever, makes me a happy person.
But I’ll just come out and say it- Her eyebrows make her look like an emoticon.

    • Bedhead says:

Thank you, I forgot to mention her eyebrows! They weird me out a little bit too.

      • SnarkySnarkers says:

YES! The eyebrows! I think if she just filled them in a little. Theres such a wide gap between them now. I have a friend with this same problem and I agonize over telling her all the time LOL I just think it can make a world of difference when woman have the right eyebrow shape. Ok. I feel better.

    • TQB says:

OMG they totally do. My mom has eyebrows like that. We used to say she looked like a cartoon character where the brows float about the head.

love her shoes in the last pic.

  9. Maritza says:

Yes, I love her beautiful lace wedding dress. They look so happy, congratulations!

  10. binturong says:

So when you next report on Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, don’t go throwing shade at the age difference, or that he left his “wife”. Stewart fits into both those categories, so let’s be fair, in spite of this being a gossip site.

    • Nono says:

The vibes I get off Johnny and Amber are that he thinks she’s pretty and she thinks he’ll be a good boost for her career. There doesn’t seem to be much else there. The same thing goes for Madonna and Jesus (just switch genders), and most other couples with significant age differences- Clooney and all his arm candy, hello?

Patrick and his lovely wife, on the other hand, do truly seem to enjoy each other. Whether he’s with her because she has a young body and she’s with him because he has an old one and lots of money is neither here nor there, really, because their relationship strikes people as more than that. They genuinely seem to care for each other.

  11. Lafrenchy says:

Err Still feeling a but nauseous the double standard is actually always using the ” at least she is not 20″ when the woman is the younger , always implying that she is not THAT young even when there is a huge age difference.

While oddly in The same situation when The man is The younger it seems that he is never old inoff to be in a relationship with an older woman… I remember reading here not so long about Elle Mc Pherson et her younger husband ( 5 years) or robin Wright. And Ben Foster ( he is a good 32) and oddly their age difference was particularly underline….

Sorry but as well liked as Patrick steward is and even if his wife is not ” a wide eyed” young girl, the fact that he marries someone young inoff to be his grandkid is abdolutely worth being underlined… And discussed!! And in my case I find this news particularly disgusting and creepy

  12. magpie says:

They look so much alike it’s creepy. Check out that 3rd pic!

  13. TQB says:

Patrick Stewart makes Twitter worthwhile. That Elmo picture made everyone in my house happy – from my Trekkie spouse to my 2 year old. And of course, me, as I find Stewart’s age a non-issue and would hit that whenever, wherever.

  14. Apsutter says:

They’re adorable and by every account Patrick is a class act of a human being. And I can’t believe she’s 38!!

  15. Ana says:

Robin Wright and Ben Forster did get the “side eye” around here, if I recall correctly. Can I suggest a very clear policy guideline moving forward. What age is too young? What age is too old? What gap is too wide? I do confess to feeling a little frustrated at the occassional sexism that rears up here.

    • Lafrenchy says:

      Thank you .Slow clap

    • Jade says:

Exactly, if it was a 73 yr old woman and a 35 yr old man, I’m sure no one would be saying they look ‘cute’ together, and they are so in love, people would think he’s either a gigolo or just wield and a pervert, and she would be sad and desperate.
I think when your partner could be mistaken for your parent or grandparent, then they are probably too old for you.

      • Pandy says:

I agree. I think we’re cutting him slack because he looks old, cute and harmless. I think he and Ian McKellar make the better match! She’s more than half his age- blech!!! Bet if he was the old man down the street and not an actor with $$ that she wouldn’t be in the picture.

  16. judyjudy says:

    Her dress is freakin’ gorgeous.

  17. mkyarwood says:

The double standard is alive and well as is the ‘exception’ to the rule. And that rule is, well, if I like them, it’s not bad. By that sentiment, anyone should be allowed to do anything, as long as somebody somewhere thinks they’re alright. Personally, I believe those who fall into the acting profession ALL have a little arrested development, a little sexual swing and, in the case of Ozell, a few Daddy Issues. I love me some Patrick Stewart and (though I am 33 and would not marry him) I would certainly give him a go in the sack. I also don’t mind Madonna’s baby Brahim. Get it, Granny <3

  18. Cali says:

Forget the age gap! Does anyone else think they look alike??? Weird.

  19. Virgilia Coriolanus says:

I just can’t believe he’s in his seventies….looking at him right now, I’d guess early fifties at most.

    I love her dress!

