This is a cute story, and I wanted to talk about both Harry Styles and (of course) Jennifer Lawrence. Both of them are very cute people as individuals, but I can’t see them together at all. Ever. Harry usually likes girls a little bit grungier like, say, Cara Delevigne. They were apparently dating quite recently, but it was probably a casual thing. He also goes for clingy, hopeless romantics like Taylor Swift. Actually, I think Harry is probably the type to be in love with a million girls at once. He claims not to be a loverboy and says he’s only had sex with two people, but we all know he’s full of it.

Harry has had his eye on Jennifer Lawrence ever since she fell up the stairs at the Oscars. He decided she was cute and funny and hilariously tried to flirt with her on Twitter. JLaw ignored poor Harry’s advances, or maybe she never heard about them. Months later, Harry is still trying. He namedropped her in his new InStyle UK interview:

Ever wondered what to wear to impress Harry Styles? You know, if the occasion ever arose where you might be in the same place as him. Well, here’s a suggestion: leave the skyscraper heels at home, especially if you can’t walk in them.

“Sometimes you see girls walking down the street properly [dressed up],” Harry told us in an interview in this month’s InStyle, “but they can’t walk because their shoes are dodgy.”

And we have to agree with the One Direction charmer, nothing’s going to ruin your look more than a pair of shoes you can’t move in. If you want to get into Harry’s good books, look to Jennifer Lawrence for some style tips. “She dresses cool,” Harry said. “I like her at all those big awards things.”

This isn’t the first time Harry has expressed his admiration for Ms Lawrence. After witnessing her trip up the stairs at February’s Oscars, Harry tried to strike up a Twitter conversation with Jennifer, but unfortunately messaged the wrong girl. Don’t worry Harry, it happens to the best of us.

And while he may not come across as the shy and retiring type, there’s still at least one person that can give Harry butterflies in his stomach: Chris Martin.

Harry told us that the Coldplay frontman is one of the few people that can make him feel a little self-conscious: “He’s the nicest guy. And he doesn’t make me feel nervous, but when you have so much respect for someone, it’s difficult not to.”

See, Harry’s just like the rest of us when it comes to meeting your idols.

Bless his little cotton socks. I’d almost feel bad for him about his unrequited crush on JLaw, but who doesn’t have a crush on JLaw? It’s also difficult to feel sorry for anyone who idolizes Chris Martin, maker of bland, elevator-esque music. Here’s an honest question — how does Harry feel about fart jokes? If he could handle Jennifer’s prized fart jokes, he might have a chance. You know, if she wasn’t already back with Nick Hoult. Sorry, Harry.
