Here are some photos from last night’s Vogue Beauty In Wonderland exhibition in Milan. Milan Fashion Week is in full effect, and Blake Lively seems to be sticking around for some high-profile appearances. I’m not sure what the dress code was for this Vogue event, but I suspect it was “cocktail chic”. So how does Blake’s new Gucci’s Spring 2014 jumpsuit fit into that dress code? Eh. I think this would have been sort of cool at a premiere in NYC or LA, but during Milan Fashion Week, it looks more like she’s wearing a glitzy track suit, right? And the details on the top of the jumpsuit are very odd – is there a built-in, meant-to-be-seen bra in there, or is Blake’s bra sticking out because the jumpsuit is badly tailored?
Also at the Beauty In Wonderland exhibition… our love Cate Blanchett! Cate was wearing this Prabal Gurung Resort 2014 ensemble. It’s a cute little party dress and it seems perfect for the event. I don’t normally think of Cate as a “feathers!” kind of person, but it’s cool to see her in something she wouldn’t normally wear. Plus, look at her face. That face is timeless. That face is still going to be show-stopping and exquisite twenty years from now. I could stare at photos of Cate for hours.
Incidentally, did you know that Cate has just signed on to direct her feature film? Deadline reported yesterday that she will direct an adaptation of Herman Koch’s bestselling book The Dinner. I would say that she’s taking a page from Angelina Jolie’s book (that book: when a beautiful Oscar-winning actress decided to eschew lead roles and become a director), but honestly, this was probably in the cards for Cate for years now. For the past five years, she’s been co-artistic director of the Sydney Theater Company and she’s been directing plays this whole time.

Cate is forever, gorgeous, chic and absolute perfection. Kaiser is right, twenty-thirty years from now, she will remain exquisite. Cate always wins the day, no matter what she’s doing or wearing. Yes, I’m an unabashed Cate fangirl.
I think I would have liked each outfit more if they had switched. The feathers would have looked flirty and fun on Blake, and the jumpsuit more alien-elegant on Cate (instead of jumpsuit-y).
Yup! I don’t like the top cut and drop waist on cate. She can rock a jump suit.
I totally second that. But I covet that feathered concoction regardless.
Who looked better? Oh, please. Blake Lively is not good enough to hold the coat hanger that Cate’s dress was brought in on. Maybe in 20 years, if she doesn’t mess with her face, Blake will be in the right neighborhood.

ITA. Cate generally wins by default in my books, but here I do really prefer her outfit. Blake’s jumpsuit is fugly.

the straps seem part of the top but can’t decide if the side boob coverage is also intentional. can’t be a bra but looks like a bra. fail.
If you look at the Gucci runway from a couple days ago, the bra is intentional. It’s an interesting look…

I actually do think that Cate and Blake have similar facial structure. They both have broad-ish noses and pronounced jawlines.
Cate’s dress is hideous. Blake wins because I have a thing for jumpsuits.
I agree… Red and white feathers reminds me of a cheap figure skater costume. But I do love jumpsuits.
Neither of them look great. Both outfits had potential as concepts, but both inevitably failed in the execution. They are not that interesting as “art”, not flattering, and the colors and shapes are off. Wearing something different to look unique doesn’t always equal success in pulling it off.

Blake would look better if she had a ponytail or some more hair. It is tied to her head and looks odd with the outfit. Also, as has been discussed on here before Blake is just mall girl pretty there is nothing interesting about her. Cate is gorgeous as always.
If Blake’s outfit had been a fitted dress it would’ve been hot. But that looks like some Real Housewives crap.

Cate seems so thin… almost boyish from the waist up. Look at the ends of her collar bones on the top of her shoulders! Her arms are sticks. I love Cate she is gorgeous but too thin
All of Gucci’s s/s collection had these out of control bra straps incorporated – so, to be fair to Blake, she probably got it right off the runway…
My issue with Blake is that every time I look at her all I think is “boob job” and “fake nose”…She is just too plastic. I don t understand why people would refer to her as “hot”. How can a woman be hot and beautiful if she is showing a body that is not entirely hers and has been altered by plastic surgery? And by the way I have seen pics of Blake before plastic surgery and she sure wouldn t have had a career in Hollywood with her natural nose. So to me there is nothing hot or beautiful about Blake. There would be if what she is showing was her natural body.
She had all that work done and she’s still not all that. She has a hot bod, but her face is still just meh.
I think some plastic surgery can look good, it depends on the work. Seeing Blake’s boob job in those leaked pictures totally scared me off from the idea of getting the girls done…they looked very hard and alien, nips absurdly high and outward facing. Didn’t look natural at all to me. I think it is hard to know how they are going to heal. Sometimes its great, sometimes not so great.
Plastic surgery, facial & body, are so common in Hollywood that many “hot and beautiful” women have been modified, whether you realize it or not.
Cate is beautiful with flawless skin. Is her hair pinned up? If so, she would really look great with a short bob. I don’t think she is too thin either.
Blakes’ jumpsuit makes her look oddly out of proportion. Pear-like. She looks like she’s got a load of rocks in her pants. I love Cate. She can make anything look better.
Blake nobody doesn’t deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as Cate Blanchett. Done and done.
They are both beautiful women but I don´t like their clothing choices here. But their make-up looks good.

Blanchett’s skin is literally glowing. What do you think she *really* uses? There are moments when Jolie’s skin looks the same way – like it’s got this inner light radiating through.

The jumpsuit on BL looks like something Rhianna bought but then decided it wasn’t skimpy enough. Doesn’t fit. Looks cheap.
CB’s feather skirt is so fun without being “girly”. Love the belt/shoes. Said it yesterday and I’ll say it again today – she know how to look elegant, sexy and age appropriate every time!
Blake looks like a common cooter neck. I have to explain that. In Florida, we have these turtles that are called common cooters. They are black with neon stripes down the side of their necks. She looks exactly like one of those.
The jumpsuit is terrible. It makes Blake looks like she has a tummy roll and it should’ve been cuffed/hemmed so it isn’t dragging on the floor.
Cate is Cate and I can’t be objective because…she’s Cate.
Having said that, had they switched, it would’ve been a much better situation for both.

As much as I love Cate, that dress and her hair are disastrous. I LOVE Blake’s jumpsuit though. Very pretty and flattering. I wish I could pull it off. I’m having height envy.

I had forgotten that Blake Lively existed. An awful and horrendous outfit from her.
Cate looks much better, and I love the colour of the skirt, but I think it would probably look better with movement than in a still.
Cate’s outfit reminds me of that black feathered gown she wore the Met Gala–remember when Beyonce wore that too tight/small black and purple feathered monstrosity with the two foot train?
Cate won that one. She was absolutely perfect and just held herself so elegantly. I think that’s only the second time I have ever gasped when I saw a celeb in a gown. Beautiful.