  20. Sisi says:

elmo doesn’t know where to look

  21. Maria says:

i dont care but i was really disappointed with Bradley Cooper. he brought it on himself though. if you try to sweet talk the ladies into buying movie tickets with “that girl is too young” and then date an even yonger one, well there will be backlash.

  22. penguin says:

As s 30 yr old it freaks me out that people would consider me old enough to date a 73 yr old. I’ll stick with my 27 yr old boyfriend thanks. I find it quite offensive for some reason.

    • A says:

As women we are never “too young”. After the age of 14 all bets are off!
Heck, I’m 25 and it freaks ME out. We are always said to be more mature than the opposite sex. I don’t know about anyone else but I don’t feel mature or more mature than the men (yes MEN) my age. In fact, it freaks me out because I’m what I guess one would call a “late bloomer” and the fact that people put so much responsibility and project maturity onto us women is disturbing.
I remember that even when I was a kid. We were always told we are more mature than the boys but I knew that wasn’t true. Being polite and quiet doesn’t mean you are mature, it means you want to please the adults (at least that was true in my case).
The worst part is, it’s women too! It’s not enough that we get it from men but then women do it and shoot themselves in the foot as well.
Sorry for the rant but it disturbs me. And I hate that people try to normalize it. I don’t care how much you like the person, or how many of his movies you love, it’s STILL creepy for a 70 something year old to be with a 30 something year old – Sorry! That’s just how I feel.

      • Nono says:

It’s a biological fact that women mature earlier than men, both physically and mentally. There’s a slew of literature on the subject. Things even out in the early to mid twenties, however, and at that point the sexes are on equal footing as regards maturity.

      • A says:

        Actually, that’s not true.
Girls mature faster than boys *physically* before puberty. After puberty they mature equally fast. This is only physically.
Mentally nothing has been proven as fact. And it would be a hard thing to prove anyway.
Physical maturity has nothing to do with mental maturity.

      • lafrenchy says:

        @A:

Absolutely and totally agree with your comment I am 27 and I am freaking out to discover that women perpetrate some very backward thoughts on what a woman is supposed to be and on what she is suppose to settle.

Actually it is now proven and backed by studies (I think it has been made by the Cambridge sociological studies Dep) that there is no difference in term of maturing between a female and a male in term of brain development.
The only differences are made by cultural bringing (the more a society is machist and the more a girl will be raised with responsibilities for herself at a young age.

@Nono: there is a just slightly difference in term of physical maturing (2-3 years maximum) .
And even if there was a difference in term of brain maturing (well there is not) it is quite far fetched to assume that this difference will be more than a few years… let alone 38 ones.

      • Nono says:

Hm? Lafrenchy, if you read my comment 😛 you’ll see that nowhere am I stating that men are children for the entirety of their lives. That’s preposterous.

I’m simply stating that women’s bodies undergo maturation earlier, and the hormonal and other changes therefore affect their brains earlier than they would males, causing women to become maturer earlier- and yes, that means mentally, as well.

As just one example of the difference, women typically stop growing in height at about ~20, while men typically stop at ~23. The start of the sexes’ growth spurts also indicates that there’s a 2-4 year gap between the sexes in this regard.

I’m not going to go into detail, but other changes that the body undergoes influences mental state, which means that women become mentally mature (outside of life experience and the like) significantly earlier than men do.

But again, by the mid-20s this isn’t an issue anymore.

      • Lafrenchy says:

So you are just giving a confirmation of what I just said 2-3 years around puberty that quickly fades away.

And again no there is no difference At all regarding the brain growth between both gender and it is now scientifically proven.
Oh and regarding ” the men never mature really” it´s actually very culturally related to north America . Anywhere else the ” boys Will be boys” mentality and the childish behavior is not only not tolerated but even considered as a lack of manhood. Go ask some 23 years old father of 2 ghanean what he believes about men never really maturing…

  23. Tessa says:

I’m 30. I couldn’t imagine dating someone in their 70’s. Not feeling it. Don’t find it cute. Sorry.

  24. Miss Scarlet says:

Benedict Cumberbatch owns the same Tshirt that Stewart is wearing in the top photo…it must be mandatory for Brits to own a Tshirt of the Brooklyn Bridge, although I can’t imagine why!

Or maybe it’s the same shirt, and they borrow it back and forth. ; )

  25. bluhare says:

I don’t know why everyone’s getting so offended. They’re adults, and there’s not even a hint of manipulation here on anyone’s part. That’s what gets me about these old/young romances, that one is so obviously being manipulated by the other. Not the age difference.

  26. Silly me says:

Younger girl found an older gold mine. I think it’s hideous and does a disservice to all the beautiful intelligent women of a more appropriate age.

    • Andrea says:

Agreed. I feel like getting married is about spending ones life together . . . or in the case of older people spending the remainder of one’s life with the person. He is definitly going to die before her. In this case, she could become his full time caregiver in two years. No paycheck is worth that!

      • MaiGirl says:

Tell me about it! He looks good now, but he might be in diapers within the next 10 years. She is doing what she wants to do, clearly, but she has a lot of life left to live, and he probably doesn’t. It seems like women dating/married to much older men age faster, too. I know my friend, who is in her early 30s, married to a dude who is 57, has aged A LOT in the past few years.

  27. Suzy from Ontario says:

Her dress is really pretty. Despite the age difference, they make a nice looking couple (as opposed to say Hugh Hefner and his child-bride).

Many blessings to them. They’ve been together for a while (since 2008), so hopefully they know each other well enough and have enough in common to make the marriage work.

  28. CaribbeanLaura says:

I personally judge on a case by case skeeve factor basis. That is if I’m not skeeved out by them in pics and stuff then it doesn’t bother me.

Robin Wright and Ben Foster – No skeeve.
Courtney Stodden and that Guy – Vomit
The Duchess of Alba and her Mister – Love it
Sir Patrick and Sunny – No Skeeve. In the pics they seem like a nice couple so I have no problem.
Plus I have a Harry Styles problem that won’t go away so when you guys see pics of us vacationing in Ibiza please don’t judge.

    • UghInsomnia says:

Just don’t be alarmed when you find me hiding in your carry on to Ibiza!

      Love,
Way Too Old for Harry Styles but Can’t Help It

  29. Allie says:

Age gap doesn’t bother me at all as long as both parties are legally adults. Age doesn’t matter and if both people are getting their rocks off, what’s it to you.

  30. Louisa says:

I’ll start by saying I adore Patrick Stewart – the video where he talked about the abuse his mother suffered at the hands of his father filled me with such admiration, he has a fan for life in me. However, I do see the double standard here. 38 years is huge age gap and if it was the other way around there’s no way it would be getting the same reaction.
My bigger problem with May – December relationships is not so much the age difference but the fact that in most cases the younger party doesn’t seem to have anything else going for them. Take Madonna for example as she was the one brought up. Whatever you think of her, you can’t deny she has worked her butt off her whole adult life and is an enormous success. If she was dating a 25 yo who had a life away from her, and was working towards making himself a success and respected in his own right(in any chosen field) I don’t think I would have an issue.
Same goes for the younger woman / older man. I respect a man much more, even if the woman is younger, if she actually does something and is not just content being his arm candy.
I don’t know what Sunny Ozell does for a living but hopefully at 35 she has some kind of job / passion / interest away from her husband.

So true! It’s always a little suspect when the younger party isn’t about much, whether male or female. And, of course, it’s usually the much younger girlfriend/wife.

    • Louse says:

She apparently has her own career as a singer, and does some acting.

I think if a grown adult (and can we please agree that at 35 she qualifies?) made me smile and laugh as much as he appears to be, I’d be all-in, age be damned. They look like they revel in each other’s company.

Sunny has a great fashion sense. I’ve been loving her clothing, accessories and especially her shoe choices. Damn, I wish I had money!

Anybody else notice Sunny has flawless skin? Seriously great complexion.

  32. Violet says:

Much as I adore Patrick, I think the age gap is simply too big. She’s in her sexual prime and he’s a senior citizen, old enough to be her grandfather — I just can’t believe that he can keep up with her without popping pills and risking a heart attack.

    • Nono says:

Eh, people have different sex drives. It’s possible they’re completely compatible in that regard.

      • lafrenchy says:

@nono: sure. But sex drive is determined mainly by biology, the sad truth: a 73 year old no matter how much pills he will pop has -ahem- hard time getting there…

Men have a biological clock too, that starts at 35, after 50 the testosterone takes a severe plunge… which in this case means 23 years prior from now, doctors can help a 50 years old with pills… but they can not operate magic on an old man ( viagra and cialis, are inefficients past a certain age… and that certain age is around 55…)

So even if she has the lowest sex drive for her age, I am pretty sure that she at least have some more than an old man (biologically)…

ps: my source: my doctor dad, specialized in fertility issues

      • Nono says:

I understand what you mean, but I’m hesitant to suppose it’s a problem. They must both know what they’ve gotten into with the other (unless Patrick’s senescence is interfering with his mental faculties and she’s taking advantage of him; but that really doesn’t seem to be the case). Besides, there are always creative solutions to a flagging sex drive. 😉

      • lafrenchy says:

        @Nono:

“there are always a creative solution to a flagging sex drive”

… well that was exactly my point: there are not !

Past a certain age no pill or solution can help.
Viagra and Cialis ar meant for “younger” men, men in they 50’s.
but after 60 no matter how well a man has lived and how healthy a man lifestyle is, nature is taking a serious toll down-there… ahem.

So the only creative thing she can do about that is actually having sex with someone else…

      • Nono says:

Lafrenchy, he doesn’t have to use his downstairs equipment to make her happy!

      • MacScore says:

lafrenchy: what on earth are you talking about? In spite of your father’s medical experience, he can’t possibly speak for all men. Have you read the experiences of older men compiled in The Hite Report on Male Sexuality? _Many_ men remain happily sexually active through their 60s, 70s, and beyond. And the statement that Viagra doesn’t work for men beyond their mid-50s is b******t.
Finally, reducing the relationship between P Stewart and his wife to the simple issue of whether he can “satisfy” her is ridiculous. They look genuinely interested in each other and seem extremely compatible. Good for them! I wish them many happy years together.

      • Lafrenchy says:

@macscore: sexually Happy / sexually active do not equal having your stuff Still working … And concerning the viagra you can -bulldh***t- as much as you want it is the medical truth.

Maybe not All men have this problem while ageing… Maybe one miraculous one can defy biology once in while …,

Men go, as well as women, through hormonal changes after a certain age, and while pills can help till a certain age , past a certain advanced age it cannot … It is called ageing … And guess what ? It happens to every human being, even to *shocker* men!

  34. Cecilia says:

I just love Patrick Stewart. He can do no wrong & I suspect he has other mad skills to make up for any lack of ‘performance.’

  35. frisbeejada says:

Mmmm.. don’t know if it’s the age gap that’s offensive in some of these relationships so much as the ‘power gap’. Patrick Stewart is a fantastic actor – and I could listen to him reading out a telephone directory, he has a beautiful speaking voice – but he doesnt appear to be fantastically powerful in Hollywood, his choice of partner will not really impact on anyone else (I know somebody will correct me if I’m wrong). Performers like Madonna and Johnny Depp are presumably far more powerful yet are both with ‘powerless’ partners. Because of the possible inequality in those relationships there is an element of ‘using’ on both sides, to reclaim lost youth, to gain fame and stardom – at the expense of the ‘competition’ – there is a mercenary aspect to them that most of us still believe to be unacceptable in honest, loving relationships – Just a thought…and have just realised this is pretty much what Louisa is saying

    • Cecilia says:

      *deep*

      and I agree.

    • Nono says:

Thanks for adding this. Patrick’s not the industry force that other actors in similar situations are. He’s respected, but he doesn’t have the power that other people do. That’s why this seems a more equitable arrangement. Whatever their reasons for shacking up- and I’m sure they both gain from it in various ways; as do we all when we choose partners- their partnership’s a lot more palatable exactly because their relationship seems a healthy, rather than exploitative, one.

  36. d says:

in the end, all that matters is if they are happy. I do find that much of an age difference a bit too much and I personally would never be with anyone more than 10-12 yea older than me (I am not really into the older guy thing in general). she looks older than 35 as well. I am not sure if that is a true age. I don’t like a lot of the double standard though. most the time if the gender is reversed there is never this type of public support the such an age difference. and I have no Idea why a woman is normally deemed pathetic. even with Hugh j and his wife there are tons of comments and they seem very happy.

  37. T.Fanty says:

By the way, I see that Elmo regularly. He’s a fleabag. I hope they went back inside and showered.

  38. saucy says:

they look genuinely happy together, thats all that should truly matter.

i love love love that coat of hers… and her shoes………*sigh*

  39. Mew says:

I adore Patric Stewart. They look really happy together, I’m so jealous she got him. He seems such an amazing person.

  40. Mayda says:

    They look cute and happy

  41. sarah says:

    sweet!

  42. GByeGirl says:

I’m just utterly shocked because all along, I thought that he was openly gay. Not that I had any sort of “gaydar” feelings about him…it’s not like I really focus on people’s sexual preferences. I simply thought he was just some regular gay dude.
